  • isn't this guy supposed to be korean?

  • @xtine2oo9 What? He isn't allowed to speak languages other than Korean? It's probably a tourist thing. In order to draw more people in and sell more, he speaks several languages to explain.

  • @teecuppit3a I was only trying to say this guy is very good at japanese, didn't say he wasn't allowed to speak any other languages ^^

  • It is called "dragon's beard candy" to be specific in chinese. It is made from malt candy and flour:)

  • is this all over korea or just in this particular place?!?! imma try find one when i visit this summer!

  • That is awesome, he's like, rapid fire switching between English and Japanese without even a pause. I expect there to be some racist white folk who might rag on his accent but come on, this guy's talent and smart thinking totally deserves mad props.

  • I'll buy it just because he's so damn awesome! After watching that it's impossible not to buy!!!

  • LoL xD though i prefer the other vid of a guy making honey strings "Not too sweet, not too sticky~ Very, very_ YUMmmhieE!" x]

  • i like this kind of video!!! its like watching a magical performance. :)

  • understand his japaness then his english lyk sugoi :P

  • That was great o.o when I visit Korea I'll have to try and find that place xD

  • If I were to ever go to Korea , I would go broke the first week I would be there

  • For some reason his voice reminded me of Super Junior's Leeteuk! I don't know why, but it just did.

  • Understood his Japanese better than his English

  • cool! very entertaining! :)

  • why is he talking japanese .... at least better understandable than korean

  • We have this .. & it's called Dragon Beard Candy. LOL. Filled with peanuts ~ Omgosh craving for it now !

  • Isn't that chinese dragon beard candy??

  • I love this candy!

  • Woooow ^______^ That was so cool~ I want those :3 It's cool that they speak multiple languages. I speak English and some Japanese so I could understand most of what he was saying in both languages :3

  • 8192+8192=16384

  • seriously, he needs a haircut

  • i saw them make thar and i tried some in korea... so tasty!!!!

  • it's '꿀타래' not '굴타래'.. if it's '굴타래', it'd be really gross.. -_-

  • @yenee94 LOLLLL oyster candyyyyyyyyy

  • His English made me smile, he explains things in such a quirky and cute way. x3 I don't even like that candy, but I'd buy some anyways.

  • omg hes like saying a bunch of different numbers LMAOOO!!

  • i had that (dragon hair cookie/candy?) in flushing queens and it was sooooo good! they said it was a snack for the royalty

  • How weird is that i'd rather try making them than eating them? It looks awesome.

  • Aw, I had some of those the last time I was in Korea. They were so delicious!

  • Oh we had a guy just like him that did a really amazing performance for us, I just had to buy something haha >< The whole street was looking, such an amazing experience

  • Sugoi :D!!

  • lol i under stand all of his Japanese cause of anime LOL

  • i've seen something like this made somewhat differently by a chinese chef :) it's like called dragon candy or soemthing

  • Ooh you can get this in HK/CN! Called dragon sweet?

  • Hahahaha, I think I'm in love. xD

  • this is also a traditional chinese candy too its called dragon beard candy its exact same

  • what a robot.

  • Is speaking 3 different languages the qualification of this job or what? I saw other Korean guy selling this candy who spoke some Germany, Korean and English!

  • @knittingforever insadong is a traditional korean street, alot alot of foreigners from everywhere visit so the workers that work there are all highschool/college students... it's the point of the store that's what they are known for. required to know a few languages lol

  • Dragon Beard! I love those, it's usually done mainly by older chefs over here (I only seen middle age ones so far). This guy is awesome cause the biggest problem is that its super hard to count in a second language, let alone two others.

  • Ah...I bought this cookies when I went to Korea around 3 years ago. I bought a lot for a gift to my relatives ^_^ It's a unique food. I love it. I will buy it again when I get back to Korea. ^__^

  • kkkk ^^

  • Now THAT'S a hardworking worker. (:

  • I'm pretty sure he was the same person I saw at the same place when I visited Korea just a couple months ago :)

I was walking past and he shouted at me, asking where i was from, it was interesting, I wish I stopped to talk!

When I return, I'll stop there!

  • Wow not only is his English and Japanese really good he does a little bit of singing too!

I'm adding these people to my list of things to take home from Korea. Yes, you heard me, I want to take these cookie makers and put them in my suitcase.

  • my friend told me the english translation for this food would be 'dragon mustach' hahahahahahahah!! i tastes absolutly delicious!!

  • wooow.. he's awesome... and he changes so easily from korean to japanese to english hahaha i'm still confused hahaha XD .. it's really fine too that he explain to you how it's done hehe ^^

  • 2 + 2 = "pouh" XD

    꿀 (honey) 타래

  • this was my second favorite part of insadong! it was VERY entertaining and the treat was DELICIOUS! thanks for posting--good memories for me!

  • sexy asian lady is there *lushfmlk.info*

  • 궁중음식연구원에 물어봐도 꿀타래에 대한 기록은 찾을 수 없다고 한다.

