@EliteAmericans I would put money on you screaming like a little girl when you get shot by a .380. Plus you ever think that this might be just a backup gun because of its size. If you can place your shots in center of mass, this gun will do the trick is all I'm saying.
Lmao @ the clowns having a year long argument on here. A Colt New Agent Series 80 w/ Tritium sights is going to be my carry option. Paying it off in September, can't wait.
I agree. England restricted the sales to citizens in it's country, and a couple years ago a gangster was arrested with a full auto Glock 18. Try to buy one over there as a citizen. Next to impossible. So how do guns laws keep guns out of the hands of criminals who buy them illegally, and don't care what the law says?
walking alone in an alley at night with only a pistol? carrying only a pistol while wearing a trench coat in a risky area is inviting disaster. carry a remington 870 plus extra ammo in the trench coat as well. the sound of the remington slide being racked will deter most armed robbers/assailants.
@tactikoolaid That wasn't the case, a hooded person dressed in black inside a car garage walking towards you with the crowbar in visible sight or raised is a situation where you raise your weapon and make it known that you are carrying a loaded firearm and are willing to shoot if you feel your life is in danger.
@ekserchina. It is legal to open carry in Michigan. Some cities have ordinances which do not allow it. Concealed carry is where you need the license. You need to brush up on your Michigan gun laws.
Yeah like the chick would have time to get the gun out of her purse and get a shot off before being attacked buy a dude sneaking up from behind her with a knife. And it's not called a CCW, its actually called a CPL or Concealed Pistol License, at least that's what the proper name of it is called here in Washington.
@65FASTBACKMAN The title for the license varies by state. CCW in some, CHL/CPL in others. CCW is a general catch-all term for carry and it's use is ubiquitous and universally understood. I agree that a purse is probably not the best carry option for reasons above & beyond it being a slow draw (risk of theft, etc), but sometimes it's the only option available. When it is, situational awareness can often take up the slack. Noticing the guy shadowing you (parking garages are echo-y as hell) helps.
@johnpatrick818 Dude you are ridiculous and obviously you think you know everything... if the guy is less than 20 feet away, which is about how far he appears to be, as soon as she reaches in her bag all he would have to do is run toward her. There is no way she can draw, aim and shoot before he is on her, even if her purse was empty. And as I mentioned in my first post "at least that's what the proper name of it is called here in Washington." Maybe you should read the post before you post?
Within 21 feet, almost any draw will be slower than an assailant already in motion, rendering your principle criticism? (method of carry) moot. The point I was making was that SA comes into play in avoiding such situations in the first place, or in already being prepared to act when they manifest. A woman reaching into a purse is analogous to a man reaching into a pocket...its not something which necessarily telegraphs "GUN!"
@65FASTBACKMAN cont: The woman in the video, having realized she was being shadowed, is perfectly capable of reaching for her "keys" and coming out with her firearm. Nor would changing her moc substantially affect her ability to react. Re CHL, you seemed to have taken issue with my comment. Which part and why? Your remark essentially reduces to "it is X, at least in A." My response was not contra, but explicative. "Yes it is X, but it is also Y and Z depending on whether you are in B or C."
@johnpatrick818 You are over analyzing this way too much. I'm simply stating that even the best of marksman's wouldn't be able to draw a weapon out of their holster, or in this case a purse, aim and then shoot a target before the "assailant" was on to them. Here is a little bit of info for you, "Position yourself about 7-yards (the distance the FBI determined a man could move in a second and a half — about the time it takes to draw a pistol and fire) away from a large (10+ inch) target."
@johnpatrick818 cont: The woman in the video, having realized she was being shadowed, is not perfectly capable of reaching for her "keys" and coming out with her firearm. Because, as stated above, she wouldn't have enough time or distance before the "assailant" ran to attack her. And no, just because she reaches in her purse doesn't mean she is reaching for a gun, but she could be getting pepper spray or some other weapon or phone to dial 911, why else would she reach in her purse? dumbass
@65FASTBACKMAN Holy sh*t. Way to strawman. I already acknowledged the implications of the 21’/7yd "rule" in my 1st response (see "already in motion"). Charging assailant at < 21’ = bad juju is not something I contested at any point (nice try though). The point about SA being made (which you cont. to fail to grasp) was that, under anything other than an ACTIVE attack, you have options. Yes, even w/ purse carry. Now to address my specific example, a woman reaching into a purse for her “keys”:
@65FASTBACKMAN (pt 2) Youre assuming that the assailant will NECESSARILY perceive the victim’s actions as hostile, which is ridiculous. If I appear unaware of an impending attack and scratch my balls (bellyband holster), reach for my keys as I approach "my” (actually random) car (pocket-H-) or drop to tie my shoes (ankle-H-), a potential assailant is not going to immediately think, "OMG hes going for a weapon or a phone I better stab him now before he gets the chance!"
@65FASTBACKMAN (pt 3) Im sure you see women reach into their purses a million times a day and I DOUBT it EVER rings your alarm bells. It is an innocuous action that has countless possible implications. Combine that with the fact that most victims are chosen b/c they look like “soft” targets, and the odds of a mugger/rapists’ thoughts immediately going to “WEAPON!” as an apparently clueless/hapless victim reach into her purse as she approaches a parked vehicle is slim.
@65FASTBACKMAN (4) SA allows you to recognize a potential attack and act 1st, which is preferable b/c action (generally) trumps reaction. Maybe action = innocuously going for a ccw. Or putting a car between you and the threat. Maybe it means 100 other things. But whether it’s a guy hovering around the atm, or a group of punks shadowing you w/camera phones (watch?v=TBzCKGp3UNU), attacks generally have pre-cursors. Being tuned in helps you avoid trouble or be prepared when it comes anyway. Asshat.
@johnpatrick818 Damn dude you sure are gay. You must be since you know what the woman in the video with the purse is thinking while she is being followed by the "assailant." haha or maybe you just know what everyone is thinking? The bottom line is that you have absolutely no idea what an "assailant" is going to do. If they are pulling a knife on you, they obviously most likely aren't a rational person and obviously you have absolutely no fucking idea what they are going to do or if they....
@johnpatrick818 (pt 2) ... have other weapons or are working with other people. Bottom line...if i were the "assailant" I would be thinking she was reaching for keys, a phone or something like a taser or pepper spray, I wouldn't expect a gun. You are a dumbass and that's why you would get shot by the chick. haha, your thinking would be "it's ok, she's probably just reaching for a condom because she think's I'm hot and she must be into kinky robber/suspect roleplay sex," haha you fucking dumbass
@65FASTBACKMAN Keep shadow-boxing numnuts. Youre either being deliberately facetious or you have the mental capacity of a f*ng walnut. Probably the latter, so let me make this EASY for you by going point by point. Re Gay: Yes. Lulz. What a diss! Re “Mind reading”: sorry to shatter your illusions. No gay superpowers. Fortunately, NOTHING of what I ACTUALLY said requires or implies that telepathy is possible/feasible/necessary, your attempts to strawman my argument (again) notwithstanding.
@65FASTBACKMAN (2) EVERYONE can make reasonable (predictive) inferences to behavior based on context cues and past experiences. This is not rocket science. You do this every day. This is why you dont hit the deck every time someone picks their nose. THIS IS WHY “scratching balls”/”tying shoes”/or reaching into a pocket/purse for “keys” en route to parked car is LESS LIKELY to instigate attack than STARING at a guy with a knife and making a rapid deliberate move for your pocket/waist/purse.
@65FASTBACKMAN (3) NOR am I discussing the actions of this particular woman in any absolute sense, except as regards the advantages of SA and how it might apply to a similar RL situation. BASIC reading comprehension, combined w/the fact that I’ve reiterated this in every set of comments thus far, should have gotten you to at least this point (apparently not). SA implies options. The fact that you think this is even contestable is laughable. Youre a fucking dunce.
