Despite the big money he got from royalties, the writer of this song JD Loudermilk wasn't thrilled with any of the rock n roll interpretations of this hilbilly working class anthem.
A band sporting Two Lead Singers ! I love the way Ray Phillips and Arthur Sharpe move in unison as they sing ! Excellent Band who made Great Records !! Goodbye Google Eye...
What are the girls screaming at??? Cute guys, of course!!!!! ... can be found in Beatles, Dave Clark 5, Herman's Hermits and other British invasion videos
I bought this at a grocery store for 49 cents in 1966. At 9 I leaned to play guitar with it within a few weeks. My brother was a Beatle nut but I thought this album was just as good. I wish I still have it....
WTF? Is that Roger Daltrey??

I saw these fellas in March 1964 before they'd really made it. They were playing at Bloxwich - great little band with John Hawkins on piano i think.

My God, someone else remembers The Strawbs! By the way, what are the girls in the audience screaming at?

Probably a large, lighted sign in the studio, saying "SCREAM."