한국 물품을 접해보려는 외국인들한테 물건 팔려고 뻥친게 너무 커져서

    이젠 뉴스같은 곳에서도 당당하게 한국 왕실에서 먹었다고 하는데 참;

  • 중국에서 수입한 물건에 조선 왕실 이름 붙혀서 관광객들 상대로 사기치는 곳이 여기인가요!! what a shame! It's from China. They pretend it from the Joseon Dynasty but this stuff have no connection with korea traditional.

  • The process similar to making a katana.

  • But my opinion is that it's one of korean traditional cusine cuz the word Ggultarae is a pure korean word.(I don't know if im using correct expression) I mean, in korean, everything from China is written in Chiness. What I mean is, The Chinesse pronounce the word 王 as 'Wang'(which means 'King'0. And, we korean write it in korean which has the exact pronounce. That is '왕'. And, If Ggultarea is from China, it should be chinese! But here I can't find any word from chinese.( I hope you've got it)

  • Comment removed

  • Some people say Ggultareae's from China, and some say 'It's a traditional korean cusine'. But whatever it is, it's tasty and very interesting to watch.

  • i actually understood his japanese with my "drama watching" japanese...xDDD

    DAMN!

THAT WAS AN AWESOME PRESENTATION!! >D

he can even joke in the middle of it all~

    "yon-sama janai desu yo~! ^_^"

    *O*

  • those things are mad good!

  • damn....3languages at the same time...

  • wow.....amazing! i would deffinatly buy a box after watching him do that ^^

  • Japanese/Korean/and English awesome!

    I luv anime!! xD

  • wow he is amazing. I'm am cracking up at his talking. Anyway they make that in Hong Kong in the streets too.

  • omg i remember this from a longgg time ago, it brings back memories~ thx 4 posting, now i kno wht it wuz called...i also ate them and they were so damn delicious tht i wanted more but mi aunt wudn't giv me any more than lik 1 cuz we were going out 2 eat right after...i just want 2 try it again...sigh...

  • hes incredible!!! O.O''

  • this is kinda like chinese dragon beard candy!

  • @Jellies256 It's the exact same thing.

  • "Cana-der Torrontro yeaaaah~"

ahahahah I love his pronunciations and how the other guys just repeats what he says

  • wow,, that kinda cool

  • wow! sugui ne! ang galing ah! =) I want to see this personally. Those guys are great!

  • lol he talks fast n too much

  • This thing is not Chinese. A variation of mozzi's, definitely not chinese. Chinese food are all about fried porks beefs and all that.

This is patently from either Japan or Korea.

  • @shiragi992 No, this is most definitely a Chinese snack. It's called 'dragon whisker candy'.

  • @Jade161588 Chinese food are usually greasy. This is patently Japanese and/or Korean. Chinese definitely copied from Japan and named it "dragon..." whatever.

But then, you idiots think everything originated from China. As if it is the source of power and prestige. That's why chinese are often looked down.

  • @shiragi992 I am Korean, for one. Secondly there is no need for the insults. Thirdly, look it up. Even these guys in the video admit it's from China. And lastly, not all Chinese food is greasy. There are four regions with completely different cuisine. Please do a bit of research before making assumptions and on top of it, insulting another user. Whether you agree or disagree, you were proven wrong.

  • in my video I went there the same guy is still there! haha. He even has his own little crowd everday.

  • 재미 있다~~ㅋㅋㅋ

  • wow he is trying to explain it in Japanese and english at the same time! wow that is skill...

  • This guy should be doing this on TV. As a pitchman, he's better than Vince the Shamwow guy.

I barely spoke any english, but all his action noises speak volumes. I felt like a young infant being cupped along with communication through sounds and inflection rather than defined words.

  • funny how he never spoke korean in this vid. lol He only spoke japanese and english. probably for the foreiners i guess...=) anyways, i remember seeing this when i was little. don't really remember how it tasted tho. =D

  • wau, super amazing O_O

  • interesting, i thought those cookies where Japaneses but i guess I'm wrong.

  • interesting

i love the way he talks

  • he looks so insecure..

but the cookies look so delicious !

  • japaese and english at the same time!!! omg he's amazing

  • That's really neat. I don't get why he was saying all those random numbers, but I couldn't catch all he was saying either. But anyway, this goes on the list of things to see before I die. Thanks for making a video of this. :]

  • He started with a small oval of honey, and he's stretching it into strings. Everytime he stretches and twists he double the amount of strings, and he's saying the number of strings in 3 languages! Sweet and delicious honey strings.

  • How was the cookie?

  • LOL this guy's quite interesting :)

  • Don't buy this to bring back home. It doesn't keep well and is best when eaten right away!

  • Sounds like a song.

  • wow impressive!

  • wow, anyways he can speak 3 languages, hey?

it seems he just memorized that quotes though..

and that's more a candy than a cookie!

cause that's made from sugar, not flour :) no?
