  • @Franc28

What do you mean "most" religions have supernatural elements? ALL religions do.

The attempt to control natural events by invoking the spirits/deities/energies/charms/crystals/forces/chi etc. alleged to control those events is the very essence of the superstition called religion.

  • @Tyrone2412 word is CAUSAL and correctly used, but a CASUAL viewer/commenter wouldn't bother to look up the difference . . .

  • Ok im curious what religion did u exclude, knowing ur an atheist, there isnt one u could name, still you kept the suggestion!!

why do u fail to mention it,Buddishm surely not!is it cause you sense that even the most materialistic origin ,the big bang implies a great deal of supernaturalism,in fact maybe the qualification of the supernatural is boogus and is every material from supernatural origin!!

  • hey! nice video franc28

  • peace...

  • actually mr franc23, i apologize, you're entitled to your opinion. Critisizing is fun but one just ends up hurting oneself.

  • Did you kicked your own butt because you hurt youself? i mean it is your freedom and you have a right to criticize why are you apologizing

  • Are light waves bullshit? How about sound? How about your thoughts and emotions? Are they bullshit too?

  • They are not bull shit because light waves are from light and bullshit are from bulls. These things you mentioned are self-evident that exists in nature. It think it is your question that is bullshit

  • ok

  • Are radio waves supernatural?

  • No, they are not supernatural. In, fact they are used by man to communicate even million of miles apart. Where did radio came from? who created it? Are they created by miracles of your God

  • The universe exists and it is beyond our knowledge to know if it is created or not.The universe is the universe.. If God exists he has a specific identity and he acts in his corresponding identity..If you say that he is unfathomable and he is invisible he is like a ghost, fairy,or even santa claus..To believe in God is like to believe in santa claus..You can never refute me because you cannot prove your God and never was and never will be.

  • You guys can't prove the B.B. we know it happened, but once again, where did that mysterious matter/ origin/ singularity come from? EXPLAIN PLEASE!!

  • we need to find answers, not "make" them. Just like fjeffzeta said, the universe is the universe, period. We still don't have adequate knowledge of the universe's past. When science has discovered the knowledge, then we can explain the origin of the universe. Matters of space and time can't be solved by philosophy or religion.

  • but until then, lay off religion.

  • The universe is absolute. It is a metaphysicaly given fact. If you would ask me who created I say the universe was not created it's just is. Point zero is an unknowable dimension and it is beyond our power, knowledge, and reason. existence exits

  • This is just as radical as God. hahah wow see you just admitted it's beyond reason, yet people such as you are constantly ridiculing people like me and calling me such names as "stupid" for *believing* in a reason.

  • We are human being and our only means of knowledge unless you admit that you are an animal. In,that you are still using reason. GOd is beyond reason because he is nothing within the finite world. How can you know a thing that you will never know? To know things is through our reasoning mind. Why do you believe in GOd?

  • Franc28, where can I get a copy of this video if I can?

  • Franc28, i also would like to get a copy of Re:The Logic Challenge for Hard Atheists. Thanks!

  • Can an omnipotent being create a rock that it cannot lift?

If not, then it is not omnipotent.

If yes, then it is not omnipotent.

  • You know what, forget ridiculing religion. HOW do you think are universe came into existence. Do you actually believe something came out of nothing (in reference to the origin of the B.B.). Why ridicule and rant religion when you (people who use science for justification) haven't even found alien life in are universe, yet science proclaims there are some 4 million planets that can support life.

  • 4 million planets "can" support life. You know what "can" means, don't you? Why stop us ridiculing religion? Religion is a matter of faith, Science is a matter of reason. Then choose between faith and reason. If you choose faith then why not die so you can have eternal life? whether in your "heaven" or "hell".

  • no, science is a matter of a bunch of radical ideas based on empirical notions/ conjectures to explain phenomenon's. Also, just because i believe in god doesn't mean i don't believe in science. oh and if i die by means of suicide, i will go to hell. Dur!!! Oh and yes I know what "can" means.

  • Believing in both science and god is like telling me you believe in contradictions. You know that shouldn't happen. You shouldn't believe that A is A and also not-A. You are breaking laws of logic.

  • are you dumb. get your reasoning straight. first of all your analogy sucks. second i believe that if i throw something in the air, it will come down. third, i believe in a god. you don't know any shit about laws of logic/ fallacies, so don't talk.

