  • great playing, what are the timbers used on your uke?

  • I am impressed! I wish I could find a chord chart that would take me up the neck?

  • Hey! I jumped up and was doing the Charleston! That was pretty hot picking buddy! Great job!

  • Awesome

  • The opening finger picked part is the best; you should have stayed with it, altho you strum very well too. All in all, first rate playing. How did you develop your finger style?

  • Best "Five Foot Two" on youtube...Well done

  • What song is this? Anyone?

  • @foarks The tune you asked about on thetownsquares channel is "Five Foot Two,Eyes of Blue" or sometimes called "Has Anybody Seen My Gal" look the latter up on wikipedia. You have probably had three hundred answers to your question by now but I thought I would answer anyways

  • @scx493x Sorry, total obliviousness on my part. I like the arrangement of this one. Anyone got chords/tab/lesson?

  • Man, that is the best version of 5 foot 2 I have seen yet. If you could please share it in tab form to me, I will be very grateful. Your video is exemplary! Thanks for sharing. Happy New Year!

  • is that a pickup i see on the side?

  • Do you have geared tuners??

  • I wish this was good

  • Ok that was just too COOL.

  • great performance*****

  • The best thing about this video is how much you genuinely love playing. It's written all over your face

  • Nice one!

  • Loved the tune!! Thanks for the review, I have ordered one!

  • wow im thinking of getting one of these. I really loved the song at the end to. Whats it called?

  • @plaidpancake : five foot two

  • Wow, Great playing, very inspiring, Thank you so much for sharing your playing ability with everyone.

My New Fluke is in the Mail, should have it this week. Can hardly wait. !!

  • Thanks, and congrats on the new uke! I bet you will be very happy with it. I'm thinking about a new one myself....

  • @thetownsquares

    Wow, thanks for the reply.

Well. Ive had my new Fluke ukulele for about 24 hours now, I am pretty happy with it overall. How my interest in purchasing a ukulele came to be is a long story, but I will say that after 10 years of studying guitar, my skills are not what Id like them to be, So maybe the ukulele will re inspire me a bit, Thanks again.

  • u rule

  • thank you.

  • awesome as usual. I sent you a reply a year ago when I started playing the uke. I bought the flea due to your video. I love it. I just bought a fluke tenor and love it also. I would force myself to learn tabs if you put them up on this board for that version, it's great. Thanks...Brock

  • Watching/hearing you play jusy had me smiling! You're wonderful- thanks! :)

  • Delightful playing! It encapsulates everything the uke is about (hope that doesn't sounf too pompous?). Tell me, is the fingerboard on your Fluke polycarbonate?

    Regards

    Philip

  • Wow.. great playing!

  • If I buy a Fluke, will I play that well?

  • even better. you will also be able to see in the dark, read minds and hold you breath for unlimited amounts of time...yes, a Fluke Flea will change your life! (tell them I said that, maybe they'll send me a free one, lol)

  • Can I just say that because of this video I bought a Flea and love it and it especially fits very well to the things I play.

    Great stuff.

  • Excellent, a wise purchase. I change guitars like socks, but I'm never tempted to get rid of my Fluke. They are so cheap (relatively speaking) and work so well, what's not to like?

  • Brilliant! Great playing!

  • Thanks, Matt! I dig your Sweet Child O' Mine...and nice hat as well.

  • do u have tabs this is the best version i have ever heard

  • Sorry, I don't. I'm flattered that you asked, and I really appreciate it. If I ever get around to it I'll shoot them your way. Maybe I can do a "how to" youtube vid, that would be faster (this version actually sounds harder than it is, by the way) Thanks!

  • Please!!! Do the tutorial!!!!

I'd love to learn that version. I upgraded my Tiki Flea with the rosewood fretboard. it's nice.

  • Pop Quiz:

Anyone know the actor this guy looks like?

  • this song is one of the most common played on uke, this is a really great version.... well done!! Did you get this version from somewhere or is it your own arrangement?

  • I think that is the soprano model - have you measured the scale? If the scale is 14", you have a soprano. Great stuff!

  • Its the concert. When they first did the flea, they were all soprano and they offered the "Fluke" body style in concert. As soon as they came out with the concert flea, I got one- I like the longer scale most of the time. Best Regards and keep on strumming!

  • i love how it looks like a frying pan from the side. how wonderfully you play!

  • excellent!

  • wow.. that was sweet!!

can you post some tabs for that?

  • I can't stop listening to this version! Very nicely done! Do you find that a concert size is easier to play than a soprano?

  • Thanks! In general, yes- I find the concert easier. However, some voicings that require big stretches are easier for me on the soprano. I like them both.

  • Dude, this is the best version of 5'2" I've ever heard. You need to make more videos. Please, please more videos.

  • looks so easy when you play it! :D

  • which color flea is that? is that the red?

  • They call it "Hibiscus" in the catalog, but yes- its red.

  • where can I find tabs for that, ive been looking around but cant find anything instrumental

  • Show off!!!!

    More vids please.

  • This was fantastic!

  • Thank you very much. I just checked out your version. Very nice! What kind of uke is that?

  • Wow. Many thanks for your comment on my version :-) I played it on my Ko'olau Pono PCE (unplugged). This one is kind of gentle and you have to place your fingers very precise on the fretboard, but once you know how to handle the stregth of pulling down the strings it gives a very neat sound - that's why I love it :-)

  • Great review and that was the best 5'2" I have ever heard. You were having a blast playing that and it showed. Keep it coming!

    Nice sound from the flea

  • Got most of this tabbed out just by listening - but, hey, c'mon please tab it out for us - this is the neatest version I've heard for FFT by a long way. Thanks.

  • any suggestions on books for a beginner to learn how to pick? Thanks..........

  • How about posting the tabs for that version, that was awesome.............. How about some more? Thanks

p.s. I have the same uke, bought it due to your review and I love it.

  • Glad you got a Fluke, they're great. Sorry, I don't have tabs, but if you are just getting started here is what I would suggest-first make sure you can get your uke in tune (G,C,E,A is most common-and the G is higher than the C)Find a chord chart online and learn F,A7,D7,G,and C(if you feel ambitious learn C augmented(+)as well, that one will really make you sound like your in an old movie). Those are the main chords for 5 foot 2.There's more to it- but that's a good place to start.Have fun!

  • Yes, lets see some more Ukulele playing!!!! That was great!!!!!!!!!!

  • Hey. That was great. You really should post some more tunes. Its impossible to feel miserable to the sound of a ukelele being played. Think I'm going to get a Flea and learn to play....

  • whoa, terrific! You obviously know your way around a fretboard. Thanks for posting that. I got the link at UkeleleUnderground.

  • You've got my favourite! Did you just work out the tune for that or do you have the tab or music to it? :-)

  • Now you just made that too much fun! Thanks for the lift..
