  • man i just love hisaishi his songs always have alot of emotion in them!!!!

  • bravo

  • 大人の音楽ってかんじ

  • great

  • It's hard to fully realize how incredible his music is. Because it tugs so much at the soul that by the time he's done playing. You're not conscious enough to even understand what you just heard. He is a God and in 100 years I think he'll be compared the great masters of classical music. I love you... a lot.

  • i could listen to this guy's works all day...

i never really liked classical music until i heard this

  • 久石譲は、世界で最高の音楽を流します!

  • LOVE!

  • Unlike the disturbing film, this is a gorgeous creation.

  • loved the descending left hand notes around 2:00-40

  • loved the descending left hand notes

  • 7 people were crying so much that they couldnt see and accidently hit the dislike button...

  • This song is truly amazing. It's so sinister, and yet, that's the song's beauty. He is definitely one of my inspirations as a aspiring composer. Now I'm just waiting for him to do the soundtrack for more movies in the future, so I can come on YouTube and spaz over it some more lol :) Truly gifted guy!

  • oh god!ican't stop crying!

  • Like # 1429- thats me. Don't let it be the last one...

  • I love his music so much! I wonder if I could buy some CD or some book with piano sheets. No one knows him here in Holland. :C

  • Suggestions: Taylor swift... seriously wyf. go away i am listening to hisaishi :)

  • Those first notes give me the goosebumps... and they stay the rest of the song. Absolutely beautiful and amazing... an exclamation mark would not do justice to how amazing this is.

  • Who don' like this video I think are person thath's better to go to music better for as(like tokio hotel?) lol!

  • i like how ironic the two liked comments above are

  • 7 people are idiots

  • I LOVE ALL HIS MUSIC< IT"S BEAUTIFUL!

  • So cool, a true musician! See he doesn't need to move about ridiculously - the music is in his hands and ah the beautiful concentration on his mind

  • I dont have fancy words like you all to describe this song. Im just feeling it.....

  • Joe hisaishi's music spreads across all ages probably even 100 yrs old. I listened to his music since 7yrs but so what? his songs are simply amazing and special to many listeners. Its just dat many kids these days dont really listen to this kind of music, thinking its crap. But i love it:)

  • Everyone tells about their age, doesn't matte how old you are, still amazing xD

  • Honestly? No one cares how old you are, especially no one on youtube. Musical is a universal piece of art and appeals to old age grounds. So I repeat, being "OMG IM ONLY 15 AND I LIEK DIS MUSIC" Doesn't matter. It just means you're not so retarded that you can't recognize beautiful music when you experience it.

Joe Hisaishi is a master pianist and entrancing musical artist. You're not special, you just have good taste. So I repeat. Next time you're trying to impress us with your age: shutup.

  • @Kihoga You feeling better now?

  • @Kihoga you spelled "LIKE" wrong :|

  • @Treadzeze it was on purpose, he was trying to sound like a 15 year old typing... LIEK DIS YANNO?

Keep on teaching english, I HAVE FAITH IN YOU!

  • @Rkpsyy Thank you for having faith in me.

  • @Kihoga Wow, spoken like a true snob. No wonder young people don't like more traditional music forms. Oldfags like you always condescend to them. Even when they appreciate an artist like Mr. Hisaishi.

  • Comment removed

  • @gholwiih

Kihoga wasn't being critical towards him because he was a young person appreciating tradition forms of music, but instead, he was being critical at how pretentious he was and how he had to gloat about liking this kind of music at a young age. Anyone of any age can appreciate this. Kihoga mentions that too.

  • @Eyvithr Ok, maybe. I just see so many young people who have taste in music (among other things) best defined as extremely narrow. Even within the pop realm. It warms my heart to think that maybe a young person might expand their horizons, but for all I know the "young person" might actually be 45, lol. I just feel that it isn't pretentious to say that you like something when it's clear that most of your peers would ostracize you for admitting it.

  • @Kihoga everything you said is so true, for me is silly too...

  • @Kihoga

I can't even believe that there are people, who don't like this music.

    I wouldn't believe, if i didn't knew...

Forget them. Just enjoy this great feeling, which fills us up with joy.

    Thank you Joe Hisaishi.

  • @Kihoga AMEN!

  • @Kihoga "im only one years old and i love this song" - from my sleeping baby

  • Comment removed

  • oh my :D too good for me i guess. i am afraid of what will happen if i start buing all his albums.. i think i would loose all my money..

  • From the first note he reaches my heart.

  • Joe Hisaishi is simply stunning!!.. Lots of his creation i was deeply in love..

  • Das ist einfach Magie !

  • True composers create music that stands the test of time - I'm more than certain that Joe Hisaishi is one. <3

  • Very beautiful and well played.

Amazing composer. Some how this reminds me of another great composer of last century: Astor Piazzola.

  • wat is mean by hana-bi?

