this song comes at the exact right place in the set, that's what makes it so eye opening. I went back to the album version after this show and love it, but it's just sooooo good in this set order.
@stiveswalker Completely irrelevant and is not answering my question. What does that even mean? Pink Floyd is a great band to anyone who thinks so. Radiohead is a great band to anyone who thinks so. I see no use in comparison.
@Tengent I say this because the two bands represented what was best in music in their times, in the 70's pink floyd, and radiohead today. you understand now??
@stiveswalker Sure, but I still don't see why anyone needs to bring any other band into the picture. Lady Gaga is the Led Zeppelin on my generation! Is there really anything wrong with that statement? I'm trying to say that you don't need to express your appreciation of an artist by referencing another group. But alas who gives a fuck. What a nice way to spend my Saturday afternoon. >:B
@QuelMartin The "new" lyrics are: "He shook hands with the cripples and he gave them all milk. He did a few card tricks for mafia geeks, but now" and then is the final chorus.
@Stephane333 the guitar only plays on the low E string which is tuned to B... pretty low, I suggest using at least 0.10-0.46 strings... the riff is played like this: 8-5-7-3-5-1-3-0-1-/12-13----8-5-7-3-5-10-8-5-/15-10-12
@joegamba4 Wagner was German composer. Thom was suggesting something at the end sounded like his work, I'm guessing. Probably something JG was playing.

It's pretty incredible the way their live music can affect you. Until they did this show I just didn't like Myxomatosis on HTTT at all. And then I got that "click" moment while watching this... and now I love the album version. That's happened with a few Radiohead songs. I don't get that with any other band.
@wurble I unfortunately still don't like the album version. It's mostly that Thom had a monotone singing voice for it and I think that the synth should be a bit quieter in it.
@wurble I've had that happen too, but with a different song. I never got subdivisions by rush until I saw them live, and now it's one of my favourites of theirs. I always got the album version of myxomatosis, but I can't believe how amazing it sounds live.
Please stop doing this bullshit Radiohead and Muse comparison. I have listened to both bands extensively and love them both. Just because they both have high vocals doesnt mean they are the same. Dont get me wrong, earlier Muse like Showbiz does sound like Radiohead but what do you expect they loved them. Im pretty sure Radiohead drew inspiration from bands previous to them and for those stubborn Radiohead fans listen to the Beatles - Sexy Sadie, recognize that song from anywhere?
@DontLookAtTheTurtle too bad muse went in an awful direction with the last album. Compared to Showbiz, Origin, Absolution, and Black Holes, it's rubbish. They should've kept it the same.
@nofxrulez1 I like the Exogenesis Symphony, but none of the other songs really stand out to me. But I never really thought Muse sounded like Radiohead in the first place.
@CatastrophicDisease Since when did we all became Muse haters? I'm a huge Muse fan, and I think Matthew Bellamy is a very talented guy, but they are not the best band on the world. Radiohead is sublime when it comes to music. These bands SO different from eachother, that there's no problem being fan of both. At least that's how I think about it.
And that, ladies and gentleman, is you showing your ignorance. Have you ever actually listened to more than 10 of Muse's songs? Yes, I can see the given resemblence in the voice, but not even close to call it copied. The timbres of Thom and Matt's voices are almost polar opposites. Radiohead is collected, almost folky in some ways, but Muse on the other hand is like fuckin rock opera on steroids. Nice try, but listen before you make assumptions. I have equal love for both.
@CatastrophicDisease lol this song is from 2003, first muse album in 1999, for the time that this song was released muse already had 3 albums entirelly recorded.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
@blackbeltbrown I'm pretty sure that it's the distorted Bass and Guitar, but that's only from ear because it's quite a distinctive sound that Muse use quite a bit, which is what it sounds like to me.
But Jonny is adding some layers on Keyboard synth which you can hear more clearly in the second verse.
I want to say this is a top 5 Radiohead song but.....it's too hard to rate them because there all so fuckin good, but this version is un fuckin believable.
@pantapdiazho he says "It wasn't my intention/I did it for a reason/Two Guns with their cripples, and I gave them all milk/'I DID A FEW CARD TRICKS FOR MAFIA GEEKS' (The mafia geeks lines is one of my favorite ever)
@kyletheenigma damm its really what he says :D it sounds so good idk why they didnt put those lines in the studio version... well thanks for telling me what did he said in those lines :D
@majhankee I think it's because the album was completely spastic with it's songs. There was no flow whatsoever and a good deal of the songs were filler or B-Side material. Thom Yorke released an alternate tracklisting, but I forgot what it was. Sounds much better though.
To the 23 people who dislike this video...It's ok. To the 1631 fellow people who liked it...Rock on :) Radiohead is awesome and we are doing a cover of Bodysnatchers. Stay ready for it!

@baumen You don't need drugs to understand beautiful music, and you don't need to be a musician either. Just feel the music. I've been where you are right now, I dropped it along with drinking and smoking at the age of 15 and I'm 18 now.
@sfd1976 Mostly hated? o_o Surprised to hear that actually, it's surely not the best of their albums and has a couple of undeveloped ideas, but both in total and considering the majority of songs it's a smashing record. Nearly a half of In Rainbows and The King Of Limbs in whole are significantly weaker IMHO.
@jibblychupos this song was released before super massive black hole. oh wait, someones already told you, nevermind. i'll post this comment anyway seeing as i'm think aloud, well, its more thinking atype. byeeee
Hahahaha! Epic fail. Well, Muse is not a bad band at all. Their first albums are awesome. But Radiohead is better in every single way. Thom is a fabolous lyricist and Jonny... is Jonny. Through the years they have been demonstrating why they are my favourite band.
@jibblychupos Myxomatosis was made before this song idiot.. It's from Radiohead's 6th album "Hail to The Theif" made in 2003. And "Supermassive Black Hole" was made in in 2006. Again I say, Muse and Radiohead are my two favorite bands. So before you go trash talk Radiohead some more, remember this fact. Muse has copied Radiohead for 6 years starting with "Showbiz" and ending with "Black Holes and Revelations" They're become more original with "Resistance". So shut the hell up!
Thomas Edward Yorke: Musical visionary, breathtaking vocalist, environmentalist campaigner, and pioneer of the "I can't get my backpack off" dance.

Hahahaha! Epic fail. Well, Muse is not a bad band at all. Their first albums are awesome. But Radiohead is better in every single way. Thom is a fabolous lyricist and Jonny... is Jonny. Through the years they have been demonstrating why they are my favourite band.

Muse trolls are everywhere in these videos! :O
Seriously, get on with your lives and just accept Radiohead is more successful for a reason.
