@zxl345 Since it came out. From my experience, I have both games, and I hold true to my statement. Starcraft 2 may have the "old-school" style of RTS gameplay, but that's also its biggest problem. It's using a formula that's old and antiquated, where other games have moved on and improved on the aspects of the strategy part of the genre. Whatever deviations SC2 may have taken from its predecessor make little to no difference to the core of the game. Try Relic's RTS games and see for yourself.

All the games, including the pro-levels, have remained unchanged in the past decade and no matter how different the units and maps may be, it's still the same thing since 1995! You can micro and macro all you want, but the winner is always decided by the one who has more units and is faster with the commands, not the one who actually uses strategy and tactics!

The bottom line is: Starcraft 2 is NOTHING NEW.

@crazy4sian Those maneuvers arent built into the game for some easy one click method. you actually have to do those formations and maneuvers yourself, and it is possible to do them yourself and they are effective. And no one spams voidrays, thors, or bcs unless its custom map where you have like infinite resources... If someone tried to do that in a real ladder game they would get their asses kicked.

You're obsessing over the fact that it looks pretty and handles better. It's overhyped and is only glorified as it is because Blizzard has its big fat stamp on it, and I've seen past it; it's not that good.

Most people would not have played it if blizzard decided to rebuild the system from the ground up. I would not have played it if they completely changed the gameplay. to this i would check (to brood war) cool units like vultures, medics, dark archon, etc, the only think that the 2 has improved is the number of units u can select and the workers collecting/repairing

@KAKALXLAX I checked that link, and SC2 does have chat rooms and multiplayer replays as well as lan support (as for lan, I'm not completey sure, but somthing close to it). Sure sometimes the orginals are better, but games evolve, adapt, and usually, get better. They're both of the same series, so stop aguring about the game with people who don't want to hear it, and play the game. Thank you.
