  • Man its like Mick and Rocky, so crazy them old timers knew wtf was up

  • wouldve been interesting to see a fight between tyson and frazier or marciano prime vs prime lol, thatd have been a train wreck with their styles lol!

  • goat

  • thanks for uploading

  • omg epic video, how can people dislike that!

  • Mike was never the same after Cus died.

  • @thehitchrules, yo bro watch rocky 5 right after Rocky moves back to Philly. He's in the gym he trained in before he became champ, its all beatup and he has a flashback with his trainer "Mick" and Mick says nearly the same thing about Rocky that Cus says about Tyson. I thought it was just a movie line, but Cus really said those things. When i heard Cus say it here it was like I heard a ghost. Watch RockyV, you'll get it. Later bro

  • I think if you live in the states you have to meet mike tyson be4 u die..! I sure would have if i lived there but i just gotta do wiht the K1 champs and Badr hari here in Holland..

Like a muslim has to go 2 mekka, every boxing fan in the states has 2 see him in real person or even see him train recreative.. So u can say i lived in the time of a Titan, and i've shook his hand...!!

  • not just from fighters point of view..but as normal person..prime Tyson was the greatest world heavyweight champion of all time!!!

  • people always talk about tysons power but honestly i think his speed was even more impressive!

  • @dirtyjew1974 Exactly I never seen any heavyweight as quick as Tyson. 20yrs old Tyson can beat Klitscko.

  • @dirtyjew1974 I think the combination of his speed, size, power, and intimidation just made him a monster

  • @chickensodelicious wasnt too big to be very fast and wasnt too small to hit like a truck, he was well balanced but i still think his speed is his biggest asset, speed is power!

  • @dirtyjew1974 I think he is also very fluid, on that video where he isadowboxing,He was at most 190lbs, I think he is 15 years old on the shadowbox clip

  • The very last line that Cus said, is the same exact line said in Rocky by Mickey.

  • 0:23 Tyson didnt bob and weave like Joe Frazier. Frazier ducked up and down like a jack in the box. This was easy for a good boxer to time. Tyson bob and weave in a U motion. Down over then up. I hate when people compare them because Tyson style was much more complex and effective for dealing with all types of boxers.

  • Mike Tyson, phenomenal athlete, awesome boxer, but not the greatest and not even in the top three. A fighter's legacy depends largely upon his opponents and how he overcomes them. Mike Tyson failed to step up in every major fight of his career.

I like Mike, especially the person he's become, but he's not among the greatest boxers.

  • @hootiepaladin I dont know if your the same guy because I had a nice debate with another dude who made some good points like yourself. However I feel that the prime Tyson from 86-88 was a top 5 heavyweight. Elusive hard to hit square because of constant movement. Iron chin that we only found out later due to him not training in the Cus peek a boo style. Fastest hands in boxing with KO power in both hands. Unlike most heavyweights throws punches in combos. I would put him 2nd or 3rd.

  • Hahah seeing cus and ali doing that was cool as hell confident his fighter can beat alis style, and ali same old nigga ALWAYS sure he cant be beat.

Ali: Naw hes not that good

    Cus: yes he is.

  • @BiggieSmalls11111

He was actually talking about Joe Louis, lol.

  • @chiconspiracy Really??

  • @BiggieSmalls11111

This was after Ali had almost 3 years off due to his refusal to join the Army, and Cus thought he would be in trouble due to ring rust. It turned out he was mostly right, since Ali got knocked down in the fight.

  • @chiconspiracy

Wait, I mean Joe FRAZIER. My bad, wrong Joe

  • @chiconspiracy OH!!!!!!! that makes much more sense, i was like joe louis?? THat nigga didnt even use a peakaboo style LOL But yea that makes way more sense Joe Frazier did use that type of style.....and yea didnt he win the fight aswell?? Shit cus was REALLY right lolol

  • good speed + good technique is just a devastating combination.

  • Man this Taco dude looks like he weighs 100 pounds .. LMAO...

