clevver games you know that wwe is sport entertament not striet fight and real hitting stuff and why you make the guy review things he don't even likes and know stuff about wwe or other company
I'm glad I stopped buying these games. You do bring out a very constructive point. Really all it is, press this button or this one and you pretty much have the concept. Buying yearly games has really grown old. Yes I'm talking about Cod. Pretty much every game that has been released as of this year were pretty much all the same, but yet still great games. This is why I stick to Mortal Kombat when it comes to fighters.
sohinki you by far have the most awesome intro clip for your videos in youtube XD and while im not a fan of wrestling games i do enjoy fighting games and its because of exactly what you have said from a gamers stand point games like these are always horrible the same reason why games based on movies suck its because when those games are made they are generally targeted at the fan of whatever they are making rather than the gamer community
I agree with most of the criticism you have given, however I also agree with the statements in comments below that these games are made for wrestling fans who quiet often are happy just recreating the moves and "Melodrama" that they watch wrestling for.
I definitely think the controller layout for these games is horribly boring and the range of moves monotonous @iceyflamez I agree fully a Wrestling game built on a similar engine to EAs fightnight with all the drama attached would be Awesome. :)
Wrestling is no more homoerotic than any other male to male contact sport. That said, if team members deliberately engaged in lewd sexual behaviors against the same gender for the purpose of sexual gratification, a person would have an argument. But simply watching a man violently beating the hell out of another man is what fans have found entertaining, even if it is fake.
'A punch button. A grapple button. A whip button.' I could put the same argument to most video game series' and genres. FPS = Shoot. Aim. Prone. Run. Action: Jump. Punch. Run. Shoot. Fifa 12 = Pass. Shoot. Punt. Tackle. The fact that WWE gamers are still buying their annual WWE games means that they're happy with their product. Who's the WWE games aimed at? WWE fans. They've clearly kept their fans happy which means they've done their job.
@aidenmccloskey Right, but simplifying an FPS down to the very basic controls means that you're neglecting everything else that goes into it (i.e. positioning, cover, working as a unit, using different weapons and equipment) etc. Fifa you can make the same argument. In fifa you have dribble controls, pass, through ball, lob pass, shot, skill shot, ground shot, BUT you also have to take into account things like how you use your possession, how you progress up the field, plays you set up. etc.
@ClevverGames And you can make the same argument to WWE wrestling video games. How are you going to go into a WWE match? Are you going to cheat? Sock the ref and take a steel chair to finish a guy off? Or are you going to tactically attack part of a body 'till the point where it's badly beaten and then take advantage, use a submission on your opponent to make them tap out?
Wrestling games HAVE changed dramatically since the days of Nintendo 64. The reason why you feel that wrestling games haven't dramatically changed over the past few years is because the WWE series is a yearly series and they can only improve upon their games with what little time they've got. You can argue about mechanics all you want, but you can put that same argument to most genres and video game series'. The mechanics in FPS haven't changed over the past few years either. Aim. Shoot. Duck.
Don't Listen to the Wrestling Fan Boy Faggots that like man to man homoerotic action, and there homoerotic acting that goes along with it, your opinion is an opinion, people may think otherwise, but your the one making the videos and getting money off of it, so, keep it up, keep doing what your doing, because your doing your job well !
wrestling games are soo 2001....the should stop trying to be real and make it more arcady...like wwe superstars....because i really feel like i play this game 10 years ago....and btw...you can't make a realistic game whit pro wrestling...(because is feak!!!) the math does not work well there...
I don't understand this. You're supposed to be professional yet your answer to encountering something out of your demographic is to tell that thing to stop being what it is and start being something else?
What's next? You only like arcade style racers so when the next Gran Turismo comes out you'll criticise that for being too slow and tell its developers to make it more like Need for Speed? It's funny that your "constructive criticism" really was just "Stop Existing" when you get down to it.
@WrestleMaggedon Don't let your passion for something cause you to twist my words.
I never said that this game needed to stop being something and start being something else. I said that it's been at least 10 years since any of these types of wrestling games (wrestling simulators essentially) have evolved. All that I said there was that these wrestling games need to evolve and expand the combat.
I then offered my own opinion of what a good wrestling game is (read: opinion) Feel free to disagree
@ClevverGames Didn't they create an entirely new engine this year though from the ground up? I know the basic experience is the same but the improvements the new engine has brought with it are enormous to someone familiar with the titles. Remember the characters becoming invulnerable whenever they were in a pre set motion? New engine has stopped that. Also the old problem of arms and legs going through the ropes or slamming against the ropes only to see the ropes not react.New engine fixed that.