@johnpatrick818 It's not contestable... you have absolutely no point and then you try to make my argument sound flawed even though it's much better than any argument that you have. In fact, what is your argument? Lol, you don't even really have one other than the fact that you think you know the mind of both a woman and a criminal haha dumbass
@65FASTBACKMAN I have reiterated my point (SA implications) in every comment set, supported with Exs both gen and specific, including 1 RL ex via YT. Your "arguments" WERE flawed, and I pointed out the specifics in each reply INCLUDING mind reading which is (again) a strawman. If, by now, you have failed to grasp both my repeated point/illustrations of your failures, you have special needs. I can only hope those needs will be met and that you will (someday) lead some semblance of a normal life.
@johnpatrick818 You have absolutely no valid argument at all. You claim you know what an assailant or perpetrator is thinking and what they are going to do in a situation as shown, which clearly there is no telling what someone will do, especially if they are under the influence of drugs or alcohol. And using technical words like what you are doing doesn't make you sound any more intelligent, it actually makes you sound even more like a dumbass with no valid argument/point. Good day to you :)
@65FASTBACKMAN Horseshit. I made no such claims, and I have addressed the mind reading strawman AT LEAST 3 times by now, IN FULL DETAIL. Youre either a complete fucking dunce or entirely duplicitous. Oh, and I apologize if a BASIC command of the English language sounds like Im being "technical" to you. For your benefit I restricted this comment to language you could understand. Short bus motherfucker.
@johnpatrick818 Dude, you think you sound smart because you use a word like duplicitous, but you sound like a dumbass. The fact is... you think you can determine what a perpetrator or assailant is going to do, which is completely and utterly ridiculous. You think that the woman in the video, while being followed, has enough time to grab her gun, aim and shoot, while it's been proven she wouldn't have enough time to do so before the perpetrator/assailant had reached her. What now Fucker?
@65FASTBACKMAN (1/4) If duplicitous sounds "smart" to you, youre a fucking idiot. Moving on from an established point to beat the dead horse: Mind reading (again) is a strawman. Active attacker/the 21' rule was likewise addressed. But hey, since you apparently have the IQ of a fucking gnat, and the reading comprehension of a dyslexic 6 yr old, lets break it down (again) real simple like! My argument (quoting past comments): "under anything other than an ACTIVE* attack, you have options."
@65FASTBACKMAN (2/4) argument cont: “SA** comes into play in avoiding such situations in the first place, or in already being prepared to act when they manifest.” Exposition: Premises(P) drawn from above are as follows: (P1) the attack is not actively underway*; (P2) victim is situationally aware(SA)** and therefore cognizant of a possibly imminent attack. Claim(C1): given P1/P2, victim has a range of possible actions/reactions, some of which are better than others.
@65FASTBACKMAN (3/4) Application of C1 to Ex. at hand: Some actions (eg ball-scratching/shoe-tying) are LESS LIKELY (operative phrase) to instigate the BG to attack than are others (eg signaling alarm). Such determinations of probability ARE NOT MINDREADING. It is NOT MINDREADING to infer that puppies are LESS LIKELY to draw alarm than balaclava-clad men with Kalashnikovs. It is A common f’ing sense inference drawn on experience.
@65FASTBACKMAN (4/4) Some defensive actions WILL appear non-threatening and are LESS LIKELY to trigger the active stage of the assault. I don’t have to “know” what the assailant is thinking to take actions based on PROBABLE consequences, and make plans which therefore increase the likelihood of fending-off/surviving an attack. In summary: “SA implies options. The fact that you think this is even contestable is laughable.” Crawl back to your grotto and knap flint you shit-for-brains-fuckwit.
@65FASTBACKMAN LOL. (1)The insults were considerably more detailed/replete than youre letting on. (2)A detailed rebuttal to your "argument" and your best response is a pass at my diss? But by all means, score points however you can, since its become patently obvious you cannot do so through intelligible args. (3)I readily admit that my vocab fails to adequately describe the breadth/depth of your stupidity. In my defense, the requisite adj.s may not have been invented yet. Its been fun short-bus.
@johnpatrick818 Your quote, "Within 21 feet, almost any draw will be slower than an assailant...." No one could draw that fast dumbass. "...that SA comes into play in avoiding such situations in the first place." So she shouldn't have parked in that parking garage or what? I guess it's her fault the guy was following her? Or, you think she needs to watch for guys hiding/following in a parking garage and she should hear them because parking garages are loud? haha you are fucking retarded?
@65FASTBACKMAN (1/2) (21ft rule): That there are vids on YT of people who have (under controlled circumstances) successfully done this (under1.5s or on a mover) belies the fact that this is categorically, as opposed to generally, true. It is a (very) difficult task to perform under rw conditions, but it is not necessarily IMPOSSIBLE. Hence: "almost any." (SA): You left out the second part of that quote, the (applicable) part that goes "or in already being prepared to act when they manifest."
@65FASTBACKMAN (2/2) Having a plan, surreptitiously getting a hand on your gun, etc. Specific Exs have already been given. Note: most of your comment attack new strawman: I never attributed fault, implicitly or otherwise. But re this: “she needs to watch for guys hiding/following.”? Define “need?” Like having a gun, SA inc. your chances of avoiding/surviving social violence (claim). Requote: “(That) you think this is even contestable is laughable.” (Rhetorical return serve): Haha, r u retarded?
@johnpatrick818 Dude you can't even spell or use correct grammar, not to mention give examples as to how someone could or should properly defend themselves or what an assailant might be thinking. You are absolutely fucking retarded, maybe you should go to school and get a job like everyone else instead of spending your entire day here on youtube making comments that have absolutely no fact whatsoever, just your own opinion, which I would believe a 2 year old before believing you hahah, fucker
@65FASTBACKMAN Youre a moron fastback. That you can switch so readily from harping about my (allegedly) bombastic verbosity to criticizing my spelling and grammar boggles the rational mind. But pray tell, what spelling errors or improper grammar can you point to that are NOT obvious short-hand attempts to save space? Contra your assertions, my argument has been (repeatedly) explicated and ex.s provided. If you cannot fucking read them, not my problem. I am a student, and I have 2 (pt) jobs.
@johnpatrick818 Haha a moron? Ok, nice comeback. And you talk like you are a fucking retard, like your mom and dad were related and then produced a child... aka you lol. You sound like a dumbass using intricate words to make himself sound sophisticated Haha a student? At what, a special ed school? haha. Dude the bottom line is you know jack shit, you know nothing about guns or perpetrators and you obviously have way too much time to be on here when you say you have school and "2 jobs" lol
@65FASTBACKMAN Comeback to what? Your mental flatulence? Im only (re)stating the painfully obvious. So...what? The sum total of your response is to blow a rasberry and claim victory? You havent presented a single rebuttal that wouldnt be improved in content by substituting it with a toot from your shit whistle. I find it hilarious that someone who talks like he never even managed to get his HS dip would mock my education. Your parents should probably have aborted you as a fetus.
@johnpatrick818 You must be some sort of fucking faggot talking about tooting a shit from a whistle? Sorry dude I don't like to stick whistles up my ass like you do haha. I think Youtube is the wrong website for you, maybe you should try one of the gay websites and find a partner on there haha
@65FASTBACKMAN You totally missed the euphemism there. Unsurprising. On a side note, its interesting that you would immediately leap to drawing conclusions about my sexual orientation (a non sequitur). But hey, you know what they say about projection. Well actually, you probably dont. Suffice it to say, fastback has cocks on the brain. Poor guy. Life through your eyes must be a horrifying kaleidoscope vision of yourself starring in a meatspin house of mirrors.
@johnpatrick818 Whatever you've got to tell yourself to get through the night. You try to use sophisticated words to make yourself sound smart, the bottom line is that you're some douche that is gay or is too afraid to talk to women because he is a loser, still lives at home in his parents basement at the age of 40, has no job/friends, AKA the reason he is always on youtube commenting as if he knows what he's talking about, and you've never seen a naked woman before in person by her choice lol
@65FASTBACKMAN LOL. And YOU "Sir" are a slack-jawed, drooling, evolutionary throwback too stupid to formulate a coherent f*ing argument. Your mouth is the asshole of the world, a veritable quasar-like vortex of stupidity. From it, torrents of bullshit continually issue and in its proximity all intelligent thought is violently torn asunder. Your words are a perpetual source of simultaneous bemusement and horror. You are so stupid it is a wonder and a pity that you can remember to breathe. ..Moar?