  • Wonderful and beatufil clip men, thank you very much for this. Iron Mike one of the biggest boxers of all time. Praise be to Allah

  • Unfortunately, I think Cus did leave too soon. He left before Mike was able to take care of himself. I honestly believe that if Cus were around in the 90's Tyson could have beat anyone.

  • cus and ali!! HAHA two legendary peeps xD

  • this is touching great story

  • so explosive

  • Does anybody find Cus' speech from 5:10 onwards familiar? It was in Rocky 5 where Rocky goes to the gym and remembers Mickey training him. There's some other D'amato quotes in the movie also like fear being a fighters best friend. Kevin Rooney was in the movie towards the end playing as Tommy Gunn's trainer and I presume that Sly picked his brain on boxing philosophy, which he learned at the feet of Cus. Cus D'amato was a genius when it came to teaching boxing, especially the mental side've it!

  • @ShaddowHuntter Hi, You were commenting on Cus D'amato's quotes. Wanna see something that will blow your mind? Re-Watch this video...now remember these parts: 2:30 where the commentator talks about 'fear'. 2:55 where Cus talks about the Hero/Coward being one, and 5:10 where Cus talks about the affect that Mike has had on his short remaining years...Now,on Youtube look up: The Tao of Kung Fu # 1 (Fear is the only darkness) , # 14 (Cowardice is wisdom)...and # 15 (the soul only records growth).

  • @dabidosan Hey bro, thanks for that. I'm not a Kung Fu fan but I did enjoy those clips.

  • Watching Tyson at the table is kinda like watching a Lion surrounded by humans

  • 5:00 Rocky 5 ?

  • Kid Dynamite . Exceptional boxer .

  • prime ali

    louis

    lennox lewis/tyson

  • lol Cus looked good against Ali further evidence that Tyson was the greatest ever.

  • @androidLA HAHAHA Tyson is one of the greatest guys ever, don't get me wrong, but he lost twice to Holy and once to Lewis. I.E., he lost to all other great heavies of his era. He can't be considered the best ever if he wasn't even the best of his generation.

  • @DestroyerAlexandros I think the problem is like Ali he wasent the same fighter when he got out of jail. The difference with Ali when he got out is he still had the will & disire to win. When Tyson was fighting after jail I always told people he didnt have the same hunger & raw brutal aura about him. Prime Tyson 86-88 that was elusive constant head movement, body punching/punched in combos is the fighter people talk about when they say hes the best. This version would own Lewis & Holyfeild.

  • @b7r7u7c7e You have a point. But look, maybe prime Tyson would beat Lewis and Holy. But what's the point if he brought his prime shape only 1% of the time? Look at Lewis, he brought his best most of the time. He didn't train too much for the Vitali and was in trouble there but he still managed to hang on. Put Tyson in the Vitali situation and he'll give up, like he did against Douglas and Holyfield.

  • @DestroyerAlexandros I agree. My point is you have to put these type of match up in context. For example Foremen got beat by Ali because Ali had a better game plan. And the heart and disire to carry it out. But the 22 year Ali of 65 would have destroyed Foremen by superior skill...simply because he was faster, was hard to hit, and had better movement. And there is the difference with Tyson when he got out. He didnt believe in himself. This is a character flaw. Vitali would ko Tyson after jail.

  • @b7r7u7c7e well after he got out he became champion again so he seemed to have believed in himself to me.

  • filaraki ti nomizeis gia ton Mayweather>??

  • @dinko1996 exei treli taxitita , alla oxi san ton Roy Jones jr

  • @Boybloue pisteyw pos einai o kalyteros p4p boxer ston kosmo aythn thn stigmh...!

  • @DestroyerAlexandros He didn't give up he lost his temper with Holyfield and Vitali was actually beating Lewis the fight was stopped from cuts. I think Rocky Marciano would beat everyone Tyson fought.

