  • Sorry if anybody asked you this already, but what mufflers and cats to do you have installed in addition to the long tube headers. Love that sound btw

  • @shizzLd352 Thanks, SGM longtube headers (no cats) to motordyne shockwave v2 exhaust

  • Damn, that doesn't sound like any v6 I've ever heard. Good job man, seen your posts on the forums.

  • @justice2342 Thanks, i love the way it sounds too. Kinda like a baby V8.

  • How much did you stroke out to? 4.2L?

  • @SoCalVQ 4.15L

  • Sounds beast man! What brand are your Longtubes?

  • @WRXTeddy Thanks, they are SGM headers.

  • @gabe3d, Niiiice, I was looking into getting them myself, mind me asking what you paid for them? I'm thinking about getting in touch with them soon. Also any word if they are still doing the testing on the intake manifold they made in house or if its going to be released? I haven't heard anything on it myself.

  • @WRXTeddy They were 2500 with shipping and heat coating. Unfortunately I think he has stopped working on that carbon intake manifold :(

  • Car sounds sick man. Random question, just out of curiosity was there any difference in gas mileage after the stroker install?

  • @deadfluffy12 Thanks. Yeah there is a big difference. I now only average 19-21mpg.

  • When I first saw this video, I thought for sure it was someone dubbing in the sound of an LS1 motor over the video footage of a G35.... until you revved it. That thing sounds very V8'ish at idle.

  • @partyman6666 Yeah the idel sounds pretty wicked, but an LS1 definitely sounds a lot more menacing.

  • what kind of rims are those

  • @kickstah Those are Axis Zero 20"

  • what cams are you running? sounds unreal.

  • @BubbaNGoober They are some custom ones made by Rebello Racing.

  • nice build man. i really like it. awesome sound.

  • @ieatpelicans Thanks. I love the sound as well. It puts a smile on me every time I hear it still :)

  • SOOOOOOOO much more impressive than just bolting on boost!!!!!

  • @JamesBondOO7agent Project has definitely been fun, but it was a long and still ongoing project. Thanks!

  • @gabe3d Even though it was an expensive and long process. I'm glad to see that someone's building their G right. :) Besides the differentials, I'm sure your engine can take on a lot of torque now. I hope you go big with this car man, it's ready for some intense mods!

I sold my G35, and I have Evo X GSR now, getting ready to rebuild heads, bottom end block, and diffs, $15-20k.. but atleast it'll get me to 500-650whp without worries.

  • @JSlShow Just checked out your videos, nice car and good luck with your build.

I've also upgraded the stock VLSD to a Quaife LSD (great upgrade btw) as well as the axles. The latter is prolly excessive given the amount of TQ i have but better safe than sorry :) For the reamining of the year the car will most likely stay NA, but you never know what might hit me across the head...

  • @gabe3d I personally think that the stock G gearings are too long, unless it's FI'd, then I'd say it's good. But being N/A have you ever thought about changing your final drive? Give it a shorter gearing.

Could you also tell me the numbers for your current car, and what dyno you used?

  • @JSlShow When i changed the LSD i put in a 4.09 FD in it.

350/320 on a dynojet where a stock DE does 215/210. I also have straight engine dyno when we built the engine though at that time the car was tuned with a motech 800.

  • @gabe3d Those are nice numbers on a dynojet. I'm sure your G flies through those gears now. Do you break traction easily from launches and hard cornering? I always felt like even with stock power it'd break loose pretty easily. Probably a better highway car ;)

How high does it rev to with your cams? 7.5k-8k?

  • @JSlShow Thanks! It's easy to break traction at launch, but with the new tires and LSD, the car is more behaved. At hard cornering I keep the power under control so no loose end there, but the added chasis and suspension upgrades does allow me to enter and exit turns much better.

Depending on in-manifold i put on, we can max out at 7400 while making power, but with the one on now the limit is set to 7200 since the power curve doesn't demand anything more.

  • Yo all I have to say is BEAST!!, by far the sickest NA VQ i have seen. Mad props. Is this an HR or DE?

  • @StoutZ33 HRs never came out for the G35 coupe. :)

  • @StoutZ33 Thanks, it's like JSIShow said it's a DE and non-revup.

  • hell i like it fuck what anyone else says.

  • @funguy7979 Thanks!

  • @gabe3d I'm interested in gettin my hands on another g35. Since i sold my 2005 i miss it too damn much. I wanna get it but I'm puttin a chevy V8 in it with a 6speed.

  • My god.. That is amazing. Props!

  • @footballmania132 Thanks! I believe you are from Sac right? We talked once over the forum.

  • How much did it cost when it was all said and done? cheaper then going FI?

  • @Zswag22 More expensive than an off the shelf kit. The long tube headers alone cost 2500.

  • @gabe3d i researched your build on the 350z forum. damn i wanna see this thing race.

  • @Zswag22 Hopefully very soon :)

  • What camshafts? Idle sounds amazing..

  • @poop240 They are custom camshafts made by Rebello Racing.

  • Are you satisfied with the out come, Did you get what you expected ? Worth it or not

  • @Gcoups The project took a very long time but I am satisfied with the outcome. It is up to you to decide if it is worth it or not, but to put things into perspective the cost involved is about the same if not less than a built TT. This route is definitely not for those looking for big numbers.

  • @gabe3d So what does this combination give you in the quarter mile? Any idea? Also, is your choice of cams and compression a secret or will you tell us? I've got the same color G35 myself. I love it!

  • @mine1username Most likely with low compression pistons, they're better for turbo applications. Although low compression pistons makes less power than high compression, they're more flexible/forgiving tuning wise, and it's good for big turbo applications where high boost load actually gives off better and cooler air, and can be used to its potential. Unlike small turbos which will overheat and taper a lot, giving that down trend power curve.

  • @mine1username But if he plans on having a NA'd G still, he's probably using high compression pistons for more power, but that means he'll need a REALLY good tune to get low knock counts on his tune.

NA'd G sounds better than Turbo'd G. I wouldn't mind a Roots style supercharger for it, but Stillen's SC makes crap power for the amount of money spent on it.

Cams sounds fairly light, not too lopey. Probably 264/264 cams. Somewhere in the 260's, doubt it's 270's

@gabe3d the G sounds really nice.

  • @JSlShow thanks!

  • @mine1username We modelled the engine around the intake and exhaust and made a custom grind for the intake. As for the compression it is 11. Yeah I love this color as well :)

  • @Gcoups Project has been taking a lot of time and is still ongoing. But overall I am very happy with the outcome.

  • What were the numbers after the kit? The hp?

  • @Gcoups The car gained over 125/100 from stock to the wheels.

  • What kinda stroker do u have? And whats the engine size now?

  • It's a Brian Stroker 88m crankshaft and the displacement is not 4.15L.

  • @gabe3d whp?

  • @untamed326 Currently it is doing ~350whp, but we are still working on it.

  • @gabe3d any plans to take it to the trackk?

  • @Gcoups I meant to say is now 4.15L
