  • how could anyone ever dislike this.. shame on those two

  • I LOVE MR. ED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Wilbur does something with his finger at 1:03.

  • I find the lack of my little pony comments disturbing.

  • I loved this song, had it on record, as a little boy when it came out.

  • mister ed is so smart and beautiful.

  • Did you know that the guy singing this is also the alien with the eye in his forehead behind the counter in the Twilight Zone episode where the busload of people stop off at a luncheonette because the bridge is out?

  • For a guy my age, I know what Mr. ed is and I like it.

  • Mister Ed stands in back of Wilbur- hence the origin of the term 'backing vocals'

  • @spectrum10 Actually, before Mr. Ed was a TV horse, he was a backing vocalist in Nashville. In the late 60s, he was a member of The Stone Ponies.

  • Oh so did I, I thought it would be the song when I started watching it. It brings back memories and still enjoy Alan Young and Connie Hines, and true so glad they are with us. I saw Alan Young in person in 1967 he was so nice. (I am 60 years young lol).

  • @lindy3812 Connie Hines passed away in December, 2009.

  • Ah, what a blast from my particular past! I used to have an album (records, remember them?) of this entire episode...including that "fabulous" song!

  • do you know where I can find the episode for free??? I have only seen a small part of it and I really want to see it!

  • I know I really want to see that one

  • @mozartfan126 I know the name of the episode. If you would like to know, just ask.

  • @BLACKPUFFLEXTREME1 ya thatd be awesome what is it?

  • @mozartfan126 Its called Ed the Songwriter.

  • This and the one where Ed is swiping Mr. Addison's apples are my favorite. Thanks for posting this gem!

  • Huddle400, your dad did a helluva job, I can't get this song out of my head!

    E3

  • As the singer's daughter, I can tell you that my Dad sang and wrote all of Mr. Ed's songs, but the speaking voice of Mr. Ed belonged to another actor - Jim Backus perhaps?

  • The speaking voice for Mr. Ed was the former movie serial cowboy, Alan "Rocky" Lane. Mr. Ed is my all-time favorite classic TV show, and this episode tops the favorites list.

  • Allan "Rocky" Lane :D (Two "L"s)

Long live Alan Young and Mister Ed!!!!! :)

  • I don't really think either Mr. Lane or Mr. Ed cares how it's spelled these days.

  • haha, maybe not, but I was just saying it for reference purposes, just in case someone wanted to look it up...! :-p

  • I love these songs from the show! Your Dad sure made alot of kids happy, I've been singing the pretty little filly song to myself for as long as I can remember at least 40 years, Oh and the empty feed bag song! Your dad did a great job!

  • I love those songs too, and that is why I made the music cd, "Mister Ed Unplugged," which pays tribute to the late Sheldon Allman.

  • Comment removed

  • When I discovered your Dad had written longer versions of "Empty Feedbag Blues" and "The Pretty Little Filly," I thought it would be a great tribute to his talent, to record the longer versions, and have the vocalist on these songs, simulate your Dad's style as close as possible.

  • I just caught this episode this morning on Retro TV! Huddie, I knew that somebody else did Ed's singing. It was your Dad! I assume he's passed on? Alan Young and Connie Hines are still with us; isn't that wonderful? My husband and I are big fans of the show (we're in our 50s lol).

  • undoubtedly, the greatest scene in TV history

  • i love mr.ed!!! hes awesome i would love to see the whole episodes but i cant i love him though! awesome vid!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I got the DVD of this and now I can't get this tune out of my head. *5

  • Omg I so want an mp3 of this now!

  • how great it is to see ed again...i used to lov ethis show

  • I love Mister Ed

I wish they still showed him on tv

  • i know really!

  • TV Land showed "Mister ED" for a few years before retiring it, and "Nickelodeon" and "Nick At-Nite" for several years in the 1980's. But I remember watching it in syndication when I was a kid, when it aired early evenings along with "Dennis The Menace," "The Adventures of Superman," "The Rifleman" and "The Twilight Zone," also sometimes a syndicated, Canadian series called "The Littlest Hobo," about the adventures of a vagabond German shepherd.

  • @Bmwest44 I second that. If you think TV Land is just awful now, raise your hand.

  • @Juliaflo Yep. They keep adding more original shows (not funny at all) and the 90s and 2000s shows. I wish I could get Antenna TV in my area. I love Betty White, but that show Hot In Cleveland is atrocious.

  • @Bmwest44 They still do show Mr. Ed. If you have a converter box.