  • "The Argument from Intimidation is a confession of intellectual impotence." Ayn Rand

Live your life and die and let's see if you go to heaven or hell. You'll just die. Because if you die, you die. Law of Identity says so. and I know shit about law of logic/fallacies. and I'm not talking, I'm typing. lol

  • '"m not talking, I'm typing." Don't be so literal. "talk" can also be said interjectionally as a trope to insinuate communication. Allow me to be literal like you: you can die and come back alive; in general this temporary death is due to cardiac arrest. Oh and if your going to state a fallacy, make it coherent on your point and say why you believe it that way because me believing in God doesn't classify as that fallacy. See God hasn't been proven to be fallacious.

  • What created the universe? You are looking for something that is more, to something you think is absolute? You are looking for something necessary that you believe that the universe is just a contingent pointing to this necessary something? Have it come into your mind that the universe is absolute that it is necessary and the only contingent is the axiom of our consciousness?

  • I can admire the fact you're trying to sound smart, but try and make your sentences more coherent. Your's are pretty vague. Also, how can consciousness not be certain? Like what the fuck are you saying? Is your period button broke or something, because you use question marks when not asking a question.

  • note to self:

    Don't argue with a fool

  • I love how you're evading my questions normanbim. I say something that totally defames you any you change the topic.

    Note to self:

Don't argue with atheist because there to easy to defame.

    Note to self # 2

    Don't argue with an idiot.

  • check your premises. you said atheists shouldn't rant religion and you yourself don't no much about your religion. You keep putting up replies to intimidate people but in reality your not making any point at all. you just want to argue for the sake of arguing with people because you can never come up with a sound argument. you keep mentioning how you've defamed me but you never gave objective proof on how religion should not be criticized.

  • really? Let's just forget that I got confirmed, became a peer leader, and many more things that involve boosting my mentality for God. Plus you don't have to believe in a faith to believe in a creator. (but I do anyway.) oh and religion shouldn't be criticized in such a way that it's offensive... And incase you haven't figured out yet, I find this title pretty disturbing. So that's the reason for justifying my comment. What's yours?

  • my justification is that people should live in reality and not just blindly serve for something they have no clue of. what religion, especially christianity asks from you is that you should believe even if you have no proof of that belief and that is what aodara and I am disgusted with. we live in a country where religion is a obligation and not a matter of choice. The country is Philippines by the way.

  • Says from a person who believes EVERYTHING about science, when science it self hasn't proved many of its theories. There are so many thing science hasn't explained yet that have nothing to do with God. Like the double slit experiment. See, I'm just saying, all your justifications for atheism are more of mockery. As you may know ridicule doesn't classify as evidence. See, science it self hasn't found a beginning theory that applies to all the laws of nature.

  • but the laws science gives are evident enough. if not, then question every technology you have.

  • It's not technology I'm questioning, by rather sciences theory on creation.

  • The theory of creation is based on the idea that the universe was created. Nobody could prove it because nobody is concious enough to witness it's creation. Given you God Exists why is it he created beings that could sin yet he despises sinners? What kind of God is that? I think man thinks better than him

  • Back to ridiculing God. Maybe you should read explanations on why God does that, instead of being so ignorant and pontificating about something you clearly don't know.

  • Yeah, science hasn't prove alot of theory but science is the only means to understand the universe. Religion is founded by whim by people who are weak enough to live their life and coward enough to face reality and needs a God to make themselves comfortable of their life

  • So I guess my weak calculus bc teacher is dumb or my old chem teacher is dumb or my college math professor is dumb. try to think of a better generalization.

  • Oh and sorry that your country make you feel the way you do about religion. that's there fault and not gods.

  • yep, it truly is. because gods can't affect reality. they exist only in imagination.

  • Everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

  • I hope one day you can realize that things such as this can NEVER be proved. All you guys do is base your opinions on a misunderstanding on evidence and when you do find evidence that refutes your opinion you discard it. An example of this is like proving America is just. There are many things that support/ refute this opinion.

  • i concede. i can't argue with a guy full of wisdom and knowledge since he is 101 years old. check his profile

  • i think somebody is emotionally intense here

  • yeah, i agree. and it is not ben, or jeff, or aodara or me.

  • I guess if that's what you call being open minded.... To an extent.

  • If God made a son which is 100% man and 100% God, how hard can it be for you to spot the fallacies there. Let me tell you, if Jesus is 100% man and 100% God, then he is 200% bullshit.lol

  • Hahah I love how you totally changed the topic because I raped you on the last one. (and once again I'm using rape as a trope to mean some kind of destructive treatment.) oh and sarcastic. Oh and honestly I don't understand everything about my religion, just like how you obviously don't understand everything about science.

  • I looks like I won't be explaining to someone who intends to argue for the sake of arguing. I was just asking and you didn't even answer in any one of them. I could see why you name yourself dabateme.