@johnpatrick818 "You are so stupid it is a wonder?" Really? That's the best you can come up with? Haha, what are you 13? "You are dumb." "No you are dumb." Jeeze dude you sound like a fucking kid with down syndrome... are your parents related or something? Haha, shit I'll bet you are less than 5 feet tall, have a unibrow and try to bite your own ear haha
@65FASTBACKMAN lolol, as opposed to making random shit up like you? Sure, I could call you a bow-legged, cross-dressing hobbit with a pencil eraser nub for a cock. But why would I? You are already the worst thing one could indict you for: a moron. Your inability to form a coherent argument or present a single valid rebuttal is pathetic and hilarious. Insults regarding your (lack of) intelligence are therefore pertinent (and fun). This is like poking the cage of some internet circus freak. Twit.
@johnpatrick818 Haha making random shit up? Really? What kind of "random shit" have I made up? I'm sure you will now go on to say something like, "oh I don't have time to restate everything you've said" or some bullshit excuse like that, just like your arguments have been the entire time, 100% bullshit and clearly opinionated. I'm sure you don't have a gun and have probably never even shot one before because you aren't allowed around sharp objects, weapons or within 500 feet of any school lol
@65FASTBACKMAN LOL, what? Kindly refer to, well, pretty much the entirety of the last 2 comments. Quick excerpt: "...douche that is gay...still lives at home in his parents basement at the age of 40, has no job/friends'". Stuff about my sexual orientation, job/education status, etc. It's interesting that, having failed to present a rebuttal not horribly crippled by fallacies, you have resorted to just making shit up about your opponent. As if that would invalidate anything I've said. Moron.
@Pyromaniac721 anyone who can pass a background check to get a ccw is a good citizen they dont just give them out to anyone. as a cop i feel alot safer pulling over someone who's license shows they have a concealed carry as opposed to some thug has a gun and is not gonna tell me about it untill he shoots me
Just got the 380. went to the range and put 125 rounds through it without a problem. the laser from the factory was a little off but a quick adjustment put it straight. the options you get on it are excellent for the money (around $350). Slide stops back on the last round unlike its competition (P3AT, LCP). Really surprised that Smith has made a well optioned gun that works out of the box and doesn't cost an arm and a leg. Blows LCP and Kel Tec out of the water! Way to go S&W!
@zezisgay nope it's legal in america. all states except for 2 issue concealed weapons permits. in some states they are very difficult to receive but in most, they are relatively easy. where i live (Michigan) any non-criminal who takes a class and pays for the license can carry a gun concealed. anyone who legally owns a pistol can openly carry a gun with or without a concealed weapons permit. america is just cool that way
@thlman Lol thats sick, i wish in canada you could atleast have guns in your house. I like canada but everyone is such a peacekeeper it annoys me sometimes :P
@thlman The problem with what you're saying is your second to last sentence which is a load of crap (no offense). You have to pass the CPL course which takes about 8 hours or so. NO one can OPENLY carry a gun WITHOUT a CPL. That my friend is automatically a felony. Some counties have hearings for civilians after the course and some such as Oakland county do not. Take it from me, I live in Michigan and I know my gun laws.
@ekserchina You are absolutely wrong. Carrying CONCEALED w/o a license is a felony, but carrying openly is legal. In Michigan, anyone who has a pistol registered to them can carry openly with or without a CPL as long as they don't carry in areas where open carry is banned by law. I'm a Wayne Co Sheriffs Deputy and I was educated on the gun laws by the Michigan State Police so I do know my gun laws. Please read Michigan State Police Legal Update No. 86. It's online. It should clear things up.
@thlman You're right. I do agree after reading up on that exact update you mentioned. As a deputy wouldn't you say that no one in the right mind would do such thing although it's legal. I've spent 15 years in Detroit and I haven't once come across a person that openly carried until about two weeks ago at Target gun shop (OC). I thought he was a cop but no he taught CPL classes. Although it's legal I believe it's a gun pointed at you waiting to happen. In my opinion no cop would just let that fly
@ekserchina I've seen very few open carriers in Detroit but I do know that in other parts of Michigan, many do open carry. Some fellow cops might not like it but there really is nothing they can do about it. We can't harass or arrest or point our guns at people for doing something lawful otherwise we could get sued. That would be like a cop who doesn't like red shirts pointing his gun at someone for wearing a red shirt. Personal opinions don't matter, only the law does.
@thlman Umm.. Im not sure what your talking about.. I live in MA and If I open carry a firearm Ill have the cops swarming me in a matter of minutes. And thats with a class A, non restricted large capacity license
@TheXxxRIPPERxxx I'm sure Massachusetts has stricter gun laws than Michigan. If you read my posts, you would know that I was talking about Michigan's laws, not Massachusetts. Each state enacts their own gun laws.
@thlman Well california must be a different country because they just banned or are in the process of banning open carry and a concealed carry permit cant be recieved until your 21
@babyblack94 cc permit is a 21+ in GA too. But Cali is just crazy. Everything is different everywhere else in the country. You guys are about to fall off the continent soon anyway, right?
@zezisgay lmao.. not to be a dick man, but it sounds like when it comes to guns... Canada blows. I have in my home three shotguns, two handguns, a revolver, one bolt action rifle, and a semi-auto rifle. So long as I don't go around waiving them in the air, it's perfectly legal for me to carry my guns around concealed.
@JCTheMexican Hey man, I'm Canadian and ur right, Canada's gun laws suck. It takes forever just to get ANY gun registrated, and u have to have a license for EVERYTHING which takes a lot of time and a shitload of courses. And handguns can only be fired at a range. The laws may differ in different parts of Canada though. Where in the US do you live? And with Open Carrying, are u allowed to take a handgun ANYWHERE as long as it isn't concealed?
@R3DDY2GOE I'm not sure on all the specifics, but you can take it almost everywhere with conceal and carry. The weapon has to be concealed, and obviously you can't take it to school, or a police station etc. and I live in Kansas City. Crime here is pretty bad, actually in the top three in the U.S. per capita, but the laws are much stricter in some major cities like LA and NY where gangs are more prevalent. But in good ol' Kansas Automatic weapons are even legal... gotta love America!
@JCTheMexican Thanks. I didn't know Kansas allowed full-autos. I heard in LA open carry is legal but the gun can't be loaded, I haven't been able to find anything about concealed though. And yeah haha, good ol' America!
@JCTheMexican lol dont worry its not being a dick, in canada your not even allowed to have guns period, unless you have a cfsc firearms license, and even so that only allowed you to have long rifles and shotguns, no handguns. you could get a restricted firearms license which allows you to have handguns but still, in canada the only people with guns are, the government, and the criminals so all the innocent residents are at risk when someone breaks in with a gun
i know a few conservatives who are in favour of stricter gun laws. i am a moderate (a mostly liberal moderate), and i am almost constantly packing a .380, 9mm, or .45acp. you cant judge people.
@vffjeff1983 Sure there's not argument that a knife CAN kill someone very easily in the right hands. However I think that most people will agree that almost any firearm will have the advantage. If I had to choose between a large fixed blade knife or a 5 shot .38 special snub nosed in a close combat situation my choice is the revolver.
@tubevideoguy762 If you ever take a defense class, you might get a first hand look at how easy it is for a man with a knife to kill a man with a gun. A person can cover 10 ft of distance in under 1/2 a second in some cases. Even with weapon drawn and pointed at target best case scenario is a tie. Thats why police are trained to draw while retreating on a suspect with a knife. And/or to short draw and fire from hip if up close.
@vffjeff1983 Okay honestly I have never taken a self defense class but I do own several handguns and loaded with good quality hollow points any one of them will kill a human in one shot anywhere in the torso. Cover 10 feet in .5 seconds? That does sound believable but my guess is that anyone who shoots firearms regularly can pull a trigger in under .5 seconds. So yes if the knife person surprised the gun person I could easily see a tie.
