The opening finger picked part is the best; you should have stayed with it, altho you strum very well too. All in all, first rate playing. How did you develop your finger style?
@foarks The tune you asked about on thetownsquares channel is "Five Foot Two,Eyes of Blue" or sometimes called "Has Anybody Seen My Gal" look the latter up on wikipedia. You have probably had three hundred answers to your question by now but I thought I would answer anyways
Man, that is the best version of 5 foot 2 I have seen yet. If you could please share it in tab form to me, I will be very grateful. Your video is exemplary! Thanks for sharing. Happy New Year!
Well. Ive had my new Fluke ukulele for about 24 hours now, I am pretty happy with it overall. How my interest in purchasing a ukulele came to be is a long story, but I will say that after 10 years of studying guitar, my skills are not what Id like them to be, So maybe the ukulele will re inspire me a bit, Thanks again.
awesome as usual. I sent you a reply a year ago when I started playing the uke. I bought the flea due to your video. I love it. I just bought a fluke tenor and love it also. I would force myself to learn tabs if you put them up on this board for that version, it's great. Thanks...Brock
Delightful playing! It encapsulates everything the uke is about (hope that doesn't sounf too pompous?). Tell me, is the fingerboard on your Fluke polycarbonate?
even better. you will also be able to see in the dark, read minds and hold you breath for unlimited amounts of time...yes, a Fluke Flea will change your life! (tell them I said that, maybe they'll send me a free one, lol)
Excellent, a wise purchase. I change guitars like socks, but I'm never tempted to get rid of my Fluke. They are so cheap (relatively speaking) and work so well, what's not to like?
Sorry, I don't. I'm flattered that you asked, and I really appreciate it. If I ever get around to it I'll shoot them your way. Maybe I can do a "how to" youtube vid, that would be faster (this version actually sounds harder than it is, by the way) Thanks!
this song is one of the most common played on uke, this is a really great version.... well done!! Did you get this version from somewhere or is it your own arrangement?
Its the concert. When they first did the flea, they were all soprano and they offered the "Fluke" body style in concert. As soon as they came out with the concert flea, I got one- I like the longer scale most of the time. Best Regards and keep on strumming!
Thanks! In general, yes- I find the concert easier. However, some voicings that require big stretches are easier for me on the soprano. I like them both.
Wow. Many thanks for your comment on my version :-) I played it on my Ko'olau Pono PCE (unplugged). This one is kind of gentle and you have to place your fingers very precise on the fretboard, but once you know how to handle the stregth of pulling down the strings it gives a very neat sound - that's why I love it :-)
Got most of this tabbed out just by listening - but, hey, c'mon please tab it out for us - this is the neatest version I've heard for FFT by a long way. Thanks.
Glad you got a Fluke, they're great. Sorry, I don't have tabs, but if you are just getting started here is what I would suggest-first make sure you can get your uke in tune (G,C,E,A is most common-and the G is higher than the C)Find a chord chart online and learn F,A7,D7,G,and C(if you feel ambitious learn C augmented(+)as well, that one will really make you sound like your in an old movie). Those are the main chords for 5 foot 2.There's more to it- but that's a good place to start.Have fun!
Hey. That was great. You really should post some more tunes. Its impossible to feel miserable to the sound of a ukelele being played. Think I'm going to get a Flea and learn to play....
great playing, what are the timbers used on your uke?

I think that is the soprano model - have you measured the scale? If the scale is 14", you have a soprano. Great stuff!

Thanks! In general, yes- I find the concert easier. However, some voicings that require big stretches are easier for me on the soprano. I like them both.