  • @sonofaballer96 Yeah Vitali was beating Lewis but Tyson gave up against Holyfield clearly. Tyson didn't even try to adjust his tactics when they weren't working. He didn't try to go to the body. He was like one of those little kids that attack you, you put your hand on their forehead and they can't get to you but they keep running forward and trying to get you. Anyway, I highly doubt Marciano who is the size of most super middleweights nowadays can hang with Holmes or Lewis.

  • @DestroyerAlexandros No he wasn't he was a heavyweight and he fought people bigger than him, size doesn't even matter, Rocky trained harder, ran more, rested less, and punched harder. While most people would sleep he would train and even when he woke up he trained even more. Rocky would be a cruiserweight today just like Holyfield was and he nearly beat Holyfield. Holmes hasn't even beat a lot of good people except for Ali when he had parkinsons disease and Rocky trained to his weight.

  • @sonofaballer96 Huh? Holyfield didn't fight Marciano.I know that size matters cause I'm 6'6 260 lbs and I've sparred world beater middleweights in the gym. No matter how good they are I'll always beat them because of the size and reach advantage. Rocky fought mostly guys who would be classified as lightheavyweights nowadays. Back in the day there weren't any humungous Russians and steroid freaks in the sport. Rocky was 190lbs, that's less than what Hopkins weighs out of season.

  • @DestroyerAlexandros Before fights Rocky was naturally over 200lbs, I know didn't fight Holyfield I wasn't born last night and Rocky beat some good heavyweights. He just didn't have lots of title defenses. Have you even heard of Jack Dempsey or Manny Pacquiao or even Max Baer? All of them beat people who were bigger than them and I doubt you would beat someone like Floyd Mayweather Jr.

  • @sonofaballer96 First of all I'm absolutely sure I stand more than a 50% chance against Floyd Mayweather in a street fight because I've done lots of grappling too and I have about 100 pounds on him as well as 30 cm in height and reach. In a boxing session he'll beat me of course. When Pacman goes up 7 lbs to a bigger division and beats the champ it's a big achievement, but Jack Dempsey wouldn't be giving up 10 lbs to today's heavyweights. He'll be giving up 70-80, as (continues)

  • @sonofaballer96 well as a billion inches in height an reach. Back in the days of Marciano and Dempsey they traveled 5 days a week, they fought 2 times a month, they smoked and drank alcohol, they had day time jobs. Now they study tapes of each other, they fight 2 times a year, they have a whole bunch of scientists monitoring their heart rate, their diet, everything. Saying Dempsey stands any chance against a guy like Valuev is like saying Bjorn Borg will beat Rafa Nadal.

  • @DestroyerAlexandros Max Baer fought Primo Carnera who was the same size as you and most likely better than you while he weighed only a little over 200 and 6'2 and a half. Baer also fought Joe Louis and lost to him and Louis even beat Carnera and weight doesn't equal strength and strength doesn't mean punching power. A lot of today's heavyweights are fat and not muscular or fast. Food is also a reason why people are so big today.

  • @sonofaballer96 You're right, but Baer was a small heavyweight. He also beat Joe Louis once if I'm not mistaken. Punching power is mostly a function of your ligaments' strength, core strength and leverage.

  • @sonofaballer96 BTW how old are you? I just want to know because when I was 15 I thought size didn't matter too.

  • @DestroyerAlexandros I'm 15 and I know size doesn't matter unless this is football because in a fight the more skilled person would win. Muhammad Ali/ Cassius Clay didn't smoke or drink and he lost to Joe Frazier who smoke and drank at times. Ali/Clay even sparred with Rocky and he said he was good and he said he probably punches harder than Frazier but he wasn't 100% about that.