This video is ridiculous. The people in this video must want to die. It breaks all the rules of concealed carry. One should only draw their weapon if there is an intent to use it to protect their own life. Come on Smith and Wesson you know this!!!!
So when your walking alone at night and you hear a noise, you should draw your weapon and start pointing around the area? I think this video is a little extreme.
@TFMTraining Yes, that is known as "brandishing" and will buy the gun owner a trip to jail. It's legal to shout, "I'm armed, stay back." It is not a bad idea to draw the gun, but it should remain at your side until you decide to use it.
i need to leave my draconian police state of a country otherwise known as the uk and move somewhere which allows freedom to defend oneself god i miss guns *cries*
She's not much of a Democrat if she won't help with redistributing her wealth to the less fortunate. Or does she only like redistribution of wealth when its someone else's and not hers? I was just wondering. Those kind never donate money to government to help speed up the process and then they call others greedy.
Now available in the Windy City! Thanks Supreme Court. At least five of you can read and understand the law. But I guess Wise Latinas can disregard simple and easy concepts as they wish...being so wise and all.
@jusk2ru That’s the point. If someone attacks me with a knife or gun I am using deadly force. No questions asked. And pepper spray is not to be used on someone with a gun or knife. Don’t bring a knife to a gun fight! Don’t bring Pepper Spray to a gun fight. Its common sense. Our DA recommends concealed carry and I know a lot of police officers who encourage me to carry and their wives and family carry a gun. Never leave home without my Smith J Frame.
@Brent376 Do you carry a deadly weapon depends on how you treasure a life. I rather get injured or roped then take away someones life. Eventually you will get what you expect, the problem is that lot of people are just waiting to shoot some body. Only the law is stopping those people.
You may not agree with me, but I don't treasure my life higher then others. I really do think that everyone is equal.
@jusk2ru I completely understand that a firearm is not for everyone. We have students who would never ever use a gun in self defense because of personal reasons and I 100% respect that. I however have a huge problem with people who try to infringe upon my right to carry a handgun for self defense . BTW. I am not just waiting to shoot someone and most law abiding citizens would agree. I hope I never have to but I value my life and I am prepared to use deadly force to protect it.
@Brent376 I understand, but still I believe that people can use less lethal weapons like gas pistols, electroshock or pepper spray. It Will reduce death count. Using a gun is an unnecessary precaution that can lead only to One thing! And I understand that you don't want to use it on someone, but some people do. Many crimes happen with weapons registered for self defense.
@jusk2ru I also own a Taser C2 and Spitfire Pepper Spray and I never leave home with out the Spitfire Pepper Spray and I carry the Taser C2 for times when I cant carry a firearm. I carry less lethal tools because they compliment a complete personal defense plan. If spraying someone with OC Pepper Gas or using my Taser keeps me from having to use my J Frame I am all for it.
@jusk2ru Re: "I rather get injured or roped then take away someones life." Your willingness to put the life of a social predator before your own is impressive in its own way but do not expect or demand that others feel as you do.
Re: "In most cases people buy this just to feel safer and never use it." Yes that is true. Self defense firearms are the insurance policy one takes out on social violence. I dont check my fire alarm batteries regularly b/c I EXPECT my house to burn down, but bc it CAN.
@johnpatrick818 I understand that the man who put the gun to my head won't appreciate me not buying a firearm. I just know how selfish it is to think that you're life is more important then others. If that man don't understand it that doesn't mean I should be like him. People should learn to feel safe not by buying a potential reason for somebody's death, but by finding peace in them self. Weapons are for intimidating and killing, there is just no way that it can lead to something good.
@jusk2ru Your naivete is staggering. The regrettable truth of living in an imperfect world is that violence is a FACT OF LIFE. Choosing to bury your head in the sand does not make it otherwise. Your pacifist higher road is a load of hogwash. If a man breaks down your door, assaults you, or attempts to rape your wife, your choices are fairly clear. You can do nothing, or you can protect yourself and/or your loved ones. ANYONE who insists it is MORALLY OBLIGATORY to sit back and do nothing is SICK
@johnpatrick818 Well said! I agree with everything you said and I have came face to face with a violent felon and know that without a doubt guns save lives.
@jusk2ru Because I can thats why! I can and it my right! Proud to be an American! Subscribe to the Armed Citizen report and you will see that your comment about people buying these tools to make us "Feel Safer" is bull shit. People defend themselves every day with firearms and being a personal defense instructor and working with Law Enforcement I can confirm you have no possible clue about violent crime rates and firearms.
@jusk2ru If you ever want to hear my testimony about what happend to me and if you really want to know what its like to have a violent goal oriented attacker come up to you and in the blink of an eye he determines if you live or not email me. Because I obeyed a bad so called Gun Control law (at the time my gun was in my apt 20 miles across town because I was not old enough to get a CCW permit) I was robbed and humiliated. Never again! Besides, its our constitutional right
@jusk2ru Re: "Many crimes happen with weapons registered for self defense." Thats a preposterous claim to make. Can you substantiate this with any evidence? Do you honestly believe that criminals bother with going through legal channels to purchase firearms? I have news for you, 2 time violent felon Tyrone does not go to the gunshop in compton to fill out his 4473s and go through the basic fbi background check, much less whatever ridiculous song and dance CA puts legal ccw holders through.
@johnpatrick818 Actually people with unregistered mental problems and people that make some spontaneous moves caused by something that they believe in or they're feelings do.
When people are desperate they don't think about consequences. Those people don't buy new weapons they use the ones that they have already bought for self defense.
@jusk2ru Utter Horsepoo. The Seung-Hui Chos of the world are few and far between and are hardly representative of the larger body of violent crimes in this country. While no one is disputing the tragedy of the events at VTECH, or others like it, the fact is that there are THOUSANDS of murders committed every year, and tens of thousands of violent assaults, and very few of these resemble what happened there.
@johnpatrick818 There has been many discussions why the crime rate in America is so big and one of the considered reasons is that people are used to concentrate on all the negative that is happening. It is a chain reaction crimes happen>people buy weapons for self defense>more chance for crimes to happen>crimes happen. The crimes will stop when people will realize that guns are made for killing.
@jusk2ru You are one of the daftest neohippies I have ever run across. Newsflash: People ALREADY know guns can kill. Do you honestly believe the gangbanger DOESNT know this when he points his "strap" out the window of his car? Here are some FACTS for you. FACT: between 1986-the present, most states became SHALL ISSUE for licensed CCW. FACT: violent crime has FALLEN. FACT: Those states which are still NO-ISSUE/MAY-ISSUE have among the highest rates of violent crime in the Country. FAIL GC AD.
@johnpatrick818 ...Ok, lets make it simple. If the people wont have guns and the police will be cleaned from incompetent cops, first off all criminals won't feel a threat from people thus won't be forced to shoot because they feel endangered, secondly crime rate will reduce to normal (like in other country's). But only if police will work properly (like in other country's).
@jusk2ru You mean if we lived in a magical rainbow universe where everyone would just hold hands and sing songs together? Yeah, then you'd be right. Simple? Simple is right. Simple MINDED. Wishing it was so, and saying it SHOULD be so, does NOT MAKE IT SO.
@johnpatrick818 Then Why da fuck in other countries it is so? Lets take Latvia for instance(country that I live in). It is pretty dangerous to walk alone sometimes. People can beat the crap out of you just because how you look. I know that even some of my friends are involved in pretty bad stuff. But it is a really rear thing that people kill each other.
@jusk2ru Yes, and in Switzerland the majority of young adult males serve in the national militia and are required to store select fire assault rifles in their homes. Yet they have one of the lowest rates of violent crime ANYWHERE. There are socio-cultural factors at play here. Shouting from the rooftops that getting rid of the guns will make the world a happy place is naive. Esp. when there is no reason to believe the law will effectively impact the criminal's choice to acquire (and use) a gun.
