Our government is not what it is supposed to be, in the U.S. I'd make a fuss at naked body scanners, saying somthing like "I'm a soveriegn U.S. citizen. This is outrageous and unconstitutional. A case against this will make it's way to the Supreme Court. This is humiliating..." @terabrat, While I agree with the concept of separation of church and state, I think that it's important to remember that the 1st Amendment does deal with God in that it guarantees our religious freedom.

That freedom covers right to believe in God as well as the right not to believe in God.

As far as the pledge of allegiance and public schools are concerned, Constitutionally, neither of those should exist in the first place. So, worrying about the mention of God in either is unnecessary.

i disagree, the 1st amendment does not deal with GOD it deals with anyone rights to reglious freedom. so there is a difference. not everyone believe in GOD and therefore it is there religious right to not believe in a GOD or any at all. and thereforce public school mentioning GOD in the pledge of allegiance is unconsitutional. espeically when money is mark by "in god we trust" but who are "WE" ... isn't "WE" are the people of the United States...the people of all ethnic backgrounds.

You are, of course, entitled to your opinion. I think you're missing my overall point, which is that neither "pledges of allegiance" nor public schools are Constitutional to begin with. Actually, neither is fiat currency. The presence of the term "God" in pledges, public schools and on our b.s. paper currency is a red herring (a diversion from the real issue).

Lots of people get a big bug up their butts whenever anyone mentions God. I guess they don't like being reminded that they're not Him.

It deals with a restriction placed upon law makers, federal and local communities, not to make laws that show respect for religious establishments, like a tax break as one obvious example. The words separate and church only show up in a case law-SCOTUS which only mentioned Jeffersons letters that had those words. The restriction is immediately followed with the right to a faith in Frodo.