  • @SJing0719 It seems that it means "fireworks"

  • @SJing0719 it's composed for the film directed by Takeshi Kitano and translates as 'fireworks'

  • @SJing0719 im pretty sure it means fire-flowers. I could be wrong though

  • @Wolfaura95 yep you are right by word, but to be precise, the true meaning means sparks

  • @Wolfaura95

    Actually, Hanabi means "fireworks"

It is made from two kanji: 花火

the first one, Hana, is the kanji for flower

the second is Hi, Fire, but it can also be read as Bi

So yeah, fireflower, but only if you split the kanji, the actual meaning is "fireworks"

  • This is nice...

  • what the fuck is this? THERE ARE EMPTY SEATS!?!? how did this not sell out?

  • @BBQwatchman yo dude ive been tryin to figure that out for the longest time

  • @BBQwatchman I would go

  • @BBQwatchman would you have been there

  • @crackerms0100 been their? I would have my face pressed up to the freaking piano!

  • @BBQwatchman

He's so big-time it was too pricey..

  • @BBQwatchman They were off to the restrooms.

  • @BBQwatchman those aren't empty seats. those are the seats for people in the bathroom crying from the epicness of this concert.

  • @DeckOpinions You don't how right you are. I got to watch him in Paris, and i cried the WHOLE concert. I wouldn't have left my seat still. x) But it was impossible not to cry. His music touches one's soul. I mean ... you can feel your childhood in its work, you can feel life, you can feel pain, you can feel every possible feeling within its composition. It's absolutely mesmerizing. I couldn't be more thankful that i have seen him live. I relived all my life during this concert ... :)

  • @BINGUBANG sniffs... sniffs... that is so cheesy ;')

  • @Fleepeep ha ha~ ^_^ i know i'm a cheesy and sensitive being. But that's the pure truth so... i guess it can't be helped x)

  • This is making me cry. :'D <3

  • please. You can send the score of this song through email?!

  • ragazziiii qualcuno avrebbe lo spartito di questo incantevole brano?! questa versione però perchè io sono riuscita ad avere lo spartito però in un'altra versione...per favore è urgenteeeeeeeeee fatemi sapereeee

  • this is one beautiful song wow!!!! He plays so well I hope I can play that well one day :D

  • jo hisaishi is the best. his music really flows from his heart. just like a girl who's already posted at my age, i can really appreciate his music and love and i love it so much. he is my aspiration, one day, i hope to be like you :)

  • 2:05, my heart sank straight down my soul, then 2:16 when he flutters those keys, sent shivers through my entire body.

this is the pinnacle of music.

  • @eggplantgarden Feels like bombs dropping on your soul, doesn't it?

  • I'm 12 and what is this?

  • @gyenming Bliss.

  • I'm 2 1/2 yrs. old and I enjoy long walks on the beach and spanking it to this in between chess games against a supercomputer.

  • @dexterxc001 Yeah? Well I'm an embryo and I enjoy listening to classic FM and doing physics work all day.

  • @sunhuts What a classy, classy embryo.

  • I'm 2 1/2 yrs. old and I enjoy long walks on the beach and spanking it to this in between chess games against a supercomputer.

  • LOOK MA, NO SHEET MUSIC

  • Age doesn't matter in Music, nobody even asked how old you guys are. Joe Hisaishi is my Idol.

  • I hope one day, there WILL be a jo hisaishi channel. And that the world will finally understand that THIS is music. Unlike all that other techno garbage out there. Jo Hisaishi has in himself, created a whole new world of music that is mystical, enjoyable, strange, yet fantastically brilliant and original. I am so enthused in his amazing piano skills. Oh, and I'm 16 :) turning 17...

  • I'm 5 years old and I love this song. It really portrays the tradegy of Hana-bi while playing with the love and humour of the movie. Its fantastic. I'm really special cause im 5 and I like it. Everyone else here likes rap.

  • @sunhuts , you sure do have great vocabulary for a 5year old :D

  • que nostalgia...

  • @MyNeonRainowz I agree with u. There should be a music station play all his songs.

    Btw I'm 15.

  • è Bellissimo

  • I feel like I heard this song from a drama or anime or something....but I don't remember which one.

  • @lawbin Joe Hisashi composes the music featured in Hayao Miazaki's films- Howl's Moving Castle, Kiki's Delivery Service, Princess Mononoke, etc.

  • will stay involved with music 4 the rest of my life <3

  • *_* i cant stop listening to this song

  • Wow. that part at 2:06 looked almost sped-up!

  • There r 6 ppl clicked 'dislike'????? How can u 'dislike' this ppl? Dunt u av any emotion n dunt u feel it behind da music??? Impossible.

  • Simply beautiful. I'm only 16 and I deeply and whole heartedly enjoy this wonderful music. Most kids my age think that this is crap or boring or stupid, but i can sit there and listen to the same song for hours and enjoy myself. Actually I have been doing that with this song for the past 2 hours. Thank you, Joe Hisaishi for creating such unbelievably beautiful music. Also thank you for uploading this masterpiece. I think that even Mozart would be jealous of this.