  • @sonofaballer96 When you're 18 you'll appreciate size more. Anyway, did you see Pulev vs Sprott on Box Nation this weekend? They were talking about how Pulev is 30 yet he's considered a prospect. 50 years ago that would be considered ancient, yet today it's youth for heavyweights because they train smarter. 40 years ago in Ali's time they didn't train like today, they didn't do the high-altitude conditioning, they didn't do the under water conditioning. Saying (continues)

  • @DestroyerAlexandros Marciano would beat for example Haye is like saying Pancho Gonzalez will beat Rafael Nadal at tennis. Rafael Nadal will tear up Pancho Gonzalez if they played. Don't listen to the boxing experts, they're mostly old guys (60+) who like to remember about the old times and say how much greater they were. It's true that boxing hasn't gone THAT far due to it's nature. It's a fighting sport, i.e. it requires mostly qualities that you can't teach. (continues)

  • @DestroyerAlexandros It's true that if you put Sugar Ray Robinson in the ring today he will be a top fighter and he'll beat everyone except the best (Pacquiao, Mayweather, Martinez, etc.) But look at some sports that have a younger audience - MMA, football and others. The MMA guys don't claim Don Frye can beat Junior Dos Santos. The footy guys don't claim Pele is better than Ronaldinho.

  • @DestroyerAlexandros Mike Tyson's best trainer was Cus D'amato and even Ray Leonard wouldn't beat the real Sugar Ray. Frye would get eaten up by Junoir Dos Santos because Dos Santos is just not human. I think boxing was better back then, if you put prime Ali with David Haye at good health he Haye would lose.

  • @sonofaballer96 Sure Ali will probably beat Haye but Haye is an average fighter in his generation and Ali was the best in his generation. Also they're pretty similar in size. The division where the improvement is greatest is the heavyweight because of the influx of huge Eastern Europeans over the last 10 years and the size difference. The smaller divisions aren't that different but still, a lot of guys cut 20 lbs today. In the past almost nobody cut weight.

  • @DestroyerAlexandros No he isn't Haye beat a really good champion and lost to the best of his time and Nikolai was one of the biggest champions ever in size and Haye lost to Wladimir Klitschko who is 6'5, size matters only depending on who it is. Wladimir is bigger than Haye but he is better than Nikolai. Ali is the same size as Haye and he is faster and has a longer reach and better footwork.

  • @sonofaballer96 Don't get me wrong, Haye is the best cruiserweight since Evander Holyfield but his career as a heavy wasn't so great. I'd rank his accomplishments as a heavy a notch higher than James Toney's

  • @DestroyerAlexandros Haye is tall for cruiserweight though and Ali was a lightheavyweight before he was a heavyweight. Most boxers are better at their natural weight though.

  • @sonofaballer96 It's true. James Toney, no matter how good he was in all weightlcasses, was best at supermiddle/lightheavy because it was his natural weight. Anyway, listen to Larry Merchant's interview before Vitali-Arreola. He says that guys like Louis and Marciano stand no chance against the Klitschkos. The man's been around, he knows what he's talking about. He says that the old timers are great because of what they achieved but "it's a different game today".

  • @DestroyerAlexandros Boxing isn't great today, the best era was in the 70's because that was the toughest boxing era, today most Americans don't want to be in a boxing ring they want to be like other people. Wladimir said Haye was no Muhammad Ali in an interview before they fought. I'm not talking about things almost 100 years ago but in the 80's that's when boxing was modern like today.

  • @sonofaballer96 Theoretically yes. The reason boxing was so popular in the US was because there were a lot of poor people there 50 years ago. Blacks and Hispanics didn't dominate because they're magically better than other people, it's simple - they were poor and sport was their only way out. But don't underestimate the current era. The Russians of today are the African Americans of yesterday. There are a lot of poor people in former Soviet states that are filling up (continues)

  • @sonofaballer96 boxing's ranks and they're just as hungry/desperate as the African Americans were 50 years ago. But here's the key - the Soviet states funded combative sports like CRAZY. Look at the Olympic wrestling, boxing, weightlifting, judo, etc. It's stacked with Russians who were poor, desperate BUT had access to technology and unhuman training methods. Google Alexander Karelin

  • @DestroyerAlexandros I looked him up and all I can say is that he was born for wrestling. I'm African American myself and I think the black race was just ahead of their time, they still are, everything black people love they dominate.

  • @sonofaballer96 The WASP would love to disagree.

