Big Ups to Joe and everybody from Fat Beats. Reminiscing when you guys were on 9th St. it was the beginning of Finsta Bundy's history and you guys showed us love. I appreciate being part of that era that helped me know myself and my place in Hip Hop.
damn...i'm from rome and i always wished to go there. its a kinda a place to go atleast one time in the life and i planned a trip to ny for the next year...first stop: fat beats! its a shame
reminds me of what KRS-One said in Fatbeats in 2004: "You need to support places like Fatbeats, because years from now when it's gone, you'll be saying to yourself: 'Man, I wish Fat Beats was still around, i wish i bought more records, I wish I showed more support"...R.I.P. Fat Beats, indie Hip Hop will never be the same imo...
I Like to thank Johhny Juice for all the support! big up to PERCEE P whom you could find out in front of Fat Beats NYC and L.A. stores. PERCEE would tell me when he would stand out front in NY rain sleet snow whatever weather Now you can still find Percee in front of fat beats selling his cd and his PERSERVERANCE title in the stores.
Thats part of the inspiration behind his release. FATBEATS and PERCEE P are synonymous. ICE
i started going to fatbeats way back when it was at north vermont in los angeles. i had to take mad buses up there or get a ride from my moms (i live in west LA). now its on melrose "thanks fatbeats people!" this store is a big part of my life and hiphop here in los angeles. thank god for fatbeats!
Fat Beats is more than words can describe and probably can't gauge all of the influence that it has had and continues to have. Fat Beats has played a large role in my radio show (click my name for more info) which in turn affects many who would've otherwise never even listened to hip-hop. much love and infinite thanks the the beats; Fat Beats! check my profile for fat beats in-store performances...
A catalyst for starting the independent hip-hop scene, Fat Beats has been there from the start and is still around staying true to the ideals that made them so popular in the first place. They're releasing the new Ill Bill album in 2008 after distributing Non Phixions first singles in 1996. They also shed light on the budding career of a young producer/emcee from Detroit named Black Milk who is now one of the biggest names in indie hip-hop. I'm rolling with FB til the wheels fall off... BIG UP!
So glad Khan gave them props in his battle vs Madness. Already put in a few orders. Thanks for keeping the hip-hop spirit alive.
