OMG this is stupid. these airliners are an epic fail: because when there is a small amount of oxygen in the plane the gas masks should drop down on the passengers and they should have used it but the gas masks diddnt pop out? thats so an epic fail!..or is it switched to manual??
i heard that this one professional tennis player was supposed to be on this flight home after he got knocked out of a tournament, but in the last minute he decided to stay and watch the rest of the tournament
Nope, its definately got 4 Engines{Dials and Thrust levers}.Also used to work with Vicky 10"s for years, so it looks familiar, furthermore, didn"t think MD80/DC9 had Engineers stations.Could be the VC10 at Duxford.Or perhaps even an RAF one. We"ll never know.
I go for a parachute for all passengers and pilots as well as the crew. Or a wing drop design that when the wings burst there must be a switch to disengage them and then a two huge parachute will pop out from the front and the back of the plane. Just a thought but it might work and save LIVES
Well, first you have to find if it is possible for current parachute systems to be used on large aircraft. I know military pilots (NOT military-owned aircraft, but actual fighter jets) eject, but I am not sure of the practical possibilities with commercial jets.
I guess the main problem is a cost question. But I believe that if people had a choice, they would choose to fly on an aircraft equipeed with parachutes (of either designs) even if the ticket costs more.
exactly, there's something like 10,000 lbs of force pushing the door shut.... you have no chance of opening that in midflight unfortunately... you're completely stuck on board... i always thought though, why dont they maybe make the floor drop out or some shit, and maybe if they cant put paraschutes on every seat, maybe they can use huge parashutes and drop out like 5 rows of seats at a time or something, and drop them out in an emergency, and everyone paraschutes their way down...
I've always tought of that too. But there is only 1 problem; U are forgetting the luggage hold, center fuel tanks, and watse drains that run beneath our feet in an aircraft.
did u know that a DC-9 has a better chance of surviving an emergency landing into the sea because of it's design, but a boeing 747 would just disinterhrate becuase the engines in the wings provide as scoops for masses of water to get in and break the plane up, but a DC-9 has the engnes next to the the tail fin :P
i think that there all passenger seats should have ejection capability, just like we see on fighter jets. The emergency ejection botton should be with the pilot, hence all passengers can safely eject in midair by opening up their parachutes
Air Canada Flight 797. 23 fatalities out of a total of 46 people onboard. They fed the fire by opening a door, causing an influx of air, and everybody should know that flames + oxygen = bad.
Air Accidents Investigation Branch recommended Boeing in 2003 after the Helios 737 run out of oxigen and presurization...to change the wire backup of the air conditioning-presourization valve in all 737´s.
Boeing currently hasn´t responded yet...so:
Each Boeing 737 is just a potential Killing Machine by lazyness of Boeing to change their systems...saving cost???IOL.
And now the best: Total Lives Killed by Boeing. Boeing 707: 2733 killed. Boeing 717: OK. Boeing 720: 175 killed. Boeing 727: 3702 killed. Boeing 737: 3272 killed. Boeing 747: 2850 killed. Boeing 757: 467 killed. Boeing 767: 569 killed. Boeing 777: OK. Total Killed= 15.215 Updated. Americans like everything huge...WOW.

Obviously they weren't safe being on the ground because the aircraft was on fire! You're not safe landed when an aircraft is on fire! Did you see what happened inside the airplane? It was torching! You can't stay in the airplane! You have to get out.
If nobody is in the seat beside you, you might want to also buckle up the seatbelt. If there is major turbulence like there was in a recent WestJet flight you wouldn't want the seatbelts smashing you.

Air Canada DC-9. It was caused by an electrical wiring problem.

similar to flight 111 they also had a fire

Is that an old VC10 David Learmont is sitting in?

no thats an md-80 or dc-9 from douglas company

It is an DC-9,proved by the NTSB.And this flight don`t have 4 engines.Only 2.

Me thinks you misunderstood, were talking about the Aircraft David Learmont is sitting in, not the DC9 involved in the incident

How interesting is it to know about what plane HE is sitting in?
What happened to the engines at 2:27?

There the Buckets for the Reverse Thrust.

so whose going to stop the aircraft from crashing into people's houses after it falls 26000 ft from the air if the pilots aren't there?
Soundninja54 4 years ago
I had exactly the same idea a while back.

but when the aircraft is around 6000+ ft the doors wont open, the aircraft is pressureized *

619danny619 4 years ago
Air Canada Flight 797 was a McDonnell Douglass DC-9.
Although Boeing outpaces Airbus in the number of air crash fatalities, Airbus is only 30 years old with its first A-300 entering service in 1974.
Human Error and terrorism are major factors air incidents as well.

Opening the door = getting out = good.
Keeping the door closed = you stay inside with the fire = you burn = bad.

YEP...then we consider that the 737 has created more deads thab the whole Airbus Fleet in their service history:
The Killer Boeing 737: 4.779 killed.
Airbus: 2.018 deads.
PD: 3.272 killed by the Boeing 737 since first A320 flight ...IOL...still ahead of Airbus totals...
American terrorism: Boeing.

First thing I ever do when I sit down on a plane. Put Bags Away, Sit down, Read Saftey Card, Put Seatbelt On. Generally in that order.