@ClevverGames Could they have done more? Yes. Should they have? Probably not. It's a yearly title, they need something for next year. Going back. Didn't you say it yourself that's what All-Stars is for? From my last example; racing fans get Need for Speed for Arcade style & Gran Turismo for Sim style... I'm in no doubt that THQ are working on All-Stars 2 & WWE'13 to provide both an arcade style 'Fighting Game' & a more slowed down 'Wrestling Sim' for their respective demographics to each enjoy.
@WrestleMaggedon Fair enough. I can agree with the building a sim for someone that's into that point. That being said, I still believe the combat could be expanded a lot.
The only real wrestling game that wowed me was SvR 2007, since it started the new formula which was then basically used in the next SvR games, just updated a little more with each. Also, there were more memorable characters back in those games, now (except for a few) all the "performers" are pretty much just stock and boring.
@ClevverGames Your not going to get a dislike from me and im a wrestling fan. i had every game up to this one and i understand your review. i personally like this years game more than the previous ones. wwe allstars was a good game but i like the slower more realistic gameplay. i like your review and i respect your view on this game.
wrestling in general is so lame and just straight up dumb! lol if your over 13 and you actually like wrestling... uuuhm wow i just really dont know what to say to those people hahaa
Your kind of a doche man. The whole point of a wrestling game is for the fans not some douch who works for cleaver games. Yes they are preformers but they legit put there bodies on the line in match just ask mick foley. I get your an unbaise reviewer but it sounds like you knew before you played it you didn't like it.m as someone who likes wrestling and its video games I don't care if the actions change just the story lines and creative aspects. Hence why I've bought every wwe game since 2000
@livefreeordienh36 If you're going to comment please do it politely in the future.
1. I acknowledged the fact that they put their bodies on the line when I said they do "dangerous, painful stunts."
2. I didn't know before I played it that I didn't like it, but I knew that I didn't like SVR 2011, and when this game turned out to be pretty much the same thing (slightly better) I decided to make this video.
I never said you couldn't disagree. The point of these videos is to start a discussion.
@ClevverGames Here's a thought. You mentioned asking wrestling fans what they like about fighting games. You failed to mention asking them what they want from a wrestling sim...
@livefreeordienh36 "Your kind of a doche" for saying all of that. If the video is called "Constructive Criticism," then you should expect that he's going to, I don't know, CRITICIZE something about the game. Therefore, if you can't appreciate that it is his opinion, then don't watch it or comment on it, Plus, your spelling and grammar is awful, pal.
you should have talked about real life wrestling being"performers" etc, with the review of the game half the people know that etc. This is the reason for the hate im guessing.
here comes the pain and 2008 were the ones i played <3
lol everyone complains about COD being the same boring old shit, then you look over towards the games like fifa and WWE and you realise that there the exact same thing each year and you do the exact same thing everytime you play it, lol why dont anyone complain about those games?
It's tough for THQ to cater to both casual and hardcore fans, of all ages, in one complete product.
All-Stars types of games are better for kids -- SvR/WWE should cater to hardcore fans alone. People complain iAll-Stars is "too unrealistic" (which it's SUPPOSED to be) while SvR/WWE is "too realistic". Just decide.
THQ and Yukes are right when they say fans are indecisive and can't ever be pleased. Anyway, WWE '12 looks like a combination of arcadiness and simulation; a clever, addicting game.
l gave up on WWE games ever since it started the smackdown vs. raw series. Here Comes the Pain and Shut your mouth were good games including Smackdown games. Idk wrestling are just boring now, l think one reason is that they're trying to make it too real and its like at the end of the day its a game its suppose to be fun
yes, same thing every year but it not that much you could do to the game or the game play........ doesn't matter i still going buy the game, because i love wrestling games, fun to play, different then other games... plus, i big wresling fan,and support what i watch...
Dude, Smackdown Here Comes the Pain was fuckin good. No mention of that on here though. I think any game before Here Comes the Pain was good and any one after that was shit. I agree the gameplay is way too slow and the try to imitate the real animations too much, it just looks dumb
They have improved from the earlier smackdown games. It use to be you could have 5 finishers stored before the match. Problem being it took all to pin. Now its more realistic but much like madden all you can really do is update the roster and add a few new match and custom types.
wrestling fanboys need to stop defending this crap. i like wrestling too but thq does not advance this genre at all. its probably because you idiots just defend it blindly instead of demanding a better product.

I used to buy wwe games but after i bought svr 2010 then i bought svr n2011
found out that they haven't done anything in the game just a few tweaks which
made me hate their series so i didn't buy wwe 12 and it's the same just a few tweaks they don't work hard on their games...