@johnpatrick818 I understand that there are many factors on crime rates. One of them is the mentality, that unfortunately will never change. Taking guns away won't make the world batter, it will reduce body count in morgues. At least there should be more limitations on buying lethal weapons.
@jusk2ru The only body count it will reduce will be the number of dead violent criminals. One of the greatest misapprehensions of gun control advocates is that gun control will somehow take guns out of criminals hands, or make it harder for them to acquire. The truth is, most criminals (ESP REPEAT FELONS) are ALREADY getting their guns illegaly. 3 time rapist tyrone doesnt GO to the gunshops to fill out 4473s. The only people kept from acquiring guns under GC are law abiding citizens.
@johnpatrick818 I agree that many crimes happen with legal weapon however what should be happening is taking away as many weapons from criminals as possible and letting any law abiding citizen purchase any weapon they'd like to defend themselves from scum.
@tubevideoguy762 I never asserted that most (or many) crimes are committed by legally purchased and possessed firearms. That said, I agree that criminals SHOULD NOT be able to acquire/possess firearms, and that law abiding citizens SHOULD. Seems common nuff sense to me.
@johnpatrick818 Yeah what you said is how it needs to be but instead in america it is almost the opposite where the law abiding person goes through a lot of government red tape to have the right to keep their weapons and the criminals just ignore the laws entirely. Thats why there needs to be more nra members.
@jusk2ru Lol are you in la la land or something???? If someone is robbing you at gun point they could care less about you or your life. Do you know how many robberies end in the victims death simply because the robber gets scared or "ancy" and pulls the trigger. Sorry but I value my life more than some POS criminal who's only purpose in life to to harm other people.
SO disappointed with S&W. A 380 with an external safety...horrible idea, and the laser has to be consciously activated by your trigger finger first if you want to use it in defense....worthless idea. It looks like the 38 has the same issue, using the laserlyte means you have to push a button to activate the trigger. 2 fails by S&W this go round....
@PizzlePeezy But the laser button is where your finger is when you take out the gun. I really don't see the big deal. Also, you don't have to use it if you don't want to.
Forgive me for asking, but why is it bad for a 380 to have an external safety? Just wondering is all.
Finch, some goes just dislike the safety because it complicates things. For a duty gun like a SAO 1911, I think it makes more sense. But for a self-defense gun with a long trigger pull, I'd prefer no external safety. But ultimately, it's an issue of training.
But I am concerned that the placement of the buttons for the laser will offset the aim. I suppose you would immediately compensate since it is a laser sight.
Its a fuckin nice concealed piece. No matter what you think. Get shot by the 380 in your abdula oblongata... Sweet dreams.. Ijs

Ekserchina is a retard. You don't need a CPL to open carry. Conclusion: you know shit about your gun laws!
adhab 11 months ago
@ekserchina. It is legal to open carry in Michigan. Some cities have ordinances which do not allow it. Concealed carry is where you need the license. You need to brush up on your Michigan gun laws.

that robber probably wants to fuck the gun, not the chick
Idioluck 1 year ago
Yeah like the chick would have time to get the gun out of her purse and get a shot off before being attacked buy a dude sneaking up from behind her with a knife. And it's not called a CCW, its actually called a CPL or Concealed Pistol License, at least that's what the proper name of it is called here in Washington.
65FASTBACKMAN 1 year ago
@65FASTBACKMAN The title for the license varies by state. CCW in some, CHL/CPL in others. CCW is a general catch-all term for carry and it's use is ubiquitous and universally understood. I agree that a purse is probably not the best carry option for reasons above & beyond it being a slow draw (risk of theft, etc), but sometimes it's the only option available. When it is, situational awareness can often take up the slack. Noticing the guy shadowing you (parking garages are echo-y as hell) helps.
johnpatrick818 1 year ago
@johnpatrick818 Dude you are ridiculous and obviously you think you know everything... if the guy is less than 20 feet away, which is about how far he appears to be, as soon as she reaches in her bag all he would have to do is run toward her. There is no way she can draw, aim and shoot before he is on her, even if her purse was empty. And as I mentioned in my first post "at least that's what the proper name of it is called here in Washington." Maybe you should read the post before you post?
65FASTBACKMAN 1 year ago
@65FASTBACKMAN So glad you recognize my omniscience.
Within 21 feet, almost any draw will be slower than an assailant already in motion, rendering your principle criticism? (method of carry) moot. The point I was making was that SA comes into play in avoiding such situations in the first place, or in already being prepared to act when they manifest. A woman reaching into a purse is analogous to a man reaching into a pocket...its not something which necessarily telegraphs "GUN!"
johnpatrick818 1 year ago
@65FASTBACKMAN cont: The woman in the video, having realized she was being shadowed, is perfectly capable of reaching for her "keys" and coming out with her firearm. Nor would changing her moc substantially affect her ability to react. Re CHL, you seemed to have taken issue with my comment. Which part and why? Your remark essentially reduces to "it is X, at least in A." My response was not contra, but explicative. "Yes it is X, but it is also Y and Z depending on whether you are in B or C."
johnpatrick818 1 year ago
@johnpatrick818 You are over analyzing this way too much. I'm simply stating that even the best of marksman's wouldn't be able to draw a weapon out of their holster, or in this case a purse, aim and then shoot a target before the "assailant" was on to them. Here is a little bit of info for you, "Position yourself about 7-yards (the distance the FBI determined a man could move in a second and a half — about the time it takes to draw a pistol and fire) away from a large (10+ inch) target."

65FASTBACKMAN 1 year ago
@johnpatrick818 cont: The woman in the video, having realized she was being shadowed, is not perfectly capable of reaching for her "keys" and coming out with her firearm. Because, as stated above, she wouldn't have enough time or distance before the "assailant" ran to attack her. And no, just because she reaches in her purse doesn't mean she is reaching for a gun, but she could be getting pepper spray or some other weapon or phone to dial 911, why else would she reach in her purse? dumbass
65FASTBACKMAN 1 year ago
@65FASTBACKMAN Holy sh*t. Way to strawman. I already acknowledged the implications of the 21’/7yd "rule" in my 1st response (see "already in motion"). Charging assailant at < 21’ = bad juju is not something I contested at any point (nice try though). The point about SA being made (which you cont. to fail to grasp) was that, under anything other than an ACTIVE attack, you have options. Yes, even w/ purse carry. Now to address my specific example, a woman reaching into a purse for her “keys”:
johnpatrick818 1 year ago
@65FASTBACKMAN (pt 2) Youre assuming that the assailant will NECESSARILY perceive the victim’s actions as hostile, which is ridiculous. If I appear unaware of an impending attack and scratch my balls (bellyband holster), reach for my keys as I approach "my” (actually random) car (pocket-H-) or drop to tie my shoes (ankle-H-), a potential assailant is not going to immediately think, "OMG hes going for a weapon or a phone I better stab him now before he gets the chance!"
johnpatrick818 1 year ago
@65FASTBACKMAN (pt 3) Im sure you see women reach into their purses a million times a day and I DOUBT it EVER rings your alarm bells. It is an innocuous action that has countless possible implications. Combine that with the fact that most victims are chosen b/c they look like “soft” targets, and the odds of a mugger/rapists’ thoughts immediately going to “WEAPON!” as an apparently clueless/hapless victim reach into her purse as she approaches a parked vehicle is slim.
johnpatrick818 1 year ago
@65FASTBACKMAN (4) SA allows you to recognize a potential attack and act 1st, which is preferable b/c action (generally) trumps reaction. Maybe action = innocuously going for a ccw. Or putting a car between you and the threat. Maybe it means 100 other things. But whether it’s a guy hovering around the atm, or a group of punks shadowing you w/camera phones (watch?v=TBzCKGp3UNU), attacks generally have pre-cursors. Being tuned in helps you avoid trouble or be prepared when it comes anyway. Asshat.
johnpatrick818 1 year ago
@johnpatrick818 Damn dude you sure are gay. You must be since you know what the woman in the video with the purse is thinking while she is being followed by the "assailant." haha or maybe you just know what everyone is thinking? The bottom line is that you have absolutely no idea what an "assailant" is going to do. If they are pulling a knife on you, they obviously most likely aren't a rational person and obviously you have absolutely no fucking idea what they are going to do or if they....
