God: This sounds remarkable similar to "Steel Guitar Rag" supposedly by Merle Travis and Leon McAuliff (Bob Wills and his Texas Playboys) Am I the only one to catch the similarities ?
that's because music wasn't INTENTIONALLY made to become boring quickly to keep you buying records back then, like the argument i had with a room mate who ragged on the beatles for "being old". when i asked him if he'd still be listening to or remember any of that atonall all sounds the same seattle crap that he liked because it was popular at the time, he said "no"
"well guess what... the beatles will STILL be selling records!"
great tune! thanks for sharing and the history lesson. this is the kind of blues i actually like that's so hard to find. i stumbled on it skipping tracks at last.fm.
thanks a bunch for sharing it. i'll have to check the other side of the single out.
Nice to see anyone postin this stuff, Ive had it for years, lots of 1960 LP,s, Roots, Yazoo, Origin, Muskadine, Biograph, never sell em, priceless music, priceless artists.
Sure is a good audio quality to be so old. definitely had to be remastered

its not about who did what or when they did it, its about timeless music and the evolution of sound through history... its beautiful!!

This is the 1927 recording, not his first 1923 recording. Hawaiian Boogie, associated with Elmore James, is the same song.

@rehcets1: Hmm. The Kentucky Blues channel also claims this is the 1923 recording. Are you sure you are correct?
