  • shostakovich music always gives me some creepy feelings.

  • Shostacovich always gives me this creepy feeling.

  • Impresionante clima musical brillante " los Chung"!!!!!!

  • q belleza esta obra, virtusismo de los Chung para transmitir esta impresionante version

  • myung wha experienced some difficulties with the harmonics but still very good.

  • great potential hahahah that is a joke, they are all complete masters of their instrument and this piece

  • I consider their play very contemplative and soulful! They all have great potential! They understand every single note and its significance. It seems as if they compose the music themselves in the moment they play it! That is a rare quality!!

    I am really impressed!!

  • They look alike in the sense that I see strong family resemblence. Not being racist that all koreans look the same.

  • @violinmusicfan yea thats when you dont know them. to them europeans look all the same.

  • No, i didnt mean it that way. What I meant to say is I see a strong family resemblance and they really do look like brother and sister. Not that I cannot see the differences in the appearances of Korean individuals and that they look completely identical. :D

  • It takes talent to play Shostakovich...I think Chung ranks up there with the best of the best. The passion in which she plays makes NO piece she plays boring.

  • The Korean you see on the screen is only analyzing the composition

  • The dynamic markings for the first violin meausres are: Piano, con sordini.

And the violinist comes in sounding like a freaking French horn.

  • Yeahwell, Ms Violin Chung is maybe painting with a bit too broad and sentimental strokes, but she suffers from an unbalanced sound mix too, and overall I liked this addition to the other recordings of this piece on Youtube, where you can find everything from US university boys anxiously treading through it to Russians slowing it to a droning standstill, all adding something to this work, the most nakedly revealing piece of music imaginable... and the greatest I personally ever heard.

  • Very nice video. This movement reminds me a little of his prelude and fugue opus 87 number 24 for piano, as well as one of his symphonies.

  • A wonderfully sensitive performance of the first movement of this trio.
