These games don't have friendly AI. Friendlies rarely successfully kill enemies, and you're supposed to be on highly trained special forces squads. If you don't kill enemies, the game will never progress.
@WeEatBrainz surely you jest! ai may be one of the most important parts of the single player. it completely changes the gameplay. and makes the game harded if their self aware. the mw3 ai may have been the stupidest of all 2011 games. they would completely disregard everything. and in bf3 they would hide behind cover depending on your position.
Congratilations man, you have finded the line that active the script for destoy the building, and you get flying powers and couldn´t control your weapons
Well I've said it a thousand times and I'll say it again, MW3 is devoid of any amount of creativity, innovation, or even drive for perfection. Why the hell millions of people pay for this lump of shit every year, is beyond me. I just don't have the mental capability to even understand why. It's just so stupid.
@zeppelin0110 No quite the opposite really. I'm too smart for this game. It seems this game is right up your ally. It's a perfect game for the ignorant and judging by your comment, that fits you to a T. So have fun with a money grab scheme that is devoid of all creativity, innovation, and anything resembling what people should develop games for.
@xPreatorianx Really, you deduced that entire rant from my initial comment.. of 6 words? Maybe you should should find something else to do than write these ridiculously pretentious comments.
@kgoo867 Hes mocking the entire games progression system as well as the fact that the AI are too primitive to so much as see that someone is behind a lamp post. Also, in case you weren't aware, all games are developed ON THE PC. As in the platform USED FOR LEAD DEVELOPEMENT. And I do find it odd that you seem so proud of playing on a bloody 5 year old platform that barely runs twice as well a friggin ipad (2).
No, he's confusing what he THINKS is the progression system in COD with what is ACTUALLY a hint for less skilled players. You don't NEED to follow the AI to move forward. Those "follow" markers are there to help you if you get lost. You clearly don't actually play these games. If you did, you (and he) wouldn't be talking out of your ass when you try and criticize this game with pseudo intellectual bullshit.
Also, the HARDWARE a game is developed on (a computer) and the PLATFORM a game is developed for (a console) are NOT the same thing. You are wrong. You know nothing about game development. Call of Duty is made on a software level to run efficiently on an Xbox 360 or a PS3, not current gen, high end CPUs and GPUs for use with Windows.
Never said I was "proud". Again, keep your words out of my mouth and your straw man arguments out of this conversation.
@kgoo867 The AI being "less than perfect" isn't the problem, the problem is that the game's advancement depends on them rather than the player. Bad AI simply makes the issue worse.
Believe me, there are better reasons to hate on the MW series than it being popular, but once again it's status compounds the issue. You know what message this sends to game developers? Don't try, it isn't worth it. Shit something out and you'll make billions.
Except it doesn't. You're wrong. All he had to do was walk forward and/or kill whatever enemies are left. Instead he made this misleading video so people could bitch about the series and say how much better *insert other shooter here* is.
Every game has issues. I've seen problems like this in Half Life, Deus Ex, Skyrim, Battlefield, you name it. The reason is not *compounded*. It's blown out of proportion. THAT is what you fail to understand.
@kgoo7 Nah. Watchin your AI shoot walls and random obstructions and really fail is just poor AI. Even the enemy AI is pretty bad, difficulty level just makes their snap to faster, and spread and recoil smaller. And actually, I've modded COD4, and you can tell they use the same system. Tanks won't move up until you reach a certain point, teammates wont breach a door unless you are in a very specific location. That said, it doesn't matter. Play whatever you think is fun, others will do the same.
That poor solider obviously suffered from OCD. He *had* to jerk back and forth and shoot the lampost 87 times before moving forward. It's an honest look at the mental anguish soldiers face in wartime, and you were just too busy being mean to notice it, John.
The "John Walker talking softly over videos of videogames" genre is proving surprisingly entertaining. Though I suspect Truck isn't going to get a song written about him.
You know... It's kinda your fault the building exploded. If you would have just stayed close like you were told, none of that would have happened. So selfish.
@JMercuie that explosion is part of the adventure, sometimes u should do the opposite they tell u, if he had lost then it would had appeared, MISSION FAILED of something like that. Haven't u ever played CoD?

The ai isn't that important in a game that is almost entirely scripted.

The fail here isn't the AI... it's the way the building fell. If 9/11 taught me anything, it's that big buildings neatly fall in on themselves.
luchamini 2 months ago 6
@luchamini this building was collapsed by a controlled detonation. destroying the correct support structures could make a highrise fall on it's side.

Cry more. AI is never perfect. I haven't had any issues with MW3. I'm also not playing it on a platform that wasn't used for lead development.
You can go back to beating off while you hate on successful things.