  • My answer for everything is God is supernatural. It says right in the bible no human being fathom him. Go ahead, ridicule my logic and say my reasoning applies to circular reasoning. I don't care about you trying to prove a supernatural being. Plus, I doubt you ever looked at that site I sent you. That was one of my answers.

  • no human being can fathom him? what you are doing my friend is already fathoming him. idiot.

  • Wow! You obviously don't get what I'm saying. What I'm saying is no human can fathom him just like no human being can fathom quantum physics.

  • no, you are the one who doesn't get what i am saying. by saying that there is a god, is already fathoming him my friend. there is something and not fathoming is a contradiction in terms. check your premises.

  • There's a difference between knowing what he ask and knowing everything about him. It's exactly like knowing how to substitute numbers into formulas and how to *derive* that particular formula. So don't give so I'm fathoming him.

  • definitions from Oxford Dictionary.

    fathom- to comprehend

god(Christian and monotheistic religions- the creator and ruler of the universe.

My comment: Not fathoming? you have a definition for god!

  • I know what fathom means. But there's is different levels of comprehending: There's knowing without understanding and there's deriving. Like you can know how to substitute values into a formula such as the quadratic formula or you can derive it yourself and see why it equals that. Just face it... I'm right; that's a great analogy.

  • so you say that you know god but do not understand god that is why you are not fathoming? he came down in your mind and revealed you some things so that you might know him? or you heard it from other people who just followed that cycle that ends up with fishermen trying to explain reality?

  • Yeah right, I read from a fairytale exists and I believe it. I even don't know where it came from and I believed in it without question because it is old enough to be disprove

  • research about this before you pontificate.

  • Honestly, just get over the fact you can never prove the inexistence for God. Also, I know I can never prove God either. But one question remains: where did matter come from.

  • yeah, just think about that until you die.

  • If you can find an answer go ahead. I'll have fun disproving your scientific answer with other scientific laws/ theories.

  • i am no scientist, and i will not waste my time with it.

  • Then why are you ridiculing me for believing in God. (And don't say your not). Honestly, we can never prove God nor prove how nothing became something. So I chose God; you chose what ever you want. But don't ever try and make me look dumb just because I believe in God.

  • because you are being irrational.

  • why? by wondering how nothing came into existence in the origin of the B.B.

  • Don't worry I believe in santa claus too. I don't know where he came from but i recieve gift every christmas form him. I can prove to you that he exists becuase I have a fairytale book that said so

  • godandscience (dot) org (slash)apologetics (slash) unicorns

ww w dot (site) dot com

  • being an atheist doesn't mean you are a scientist, true atheists are advocates of reason.

  • Hmm...you didn't understand my questions. Anyway I won't argue with you, its your choice, your will, and your life. I would even give to you your victory in a silver platter. You could even laugh at your victory or go to the top of the empire state building and shout 'I won my argument!', I do not care and will not. I can only say, "nice talking to you Mr. Debateme."

  • matter came from something and that something came from another something. Nothing much to say

  • and what did that other something come from? and then that something come from. and then that something come from. so on.....

  • The answer for that is you cannot create something from nothing. If you can create debate me from nothing I will be your slave forever and YOu can kill anytime you wish. YOu are asking me to go out of my nature and to know the things I can't. It is like you are trying a frog to fly.

  • you just contradicted the B.B. origin point.

  • Ex nihilio creation is mathematically possible, read Andre Vilikin and look into a vacuum tunneling from zero dimensions

  • debateme, you really are an idiot, i tell you.

  • Really? How? Ridicule doesn't classify as evidence. Plus when ever we give you guys evidence you ignore it. Hypothetically, even if you were possessed by God himself you would discard it as an illusion. That's all atheist do.

  • evidence? what evidence? how can you have an evidence for something that doesn't exist.

  • Hahah your so dumb. Your first premise contradicts your entire argument. Monotheism religions believe a supernatural being created something, but science believes that the B.B. singularity blew up creating existence and time. My question is "what created this origin science speaks of". You science freaks probably answer it with the U theory saying two branes collided. But even then "what created these two brains". Don't throw stones if you live in a glass house.

  • nope. Big Bang is a theory. You know what a theory means don't you?

  • of course but how would you explain the begining of everything.

  • You're evading my quiestion.

  • Anyone who understands this proof isn't a theist. Theists are all too logically ill-equiped to understand this.

  • Thanks for pointing out that 'supernatural' is a broken concept. A set of negative traits, devoid of any universe of discourse, is necessarily ontologically bankrupt.

  • Wonderful.

  • absolutely wonderful!!!!

  • Awesome!