  • @b7r7u7c7e He had head movement in the early 90's and when he fought Holyfield it's just that Holyfield was a great fighter. Tyson still had a reason to fight before he beat Ruddock. His prime was 86-92. Even Kevin Rooney said he could of still been good after jail and if he trained hard enough he would of beat Lewis. His former trainer Atlas even knew he was going to do something bad to Holyfield before he fought him the second time before he did it.

  • @androidLA ur a idiot tyson was not the greatest ever, he come up short in the biggest fights of his career please learn boxing.

  • @androidLA Ali fought and beat Floyd Patterson twice who had the same style as Tyson and the same trainer, Ali wasn't even dancing around and he would hit an old man.

  • Cus robbed Mick!!!

  • @ga7001 who the fuck is Mick ? !!

  • Best video on youtube. best compilation. and the ending was sick as hell with the silence during Mike's shadowboxing.

  • 0:20 ... fastest old man EVER! ... and a hero! cheers.

    SMEAR CAMP

    1.

  • 5:00-5:41, THAT WAS IN ROCKY 5, anyone else remember it?

  • @500377770 The Rock story is lossely based on Mike's life. Rocky's trainer Mic is based off Tysons trainer Cus.

  • @realityIZanILLUSION too bad rocky was made in '76 and tyson got known in '85? rocky was originally based on Chuck Wepner(rocky) vs Muhammad Ali(Apollo Creed). however i can see rocky V being loosely based on tyson amongst other things.

  • @bluflarp The story seems similar to Tyson. An old man trains him. The old man gives the same speech to the boxer (Micks speech to Rocky in Balboa was the same speech Cus gave Mike)The old man dies. The boxer fades from glory. The boxer loses all his money etc yeah Rocky 5 was similar. I cant remember but i think there was a Don King type charater who took advantage of Rocky financialy. I didnt mean it was strictly based on Mike from the beginning. Anyways.

  • 5:41 - 5:50 OMG. its feakin amazing

  • @BestHappyEnglish it's speeded up. Look at how atlas moves at the end. I've seen the real footage and it isn't as fast as that

  • @krag3r No. It's not sped up. The real footage is as fast as that. The real footage just had the sounds which helps enhance the realism of the video.

  • tysons handspeed at the end looks speeded up...until you see the kid in the backround moving in normal time, lol. tysons hand speed was incredible

  • @swiney007 i was thinking the same thing

  • @swiney007 It was slightly sped up

  • Cus was a genius.

  • Wow...great d'amato footage. Great vid.

  • where is the clip from 1:33 where tyson is sparring..iv been trying to find that...iv seen it before and am wondering if its still on youtube...could you tell me where you got it?

  • Cus was fast for a old man!!

  • always and forever....... MIKE TYSON !!!!!!!<3

  • good job man

  • WOW GREAT VID! TRULY AWE INSPIRING, THANKS!

  • Tyson's speed is fast its annoying, im trying to learn his technique but his movements are too fast to see!!! thumbs up if you're having the same problem

  • @2058226mm nope, i destroy my friends when we box. MUHAHAHAAAA

  • @aydemirbeslenay im talking about the video!!! how is ur comment a reply to mine? im confused

  • @2058226mm you said "thumbs up if you're having the same problem" about learning tysons techniques becuase they're too fast, and i know his tecknique and use them on my friends, which i shouldnt do becuase they are so rubbish at boxing its really like punching a moving boxing bag

  • @2058226mm thats tysons technique u will never learn it ever !! every boxer has there own technique even if there both outside fighters they have diofferent techniques u have to learn ur own ! it could be a tiny bit like tysons but never the same

  • @wereareyoumarn dude of course, its tyson we're talking about!!! who the hell can copy him

  • @2058226mm i kno he was out of this world

  • this videos benifits me and my students thank you so much

  • It's a shame that Cus died, Tyson would've been way better off if he would've stayed under his wing...

  • THANK YOU FOR REVEALING HIS SECRET