  • Comment removed

  • @KND362 lol arents you dope

  • @KND362

I had the same musical taste than you when i was your age. And don't worry, the other guys are wrong and stupid. You should also listen to the OST of Old Boy - The Last Waltz, you will love it.

PS: Maybe Not Mozart but Chopin would be probably jealous of this.

  • @KND362 im feel entirely the same way and im only 14 and have been listening to him since i was 6 years of age. his work is truly a masterpiece that should never go unheard!!!!!

  • @KND362 I'm 16 too. I like this music as well. So? Who cares about them - they're missing out.

  • @KND362 i think if u can listen to it for 2 hrs u can play it for 2 hrs :>

i kno what it's like to to lose track of time with music ^^

  • @KND362 Wow, pretty much feeling the same here. I'm only 16 and this, right after summer, is my favorite piece from him. I've been listening to his music for quite some time now, and it still gives me chills just like the first time I heard him.

  • @KND362

Power on and I agree. Why couldn't there be a music station that plays peices like this instead of devoting themselves to Lady Gaga, Justin Beiber, and rap? I may never know. Also, I'm fourteen ^.^

  • @KND362 crap or boring or stupid = rebecca black, justin beiber and the sort im sure

  • @KND362 i experience the same thing! (I'm 11 though) I tested something that when I listen to Joe Hisaishi my piano playing is better,my drawing is better and my grades get higher! i swear try it! and the rest of the kids our age can just suck up their justin bieber and heavy metal, HISAISHI IS THE BEST!

  • @KND362

    I am 17, and I agree with you 100%.

I come from punk rock and J-Rock, but I love to take my time and appreciate such a beautiful piece.

This man is truly a genius, and I'm glad to have stumbled upon his music.

  • @KND362 101! i am same as you....i just keep listening his music for the past 1 hour, i can't review my exam...haha~~

  • @KND362 I know what you mean, I heard this song on Pandora Radio yesterday and I've probably listened to it more than 8 times already.

  • @KND362 Thank you for saying so many beautiful things about the music of Joe ! Maybe it's hard to believe, but, and without needing to give an explanation, the music of Joe Hisaishi has changed my life in a beautiful way. The power of the music is really amazing ! Harigato !

  • @KND362 You say you are 'only' 16 I'm 16 too, and I totally agree with your post I hate that the majority of people listen to tasteless music. But why use the word only? It's degrading, me bein extremely young for my year in school I'll be qualifying my final year of High school at the ags of 17 and two months. Don't say 'only' agge doesn't matter in this life friend

  • @KND362 Oh look someone who thinks they're a special snowflake. Yeah we know kids your age dont like stuff like this, I know because I'm 15! but i dont care about other kids my age disliking stuff like this

  • @KND362 16 years old ? Oh sorry, I thought you were a 21 years boy seeing your profile... What the fuck guys with lower your age.

Anyway, this music is just pretty touching.

  • @KND362 Seriously, it's not unusual to be 16 and to like this kind of music around that age. Just because of kids being influenced by the dominant pop culture around you, that's not even an argument. I mean, there are so many people younger and they enjoy this too. It's cheap to come up with age to base one's music taste.

That's why people keep on prejudice because those who allegedly complain are the subtle causes.

  • @KND362 haha, its alright to be 16 because I am 16 yet I have been loving such music for my entire life. (; my another friend, also 16, enjoys only opera music. (;

  • @KND362 Haha I'm 13.

  • @KND362 Those kids either suck ass or don't know what real good stuff is.

  • @KND362 haha not all of us i have his whole album of this song and the spirited away album from him haha

  • @KND362 2 years younger than u hehe.

  • @KND362

really? his stuff is good. among 16 yr olds in Japan they love anything associated with the movies that his music has been found in. It reminds me of my days in Japan up until the tragic end when the tsunami happened. my heart skipped a beat for the first time in my life seeing that image, and realising that I was in danger, and that a tragedy has just happened.

  • @KND362 same for me .

  • @KND362 I understand! Im 13, and ppl make fun of me for having his songs on my ipod!

  • @Linklover2021 Those people are fools and do not know what real music is. I say fuck them!

  • @KND362 me too!

  • @KND362

Strange that young people don't like this music because he writes music in childrens movies, really incredible ones. I would think this would be appealing to younger people especially imaginative ones, I can daydream for hours to Hisaishi

  • 6 People don't know the true meaning.

  • This really is an awesome piece.

  • This makes me think of the opening to Baantjer (soem sort of Belgian detective series)

  • only real pianist can play with their eyes closed!

  • @sn0wD There are no real pianists or fake pianists, though pianists theoretically shouldn't need to look at the keyboard to play.

  • @sn0wD and therefore respect should also be given to Ray charles and Stevie Wonder

  • @sn0wD Actually, he's japanese. :-P

  • @sn0wD that's the definition of a real pianist...

  • Oh man Joe thanks pal

  • You just nailed that piano. c:
