  • Were in process of making this now but we mixed with cattle cubes how many times do I re add water or when do I know when its done fermenting for good.....of course its been cold here in okc aswell

  • @wyatt513 take awhile in the cold. In the heat I can use it in about 6 weeks. I keep adding over the top of the grain. You'll know when its ripe. Then you can just keep adding to it or use the last part as a base mix.

  • @dnahoghunter yea, smells like cabbage coming out a proccesed end haha.....when this finishes we will send you videos with our results =)

  • @dnahoghunter can you send me what you use to make this in a pm???

  • @catchfree84 sometimes. I have a new batch thats coming up on a year old. It makes alot and I havent fished for cats in awhile. Besides, when it gets low, add another bag and some more water.

  • what is milo?

  • what is milo?

  • @samsoninthepit its a grain you buy at the feed store

  • i dont think my chum is fermenting because of the weather i dont see it bubble and the milo isnt swelling up water level is the same as day 1 and the smell is sour not rotten and im 2 1/2 weeks in should i add more sugar and yeast

  • @jrg0007 I wouldnt. Just let it be. Sour is the smell it starts with. It may stay sour. Thats just fine. Take a scoup out at 3 weeks and head to the lake. Try a spot you know the fish will be around. I need to make some too!

  • @dnahoghunter Isn't chum suppose to lure fish in?

  • @smokemansmoker It will, but how far do you want them to come from? Bestto use it in a spot hat you know the fish are near.

  • @smokemansmoker How far do you think they can be drawn in from? Most chums I heard of said to chum a few days before fish that spot. Just curious of how far and how long it would take to pull them out of a stump field to one particulair area.

  • cut the corners at lake whats that mean?

  • @theapothem1 If you put it in a jug, just hand from the boat and cut the corners of the jug... it will trckle out

  • its been since august since ive been to calaveras do you if the bowies are still by the bridge not allowing to be able fish the other side of the lake

  • @jrg0007 Theyve been removed for quite some time now. MAny months! You can go all the way to the 3rd bridge it woould be now. Bth the old bridge and new have lights.... great for at night!

  • hey dna im making chum right now should i worry about the weather being that its not hot outside

  • @jrg0007 It will take longer but it will still work

  • mighty9178 This is one of the best bait if used learn how to fish.

  • bullshit

  • this crap doesnt work use cut bait or live minnos

  • @mighty9178 If you cant get it to work, you don't know how to fish!!! Theres thousands if not hundreds of thousands across the world useing it!!! And it works!!!

  • THIS MIT SOUND FUNNY BUT WHAT DO YOU UES IN ALL THAT STUFF

  • @erichalseyyy Use? All of it, pour the juices in the lake and spread the rest around...

  • Dna- Sorry man I got busy but yeah my comment was pointed torwards Dumbstin - Anyways I have fished all my life mostly on the lower gulf coast of Texas but I am a huge Bass fisherman and have recently fallen in love with catfishing and Juglining especially AI deas for videos, Jugging, treelining, trotlining any ancient forms of catfishing would be great- Jeremiah -Houston Texas

  • @Jamiah23 Mostly cat fish in the winter. See what I can do.

  • i would use this at my grandpas house but the only problem is that i live in Arizone and he lives in missourri so i dont have a way to get it there but ive been pokin some holes in the top of the dog food not the hard kind but canned

  • It Works If You Think It Doesnt You Are Wrong Everytime I Use It And Then Filet My Catfish And Open Their Stomachs They Are Full Of It

  • @Jamiah23 Thanks for the backing!!! LOL, you shoulda replied that directly to dustin down below. I need to make more already. I found that if you can get this chum into the rocks, it may stay and attract them for a full week. One of my vids show that. One of them, I dont have a clue which!!! LOL. Thanks for the suport! Any requests for a new fish vid??? No chum made right now so chums out... anything leagal goes!!!

    D

  • roman noodles, and shrimp in a mixed in a blends works too

  • @02greyhound Sounds like it would! Cotten seed blocks work too!

  • this guy is an idiot

  • @dustin78669 Opions are like assholes... everyone has one. This chum works everywhere for damn near anything. People are useing it all over the world and catching fish. The views speak for itself. Thanks for your asshole.. ahh I mean opinion...

  • @dnahoghunter LMAO!!! Haters suck!!!

  • @MrHOGKNUCKLE LOL, you caught that huh? I forget about the friends showing comments!!! LMAO!! Funny stuff!!!

  • @bubbajeasy Exactly!!! You should see the cats turn PURPLE with this stuff!!! It woks great!!!

  • made up a batch havent used it yet, but i found this same technique featured in an old In-Fisherman mag from the nineties, apparently its a widely used tactic in the south in states like texas and kansas other people use fermented soy beans with the cheese bait instead of milo

seems like great stuff though cant wait to try it out

  • @TheCrazedFisherman Cool! Yeah, cotten seed blocks work too!!!

  • when i make his 6 months wait pays off

  • @Qbert907123 Wait about 8 weeks then its good.

  • i made the chum today cant wait to try it out!!!!

  • @yfz450owner give it a few weeks so it will sink.

  • is there any replacement for the milo. because all the feed and seed places around dont have milo. did you grind the chicken liver up.

  • @yfz450owner I used shad in this one. It doesnt hurt to put the liver in the blender, but no needed. Ahhh, you could use about any grain I would think. I dont know why milo is used, its cheap and thats what I was taught to used. Corn sours and I've used it fo rfishing before. try corn maybe. You'ld be making liver whisky for the fish!!!

  • thanks for sharing your recipe. i'm defiently going to make some. where can i buy some milo at. how many cans of beer should i put cause i dont know where to get yeast at.

  • @yfz450owner Milo at a feed or tractor suply store, yeast at the super market...

  • do you use the whole bag of sugar?

  • I did. Gives the yeast something to work on...

  • getting ready to go to calaveras at the end of the month and gonna use your chum for the first time. We made it about a year ago and put shad worms shrimp and chicken liver in as well. We're gonna be at the bank but I'm pretty sure we'll catch something with all that crap we put in it.

  • I'm fresh out of that batch I made. Let me know exactly when you'll be there and we both can take advantage. I have the boat and know where the fish are...

    D

  • were going the weekend of the 27 and the 28th its not a big batch but its enough to get the job done it stinks bad 20 pounds of shrimp rotten fish and earth worms and a secret ingredient that ive just learned about since working as a vet technicinan and its very smelly very

  • PM me and let me know what it is. I keep no secrets from ya'll!!!

  • Maybe we can hook up that weekend. See what happens. Trucks back in the shop and I never know what I'm doing from one weekend to the next.

  • Are you talkin about submerged weeds or reed beds close to the bank?

  • Absolutly!!! I find alot of good sized cats that spend their entire lives being sunburned in the shallows at the weedbeds. And shore fishing at night... keep your lines close to shore, at least a few. Alot of fisherman cast over the fish as they feed close by!!! Good Fishing to you Dr!!!

  • do u keep topping it off with water as the year goes on or do u let it dry out?

  • In a trsh barrel with the top on it stays wet a long time. I made this chum 1 year ago, I added water one time and I just used the last of it this past weekend. Just keep it at the top, no need to over fill after the milo soaks.

  • great thanks alot for answering all my questions lol

gonna make me some here in the next few days just gotta get the milo and then i can mix it up and let her soak

    good fishin to ya!

  • Welcome, I just used the last of the chum. I need to make more. You'll get results!!!

  • Grain from a feed store. Sugar and yeast. Plus something stinky.

  • I told my buddy about your recipe and he's gonna make some for our upcoming fishing trip but he's in dallas and he cant find the milo. Does it have to be that? Is there a substitue?

  • I'm sure you can use corn or something. You may get busted for making whisky!!! LMAO... But I cant believe they dont have any at a feed store. Maybe its just not the season. I need a new batch myself. Luck finding it. You can probably use any grain, but I've always used milo due to the small size.

  • how much liver would u put into it?

  • One or two tubs off blended chicken liver. I need a new batch myself.