65FASTBACKMAN 1 year ago
@johnpatrick818 (pt 2) ... have other weapons or are working with other people. Bottom line...if i were the "assailant" I would be thinking she was reaching for keys, a phone or something like a taser or pepper spray, I wouldn't expect a gun. You are a dumbass and that's why you would get shot by the chick. haha, your thinking would be "it's ok, she's probably just reaching for a condom because she think's I'm hot and she must be into kinky robber/suspect roleplay sex," haha you fucking dumbass
65FASTBACKMAN 1 year ago
@65FASTBACKMAN Keep shadow-boxing numnuts. Youre either being deliberately facetious or you have the mental capacity of a f*ng walnut. Probably the latter, so let me make this EASY for you by going point by point. Re Gay: Yes. Lulz. What a diss! Re “Mind reading”: sorry to shatter your illusions. No gay superpowers. Fortunately, NOTHING of what I ACTUALLY said requires or implies that telepathy is possible/feasible/necessary, your attempts to strawman my argument (again) notwithstanding.
johnpatrick818 1 year ago
@65FASTBACKMAN (2) EVERYONE can make reasonable (predictive) inferences to behavior based on context cues and past experiences. This is not rocket science. You do this every day. This is why you dont hit the deck every time someone picks their nose. THIS IS WHY “scratching balls”/”tying shoes”/or reaching into a pocket/purse for “keys” en route to parked car is LESS LIKELY to instigate attack than STARING at a guy with a knife and making a rapid deliberate move for your pocket/waist/purse.
johnpatrick818 1 year ago
@65FASTBACKMAN (3) NOR am I discussing the actions of this particular woman in any absolute sense, except as regards the advantages of SA and how it might apply to a similar RL situation. BASIC reading comprehension, combined w/the fact that I’ve reiterated this in every set of comments thus far, should have gotten you to at least this point (apparently not). SA implies options. The fact that you think this is even contestable is laughable. Youre a fucking dunce.
johnpatrick818 1 year ago
@johnpatrick818 are you a philosophy major or just well-spoken and up on basic logic?
noblesavage3187 1 year ago
@johnpatrick818 It's not contestable... you have absolutely no point and then you try to make my argument sound flawed even though it's much better than any argument that you have. In fact, what is your argument? Lol, you don't even really have one other than the fact that you think you know the mind of both a woman and a criminal haha dumbass
65FASTBACKMAN 1 year ago
@65FASTBACKMAN I have reiterated my point (SA implications) in every comment set, supported with Exs both gen and specific, including 1 RL ex via YT. Your "arguments" WERE flawed, and I pointed out the specifics in each reply INCLUDING mind reading which is (again) a strawman. If, by now, you have failed to grasp both my repeated point/illustrations of your failures, you have special needs. I can only hope those needs will be met and that you will (someday) lead some semblance of a normal life.
johnpatrick818 1 year ago
@johnpatrick818 You have absolutely no valid argument at all. You claim you know what an assailant or perpetrator is thinking and what they are going to do in a situation as shown, which clearly there is no telling what someone will do, especially if they are under the influence of drugs or alcohol. And using technical words like what you are doing doesn't make you sound any more intelligent, it actually makes you sound even more like a dumbass with no valid argument/point. Good day to you :)
65FASTBACKMAN 11 months ago
@65FASTBACKMAN Horseshit. I made no such claims, and I have addressed the mind reading strawman AT LEAST 3 times by now, IN FULL DETAIL. Youre either a complete fucking dunce or entirely duplicitous. Oh, and I apologize if a BASIC command of the English language sounds like Im being "technical" to you. For your benefit I restricted this comment to language you could understand. Short bus motherfucker.
johnpatrick818 11 months ago
@johnpatrick818 Dude, you think you sound smart because you use a word like duplicitous, but you sound like a dumbass. The fact is... you think you can determine what a perpetrator or assailant is going to do, which is completely and utterly ridiculous. You think that the woman in the video, while being followed, has enough time to grab her gun, aim and shoot, while it's been proven she wouldn't have enough time to do so before the perpetrator/assailant had reached her. What now Fucker?
65FASTBACKMAN 11 months ago
@65FASTBACKMAN (1/4) If duplicitous sounds "smart" to you, youre a fucking idiot. Moving on from an established point to beat the dead horse: Mind reading (again) is a strawman. Active attacker/the 21' rule was likewise addressed. But hey, since you apparently have the IQ of a fucking gnat, and the reading comprehension of a dyslexic 6 yr old, lets break it down (again) real simple like! My argument (quoting past comments): "under anything other than an ACTIVE* attack, you have options."
johnpatrick818 11 months ago
@65FASTBACKMAN (2/4) argument cont: “SA** comes into play in avoiding such situations in the first place, or in already being prepared to act when they manifest.” Exposition: Premises(P) drawn from above are as follows: (P1) the attack is not actively underway*; (P2) victim is situationally aware(SA)** and therefore cognizant of a possibly imminent attack. Claim(C1): given P1/P2, victim has a range of possible actions/reactions, some of which are better than others.
johnpatrick818 11 months ago
@65FASTBACKMAN (3/4) Application of C1 to Ex. at hand: Some actions (eg ball-scratching/shoe-tying) are LESS LIKELY (operative phrase) to instigate the BG to attack than are others (eg signaling alarm). Such determinations of probability ARE NOT MINDREADING. It is NOT MINDREADING to infer that puppies are LESS LIKELY to draw alarm than balaclava-clad men with Kalashnikovs. It is A common f’ing sense inference drawn on experience.
johnpatrick818 11 months ago
@65FASTBACKMAN (4/4) Some defensive actions WILL appear non-threatening and are LESS LIKELY to trigger the active stage of the assault. I don’t have to “know” what the assailant is thinking to take actions based on PROBABLE consequences, and make plans which therefore increase the likelihood of fending-off/surviving an attack. In summary: “SA implies options. The fact that you think this is even contestable is laughable.” Crawl back to your grotto and knap flint you shit-for-brains-fuckwit.
johnpatrick818 11 months ago

But by all means, score points however you can, since its become patently obvious you cannot do so through intelligible args. (3)I readily admit that my vocab fails to adequately describe the breadth/depth of your stupidity. In my defense, the requisite adj.s may not have been invented yet. Its been fun short-bus.
johnpatrick818 11 months ago
@johnpatrick818 Your quote, "Within 21 feet, almost any draw will be slower than an assailant...." No one could draw that fast dumbass. "...that SA comes into play in avoiding such situations in the first place." So she shouldn't have parked in that parking garage or what? I guess it's her fault the guy was following her? Or, you think she needs to watch for guys hiding/following in a parking garage and she should hear them because parking garages are loud? haha you are fucking retarded?
65FASTBACKMAN 11 months ago
@65FASTBACKMAN (1/2) (21ft rule): That there are vids on YT of people who have (under controlled circumstances) successfully done this (under1.5s or on a mover) belies the fact that this is categorically, as opposed to generally, true. It is a (very) difficult task to perform under rw conditions, but it is not necessarily IMPOSSIBLE. Hence: "almost any." (SA): You left out the second part of that quote, the (applicable) part that goes "or in already being prepared to act when they manifest."
johnpatrick818 11 months ago
@65FASTBACKMAN (2/2) Having a plan, surreptitiously getting a hand on your gun, etc. Specific Exs have already been given. Note: most of your comment attack new strawman: I never attributed fault, implicitly or otherwise. But re this: “she needs to watch for guys hiding/following.”? Define “need?” Like having a gun, SA inc. your chances of avoiding/surviving social violence (claim). Requote: “(That) you think this is even contestable is laughable.” (Rhetorical return serve): Haha, r u retarded?

Moron.

