First of all, the band itself carries the story of each of the characters. They have spent years creating the story of the band, how they have evolved over time, how each of them came together. That is part of what the band is about, the mystery of what these creatures are doing together.

The second of all, is for their own privacy. If they wear masks constantly, how are you to know when one of them passes you on the street? Total anonymity.