  • same question as mudfan.

  • LOL, same answer. Any feed store carries milo. Afet 2 months, fling it out with a long tube or cup. USe near the weed beds.

  • Hey, I was wondering where in San Antonio do you get your Milo from? Any particular store? Also, how would you approach chumming from off the bank. Don't have a boat :-( Thanks! Cool Videos:-)

  • Any ffed store has it. I go to Mummies up on 281, theres one on Hebner by 10 ans thenn in Holotis... Plug one end of a 2" PVC pipe, then use that to fling it in the water, gets farther that way.

  • Okay. I'm gonna get my buddy to make some of this.(grin) Awesome how to video. Faved

  • It works great!!!

  • ok in my town i couldnt find milo the closes i got was wild bird seeds that has milo but when i mixed all the ingridents it had black sunflower seeds do you think it will still work the black sun flower seeds floated should i try an scooping them up..

  • Nope!!! Just leave them in and wait to see if they sink. Maybe try a bag of corn. That will do about the same as milo, just be making some realy nasty corn whisky, DON'T TRY DRINKING IT!!! LOL

  • ha yeah i was thinking i should of just got the corn but eh oh well.. yeah im hopeing ta go try this stuff out in braunig or calaveras once it starts ta reek.. ha..

  • dont forget to get some cotton cake range cubes to throw out with this and fish will come a running

  • Send me a personal mesage and elaborate, I've never heard of this. I'ld like some more info. Thanks!!!

    D

  • hello yes we go to the feed store ans get cattle range cubes 50lbs bag. make sure you get the one with cottonseed cake in it and molasus in it. that aint how you spell it. we always throw out the milo then about a gallon of cubes and it will draw them in. you can go to the website texas fishing forum. and click on the one that says best place to talk fishing. you will know when you find it and they will help you catch all kinds of fish

  • @PFCGuerra Dude in the south side on nogalitos and 90 theres a feed store called rudys feed they sell it cheap

  • i guess you stir to the bottom with in the fist couple weeks??

  • Just dump it all to gether and let it go...

  • i guess the yeast will mix it all together as it fermit's?i will make some of this ill bet it really works well thank for the video and the response!

  • The co2 releasing stirs the waters and kinda mixes it. YES!!! It works!!! I need to add some water and go fishing soon!!!

  • hey man I just made some of this stuff using chicken liver (4 little tubs) 50lbs of milo and yest and sugar. im going to add another 50lbs tomorrow but im worried that the yeast wont work because its so cold here in North East Texas. any ideas

  • Pu the next bag of milo in. Then get as much boiling hot water in it as you can. Wrap it to insulate a bit. As long as you can keep it 55-60 degrees it should work, The warmer the better.

  • thanks thats smart! I should have waited on a warmer day. next question what do you use for bait after you put your chum out, chicken liver, stink bait?thank you so much for the input ill give you all the credit this spring when this stuff works!!lol

  • I use Charlies Cheese bait, live perch, talapia or shad, the shad can be used live but they die easy so I use the shad as cut bait. Chicken liver works well. It will catch all species of fish in Calaveras here. Even the talapia have hit liver in the past. If for cats then Charlie and a perch on one, cut bait on the other. Throw them a variety and see what they eat first...LUCK

  • what is milo made of??

  • Its like a bird seed that you get at the feed store.

  • its cleaned grain!

  • Thats fishing brother. This was the first time with shad. I always use liver. I don't know what to say about them not hitting. Thanks for taking the time to comment.

  • You've got Horn Pout! They call them bull heads down here. I'm from Maine. We used worms for those cats too. And a lantern hung above the water, fished the outer edges of the light, filled the 5 gallon pails. This stuff should work great. Start chumming your secret hole all the time. It may help. It makes alcohol so it takes a bit for the water to freshen in slow current or small ponds and bogs. It make take a few for the fish to bite. Try chichen liver for bait, use thread to wrap the hook.