Or, you think she needs to watch for guys hiding/following in a parking garage and she should hear them because parking garages are loud? haha you are fucking retarded?

boblikescars 1 year ago
Just got the 380. went to the range and put 125 rounds through it without a problem. the laser from the factory was a little off but a quick adjustment put it straight. the options you get on it are excellent for the money (around $350). Slide stops back on the last round unlike its competition (P3AT, LCP). Really surprised that Smith has made a well optioned gun that works out of the box and doesn't cost an arm and a leg. Blows LCP and Kel Tec out of the water! Way to go S&W!

Sry im canadian but isnt it illigal to carry guns outside ur house?
zezisgay 1 year ago
@zezisgay nope it's legal in america. all states except for 2 issue concealed weapons permits. in some states they are very difficult to receive but in most, they are relatively easy. where i live (Michigan) any non-criminal who takes a class and pays for the license can carry a gun concealed. anyone who legally owns a pistol can openly carry a gun with or without a concealed weapons permit. america is just cool that way
thlman 1 year ago 24
@thlman Lol thats sick, i wish in canada you could atleast have guns in your house. I like canada but everyone is such a peacekeeper it annoys me sometimes :P
zezisgay 1 year ago
@thlman The problem with what you're saying is your second to last sentence which is a load of crap (no offense). You have to pass the CPL course which takes about 8 hours or so. NO one can OPENLY carry a gun WITHOUT a CPL. That my friend is automatically a felony. Some counties have hearings for civilians after the course and some such as Oakland county do not. Take it from me, I live in Michigan and I know my gun laws.
ekserchina 1 year ago
@ekserchina You are absolutely wrong. Carrying CONCEALED w/o a license is a felony, but carrying openly is legal. In Michigan, anyone who has a pistol registered to them can carry openly with or without a CPL as long as they don't carry in areas where open carry is banned by law. I'm a Wayne Co Sheriffs Deputy and I was educated on the gun laws by the Michigan State Police so I do know my gun laws. Please read Michigan State Police Legal Update No. 86. It's online. It should clear things up.
thlman 11 months ago
@thlman You're right. I do agree after reading up on that exact update you mentioned. As a deputy wouldn't you say that no one in the right mind would do such thing although it's legal. I've spent 15 years in Detroit and I haven't once come across a person that openly carried until about two weeks ago at Target gun shop (OC). I thought he was a cop but no he taught CPL classes. Although it's legal I believe it's a gun pointed at you waiting to happen. In my opinion no cop would just let that fly
ekserchina 11 months ago
@ekserchina I've seen very few open carriers in Detroit but I do know that in other parts of Michigan, many do open carry. Some fellow cops might not like it but there really is nothing they can do about it. We can't harass or arrest or point our guns at people for doing something lawful otherwise we could get sued. That would be like a cop who doesn't like red shirts pointing his gun at someone for wearing a red shirt. Personal opinions don't matter, only the law does.
thlman 11 months ago
@thlman Umm.. Im not sure what your talking about.. I live in MA and If I open carry a firearm Ill have the cops swarming me in a matter of minutes. And thats with a class A, non restricted large capacity license
TheXxxRIPPERxxx 8 months ago
@TheXxxRIPPERxxx I'm sure Massachusetts has stricter gun laws than Michigan. If you read my posts, you would know that I was talking about Michigan's laws, not Massachusetts. Each state enacts their own gun laws.

JCTheMexican 1 year ago
@JCTheMexican Hey man, I'm Canadian and ur right, Canada's gun laws suck. It takes forever just to get ANY gun registrated, and u have to have a license for EVERYTHING which takes a lot of time and a shitload of courses. And handguns can only be fired at a range. The laws may differ in different parts of Canada though. Where in the US do you live? And with Open Carrying, are u allowed to take a handgun ANYWHERE as long as it isn't concealed?
R3DDY2GOE 1 year ago
@R3DDY2GOE I'm not sure on all the specifics, but you can take it almost everywhere with conceal and carry. The weapon has to be concealed, and obviously you can't take it to school, or a police station etc. and I live in Kansas City. Crime here is pretty bad, actually in the top three in the U.S. per capita, but the laws are much stricter in some major cities like LA and NY where gangs are more prevalent. But in good ol' Kansas Automatic weapons are even legal... gotta love America!
JCTheMexican 1 year ago
@JCTheMexican Thanks. I didn't know Kansas allowed full-autos. I heard in LA open carry is legal but the gun can't be loaded, I haven't been able to find anything about concealed though. And yeah haha, good ol' America!
R3DDY2GOE 1 year ago
@JCTheMexican lol dont worry its not being a dick, in canada your not even allowed to have guns period, unless you have a cfsc firearms license, and even so that only allowed you to have long rifles and shotguns, no handguns. you could get a restricted firearms license which allows you to have handguns but still, in canada the only people with guns are, the government, and the criminals so all the innocent residents are at risk when someone breaks in with a gun

YOU could take out someone with a gun only having a knife? That's difficult to do even for an expert killer.
tubevideoguy762 1 year ago
@tubevideoguy762 Why? A knife will kill you just as dead as a bullet.
vffjeff1983 1 year ago
@vffjeff1983 Sure there's not argument that a knife CAN kill someone very easily in the right hands. However I think that most people will agree that almost any firearm will have the advantage. If I had to choose between a large fixed blade knife or a 5 shot .38 special snub nosed in a close combat situation my choice is the revolver.
tubevideoguy762 1 year ago
@tubevideoguy762 If you ever take a defense class, you might get a first hand look at how easy it is for a man with a knife to kill a man with a gun. A person can cover 10 ft of distance in under 1/2 a second in some cases. Even with weapon drawn and pointed at target best case scenario is a tie. Thats why police are trained to draw while retreating on a suspect with a knife. And/or to short draw and fire from hip if up close.
vffjeff1983 1 year ago
@vffjeff1983 Okay honestly I have never taken a self defense class but I do own several handguns and loaded with good quality hollow points any one of them will kill a human in one shot anywhere in the torso. Cover 10 feet in .5 seconds? That does sound believable but my guess is that anyone who shoots firearms regularly can pull a trigger in under .5 seconds. So yes if the knife person surprised the gun person I could easily see a tie.
tubevideoguy762 1 year ago
F*ck'em up with that .38, baby.

@TFMTraining Yes, that is known as "brandishing" and will buy the gun owner a trip to jail. It's legal to shout, "I'm armed, stay back." It is not a bad idea to draw the gun, but it should remain at your side until you decide to use it.

jusk2ru 1 year ago
@jusk2ru That’s the point. If someone attacks me with a knife or gun I am using deadly force. No questions asked. And pepper spray is not to be used on someone with a gun or knife. Don’t bring a knife to a gun fight! Don’t bring Pepper Spray to a gun fight. Its common sense. Our DA recommends concealed carry and I know a lot of police officers who encourage me to carry and their wives and family carry a gun. Never leave home without my Smith J Frame.
Brent376 1 year ago
@Brent376 AMEN!
dsportnissan 1 year ago
@Brent376 Do you carry a deadly weapon depends on how you treasure a life. I rather get injured or roped then take away someones life. Eventually you will get what you expect, the problem is that lot of people are just waiting to shoot some body. Only the law is stopping those people.
You may not agree with me, but I don't treasure my life higher then others. I really do think that everyone is equal.
jusk2ru 1 year ago
@jusk2ru I completely understand that a firearm is not for everyone. We have students who would never ever use a gun in self defense because of personal reasons and I 100% respect that. I however have a huge problem with people who try to infringe upon my right to carry a handgun for self defense . BTW. I am not just waiting to shoot someone and most law abiding citizens would agree. I hope I never have to but I value my life and I am prepared to use deadly force to protect it.
