Who are you people that think this his position is "anti-gun" in California? From what he said, that's the most pro gun I've heard by anyone trying to be a sheriff in this state. California is a nightmare for gun owners. I would be lucky to have a sheriff that at least set STANDARDS for getting a CCW. What Californians get instead is "NO." Hunt seems the better candidate, but I'd gladly vote for a sheriff in my county (not Orange) if he'd say something half as sane as what Hunter just said here.
@promontorium Hunt says it much better, and he's for a Shall Issue state, not a May Issue state. Hunter is ok with the government restricting your rights. You still think restrictions of rights is pro anything?

Listen to him again....he is mixing rights and authority. there are restriction to authority.... there at responsibility with rights. again, RIGHTS ARE FOR PEOPLE. authority is for the government. He clearly does not trust the people he want to elect him. WTF

In his world bearing a firearm is a priviledge, not a right. And he's comfortable with that.
He must think the 37 states with Shall-Issue CCW laws are crazy letting people have all that freedom.

Wow this is a great clip. He has been saying that he is in favor of granting CCW permits. Doesn't sound like his campaign speeches.
