I love my homeroom teacher. She treats us as if she's talking with another ADULT. She also could care less if something we did was TERRIBLE as long as we tried our best and continue to improve. She doesn't tolerate bullying though. She treats us as we're her kids and she genuinely loves us.

The point isn't that the kid answered the phone, the point is that the teacher broke his phone. Just because he's in the teachers classroom doesn't mean his property becomes the teachers. In any court in the country that teacher would owe him a new phone. Why couldn't he simply have kicked him out, or just been a decent person and asked him to turn it off.
