  • very cool video glad i stumbled onto it

  • one of my top five favorite horses of all time

  • Although I have no doubt what happened to Fernidad, the rumor that he was slaughtered has never been proven.

  • ferdinand die in a slaughter house in japan ,, sad indeed!

  • you are completely one of the best of all time !

    I love you Alysheba <3 !!!

  • 00:56 Lok At his horse!! He GORGEUS!

  • I love Jack!

  • Alysheba and Ferdinand together once again.

Two of my all time favorites but I'm biased. I grew up near Santa Anita and worked there in the 1980s.

Hi to Jack VB and best wishes! I'm a friend of Hoppy (Jack will know who I mean) : )

  • Rest in Peace Alysheba!! You will be missed!!

  • RIP sweet one.

  • RIP Alysheba

  • Jack was the ideal trainer for Alysheba. I've been a huge fan of Alysheba since he started running as a 2 yr old. I had his name on my Toyota Supra plate from 86-93. He would've won the 87 Breeders Cup if McCarron didn't blow it for him. McCarron admitted it was one of his worst riding jobs that day. Alysheba did most of the work on his own. The horse was very intelligent, had a huge heart, and he had guts! The best horse of ALL time! Alysheba!

  • Alysheba was some kind of good. He won 2 legs of the Triple Crown at 3 and then came back to have a remarkable 4 year old campaign, winning some huge handicap races on BOTH coasts(Big Cap, Woodward) as well as in the Midwest(Breeders Cup at Churchill). He won 9 grade 1 races in his career. He ran in so many big races that he developed outstanding rivalries with two separate horses, Bet Twice and Ferdinand. How many rivalries are there now(2009)? A true Hall of Famer.

  • That Classic in '88 was Churchill's first Breeder's Cup. I am still so glad that I was there! When they brought Alysheba to the paddock area, folks applauded as if he were a movie star. Well, I guess he was at that. Damn,it was cold, raining and DARK! Camera flashes filled the darkness as we stood in our seats watching them come through the lane.

  • Ya gotta love Jack! Hope his Gold Aly brings him back some of those late 80s glory! He sure deserves it, and what better horse than a grandson of Alysheba? ;)