  • No. If you're gonna be on the lake for awhile, or if you will be going again the next day, use this in the water. Watch part 2 chum. I've still got some 6 months old. I need to add water. This brings the baitfish, cats and anything that eats live bait closer to you. They have to be in the area for this to work. Still use yur worms or maybe some cheese bait to hook them. Thanks for the comment. Hollar if theres anymore ?'s

    -D

  • What is the gravel looking stuff?

  • Thats the milo.

  • sugar and yeast. beer

  • would old yeast work?

  • Absolutly!!!!

  • how long do you have to leave it in the water befour it starts bringing in the baitfish and will this work in a lake from the bank?ty

  • A few minutes to a few hours. The closer to fish you get the better. Weed beds are great from the bank. Any place fish are holding. Boat or bank. Use rubber gloves if you can. And spread with a coke bottle or similar container.

  • heres what i was thinking of doing and you can tell me if you think it will work i fish at lakes and ponds i dont have a boat so i was going to get a bucket with a lid poke holes in it fill it up tie a stringer on it and throw it in the water a few feet from the bank and ill position myself so the wind if there is any is blowing at my back so it carries it into the water i dont know just a thought

  • That would work to bring them around. But the question is weather they will stay in the area if they can't eat the bait. Some will fall out of the holes. Its worth a try. I'ld throw some in the water too!

  • thats true i never thought of it like that i figured it would be enough just to keep the intrest of the bait fish and i was going to use the bait fish for atracting the big ones in but if the bait fish arent getting food there not going to stick around either huh i was tring to avoid touching it at all cost cause its hard to get the smell of things off your hands and i dont like useing any hand sanitiser cause the fish smell it ill just use gloves and throw just a cup full in every half hour..ty

  • Maybe start with a few scoops. Big scoop, keep your hands clean. Use a plastic bag over your hand.

  • when you put that out what bait do you use on your rod and reels.

I fish in the mississippi river for catfish

  • ANY BAIT!!! The chum brings in the cats. They'll eat anything. It brings in the bait fish also. Thats when you throw on some live bait for the Reds and big blues. Thanks for the comment.

  • whats MILO?

  • Milo is a bird seed/grain. I buy it at feed stores or farm supply. A 50lb bag is around $8 and lasts a long time.

  • LOL You should see the blue lips on the cats. They get so drunk. Never stop trying to swim.

  • I bake bread from scratch too. Nevar have too much in bucket. Stinks real good now.

    Yeast is cheap.

  • I made this on sunday and it already smells pretty bad. I'm gonna be taking it out to calaveras lake in about 3-4 weeks. we'll see...............

  • Its realy good at 3 weeks. Mine is...36 days old. Used in video at 2 weeks I think. No boat, go down to weed beds, spread along edge. Wait 1 hour or so. You know how to fish. Only a cup or two to a hole till feeding starts. If you have a boat: Find my spot, not hard if you know the lake. Spot named for reason marker is there. DON'T POST THE NAME. Enough people are fishing it now. It is usualy "chummed up" all the time.

  • ok thanks alot

  • 10-4

  • - i never used chumm- so is that a bait or an bait thatg use for atrating-- what if i want only worth of a 5 gallon bujcket - how much of wat for 5 gallon- thanks

  • Still have to buy 1 bag of milo. Fill pail 3/4 full of milo, 1 packet of yeast and 1 cup of sugar. Add 1 or 2 perch or some chicken liver for spoil scent. Vent 5 gal lid so it doesn't blow when opened. Use a cup or soda bottle to spread around fishing hole to ATRACT catfish. 1 bag of milo will make 3-4 buckets.

  • block o' shad lol...ill have to try this..

  • Or chicken liver...works very good.

  • Ya'll worried on smell? Haven't done this but; Get big bag of carbon charcoal from pet store. Seal can with duck tape. Drill 1" hole in top of bucket. Tape charcoal over hole with perferations in bag to filter smell. Might work.

  • Any fish, chicken liver I use most. This first time I used shad. Check out catfishing vid.

  • Any farm supl or feed store.

  • were do you buy milo at?

  • lolol dont tell her that.

  • dude i think my girl has been watching this video. she just made some stuff that looks just like this.
