  • Take out your drawer and play with this part, watching how it interacts with the ice crusher blades up in the front of the drawer. When you have the spring set so that the lever automatically pulls the rod out of the way (crusher engagement) then your ice cubes or crushed ice feature will work again!

  • I had a Kenmore side by side with this problem and I figured it out. Permanent fix. The problem is in the small metal rod that has a few bends in it. My kids would take the ice drawer out and dump it into a cooler then slam it back into the freezer with no regard for the position of the little metal rod which has a small spring...to keep it in the right position but can be jarred out of position.

  • dude you absolutely bought a dud when u bought a SAMSUNG! worst brand out there... after warranty service is a nightmare and u will never be able to get parts

  • It's a common problem not at all unique to Samsung, it happens on most side-by-side door dispenser units at some time or another and can be a real pain in the butt to get fixed once and for all.

  • i love crushed ice!

  • simple. Open the door and get the ice yourself. That is the best and cheapest fix.

  • Simple. Replace the ice-crusher solenoid. Or advise the engineer to change it. Not a big problem. I work on Samsung appliances for a living.

  • @20EFC Job security is always good

  • @trahan1011 Thanks brother! I hope they keep making these appliances. Check out the RS21, its paying for my house.