Brent376 1 year ago
@Brent376 I understand, but still I believe that people can use less lethal weapons like gas pistols, electroshock or pepper spray. It Will reduce death count. Using a gun is an unnecessary precaution that can lead only to One thing! And I understand that you don't want to use it on someone, but some people do. Many crimes happen with weapons registered for self defense.
jusk2ru 1 year ago
@jusk2ru I also own a Taser C2 and Spitfire Pepper Spray and I never leave home with out the Spitfire Pepper Spray and I carry the Taser C2 for times when I cant carry a firearm. I carry less lethal tools because they compliment a complete personal defense plan. If spraying someone with OC Pepper Gas or using my Taser keeps me from having to use my J Frame I am all for it.
Brent376 1 year ago
@Brent376 I'm really glad that you think so. But I still don't understand why to have so may tools for self defense?
In most cases people buy this just to feel safer and never use it.
jusk2ru 1 year ago
@jusk2ru Re: "I rather get injured or roped then take away someones life." Your willingness to put the life of a social predator before your own is impressive in its own way but do not expect or demand that others feel as you do.
Re: "In most cases people buy this just to feel safer and never use it." Yes that is true. Self defense firearms are the insurance policy one takes out on social violence. I dont check my fire alarm batteries regularly b/c I EXPECT my house to burn down, but bc it CAN.
johnpatrick818 1 year ago
@johnpatrick818 I understand that the man who put the gun to my head won't appreciate me not buying a firearm. I just know how selfish it is to think that you're life is more important then others. If that man don't understand it that doesn't mean I should be like him. People should learn to feel safe not by buying a potential reason for somebody's death, but by finding peace in them self. Weapons are for intimidating and killing, there is just no way that it can lead to something good.
jusk2ru 1 year ago
@jusk2ru Your naivete is staggering. The regrettable truth of living in an imperfect world is that violence is a FACT OF LIFE. Choosing to bury your head in the sand does not make it otherwise. Your pacifist higher road is a load of hogwash. If a man breaks down your door, assaults you, or attempts to rape your wife, your choices are fairly clear. You can do nothing, or you can protect yourself and/or your loved ones. ANYONE who insists it is MORALLY OBLIGATORY to sit back and do nothing is SICK
johnpatrick818 1 year ago
@johnpatrick818 Well said! I agree with everything you said and I have came face to face with a violent felon and know that without a doubt guns save lives.

@jusk2ru Because I can thats why! I can and it my right! Proud to be an American! Subscribe to the Armed Citizen report and you will see that your comment about people buying these tools to make us "Feel Safer" is bull shit. Brent376 1 year ago
Besides, its our constitutional right
Brent376 1 year ago
@jusk2ru Re: "Many crimes happen with weapons registered for self defense." Thats a preposterous claim to make. Can you substantiate this with any evidence? Do you honestly believe that criminals bother with going through legal channels to purchase firearms? I have news for you, 2 time violent felon Tyrone does not go to the gunshop in compton to fill out his 4473s and go through the basic fbi background check, much less whatever ridiculous song and dance CA puts legal ccw holders through.
johnpatrick818 1 year ago
@johnpatrick818 Actually people with unregistered mental problems and people that make some spontaneous moves caused by something that they believe in or they're feelings do.
When people are desperate they don't think about consequences. Those people don't buy new weapons they use the ones that they have already bought for self defense.
jusk2ru 1 year ago
@jusk2ru Utter Horsepoo. The Seung-Hui Chos of the world are few and far between and are hardly representative of the larger body of violent crimes in this country. While no one is disputing the tragedy of the events at VTECH, or others like it, the fact is that there are THOUSANDS of murders committed every year, and tens of thousands of violent assaults, and very few of these resemble what happened there.
johnpatrick818 1 year ago
@johnpatrick818 There has been many discussions why the crime rate in America is so big and one of the considered reasons is that people are used to concentrate on all the negative that is happening. It is a chain reaction crimes happen>people buy weapons for self defense>more chance for crimes to happen>crimes happen. The crimes will stop when people will realize that guns are made for killing.
jusk2ru 1 year ago
@jusk2ru You are one of the daftest neohippies I have ever run across. Newsflash: People ALREADY know guns can kill. Do you honestly believe the gangbanger DOESNT know this when he points his "strap" out the window of his car? Here are some FACTS for you. FACT: between 1986-the present, most states became SHALL ISSUE for licensed CCW. FACT: violent crime has FALLEN. FACT: Those states which are still NO-ISSUE/MAY-ISSUE have among the highest rates of violent crime in the Country. FAIL GC AD.
johnpatrick818 1 year ago
@johnpatrick818 ...Ok, lets make it simple. If the people wont have guns and the police will be cleaned from incompetent cops, first off all criminals won't feel a threat from people thus won't be forced to shoot because they feel endangered, secondly crime rate will reduce to normal (like in other country's). But only if police will work properly (like in other country's).
jusk2ru 1 year ago
@jusk2ru You mean if we lived in a magical rainbow universe where everyone would just hold hands and sing songs together? Yeah, then you'd be right. Simple? Simple is right. Simple MINDED. Wishing it was so, and saying it SHOULD be so, does NOT MAKE IT SO.
johnpatrick818 1 year ago
@johnpatrick818 Then Why da fuck in other countries it is so? Lets take Latvia for instance(country that I live in). It is pretty dangerous to walk alone sometimes. People can beat the crap out of you just because how you look. I know that even some of my friends are involved in pretty bad stuff. But it is a really rear thing that people kill each other.
jusk2ru 1 year ago
@jusk2ru Yes, and in Switzerland the majority of young adult males serve in the national militia and are required to store select fire assault rifles in their homes. Yet they have one of the lowest rates of violent crime ANYWHERE. There are socio-cultural factors at play here. Shouting from the rooftops that getting rid of the guns will make the world a happy place is naive. Esp. when there is no reason to believe the law will effectively impact the criminal's choice to acquire (and use) a gun.
johnpatrick818 1 year ago
@johnpatrick818 I understand that there are many factors on crime rates. One of them is the mentality, that unfortunately will never change. Taking guns away won't make the world batter, it will reduce body count in morgues. At least there should be more limitations on buying lethal weapons.
jusk2ru 1 year ago
@jusk2ru The only body count it will reduce will be the number of dead violent criminals. One of the greatest misapprehensions of gun control advocates is that gun control will somehow take guns out of criminals hands, or make it harder for them to acquire. The truth is, most criminals (ESP REPEAT FELONS) are ALREADY getting their guns illegaly. 3 time rapist tyrone doesnt GO to the gunshops to fill out 4473s. The only people kept from acquiring guns under GC are law abiding citizens.
johnpatrick818 1 year ago
@jusk2ru Also, please check your inbox. Message reply sent.
johnpatrick818 1 year ago
@johnpatrick818 I agree that many crimes happen with legal weapon however what should be happening is taking away as many weapons from criminals as possible and letting any law abiding citizen purchase any weapon they'd like to defend themselves from scum.
tubevideoguy762 1 year ago
@tubevideoguy762 I never asserted that most (or many) crimes are committed by legally purchased and possessed firearms. That said, I agree that criminals SHOULD NOT be able to acquire/possess firearms, and that law abiding citizens SHOULD. Seems common nuff sense to me.
johnpatrick818 1 year ago
@johnpatrick818 Yeah what you said is how it needs to be but instead in america it is almost the opposite where the law abiding person goes through a lot of government red tape to have the right to keep their weapons and the criminals just ignore the laws entirely. Thats why there needs to be more nra members.
tubevideoguy762 1 year ago
@jusk2ru Lol are you in la la land or something???? If someone is robbing you at gun point they could care less about you or your life.
PizzlePeezy 2 years ago
@PizzlePeezy But the laser button is where your finger is when you take out the gun. I really don't see the big deal. Also, you don't have to use it if you don't want to.
Forgive me for asking, but why is it bad for a 380 to have an external safety? Just wondering is all.
fidgetingfinch 2 years ago 5
Finch, some goes just dislike the safety because it complicates things. For a duty gun like a SAO 1911, I think it makes more sense. But for a self-defense gun with a long trigger pull, I'd prefer no external safety. But ultimately, it's an issue of training.
But I am concerned that the placement of the buttons for the laser will offset the aim. I suppose you would immediately compensate since it is a laser sight.
