@zoombahh CO2 pressure sends the fuel out, fuel hits the pilot lights, boom, flame thrower. He uses CO2 so that he doesn't cause an internal explosion of some sort in his flame thrower's fuel line should something go wrong. Oxygen + Fuel + Enclosed Space = Bad.

@can06, by the way n1a2t3h4a5l6i7e8 is my sister's username the comments I put there are mine. A mech or exo, requires properly design joints as well to give full degrees of motion, you need to calculated and find the center of gravity (mass, centroid) of the unit to avoid misbalance. Using welding thin plates is not the way to go especially for the legs I prefer thick cast and forged steel parts as they are more rigid and strong (less jerking).

@can06, this is not about seeing people jalous, this is a reality, by the way black ppl, have better jobs then do latinos. Myself I design complex machines and I am planning to build a hydraulic exosqueleton robot that will be piloted with closed-loop control pantographs, and yes is a pain in the ass to design it properly.

This isn't the first design for mecha I have seen. Most have the same problem with the legs in full walking mechcanics. Honda has the walking / climbing/ and runing mechcanics down. But I still think its cool people are building mecha at home. I have been wanting to build one basid on one of the old Robotech designs but don't have the funding or time. I like it!

Designing a real functioning mech requires insane physics, mathematics and proper understanding of bio-mechanics, balancing, P.I.D. controls and electronics. THIS IS MORE AN ART RATHER THAN ENGINEERING. Anybody can come up with ideas and make it, but not everyone can make them the RIGHT WAY!!!

Ok so there has been one thing that bugs me, this is not a transformer, its not even close.. yes it does have some resemblance to one but it does not change shape. It is an exoskeleton, more of a mechwarrior minus the guns.

But can you think about all the practical applications this holds. The time it take to do a construction project would be cut in half, also once more outfitted it could be used in more hazardous environments that a person without the exoskeleton would be able to withstand.

real transformers partially exist in the form of automated plane landing gear (as far as i recall, there's VTOLs that have retractable landing gear*), a next step (because it has practical applications) would likely be mimicing of flying beetles - ie, the kind that look like they are flightless but then their backs open up to reveal they have wings.

*just mentioning VTOLs as the need for a long runway might give the impression it's not very transformer-y
