  • Hey Silk how are you any new plans?

    ;-)

  • @01sidiropoulos hey there !

    Thank you for dropping by.

Actually I am working on plans and a scale model for a new dummy, but the actual buiold will have to wait until spring or even sumer time.

Hope you are also well my friend

  • @blacksilkblacksilk

Aww nice for sure you gonna make a video i will be around

have a good time silk ;-)

  • Love the dummy you made and looks like you're having a great time training on it. You deserve it. I made some robot punch arms and noticed my block times are a bit better when I keep my stomach muscles tensed. Maybe it is from a more solit base to move off trom, I don't know, but it helped by about 10 ms. Best to you.

  • Excellent video. very good, complete tutorial on several areas. i applaud you :)

  • @MrTrykster Thanks very much for the kind words. I am glad if it helped in some small way, or if it was just fun to watch.

Takle care, and have a good holiday

  • nice and that dummy has nice movement to which i like nice job building it ...thumbs up to ya and best to you in your practice ..is that bottom metal for deck post or somethimg ....i like the poor masn dummy because works as good as it seems as bigger ones realy

  • @1straycat99 Thanks for the kind words. The dummy is sufficient, but I am building a much better one in spring. Timber is drying right now. (made it a point to also design it as cheap as possible.)

The metal plate is a sign of my poor workmanship. I could not figure out another sturdy way to attach the leg. Now with the new house I have a shop and all my tools are available again. Actually the metal plate is a pain in the a...s when practicing.

take care man ; have a good week

  • Nice and detailed demonstration. The improvised dummy actually looks pretty decent I'd say.

  • @SkallagrimNilsson Thankls a lot. The piece does it`s job, but I am preparing a new one. The timber is still drying but I think next spring I will start to tackle the MARK III model.

    Take care man

  • Dude one thing you dont get (you show great) but if someone wants to learn kung fu he must have a real teacher, not on youtube. If learning from youtube works in real life then everyone would learn from it :) ...Nice dummy by the way :D

  • hhahahahaha

  • Weak man's wooden dummy

  • @gcollin75 Thanks for complimenting me on doing it all with proper technique and not with sheer muscle LOL.

Looking forward though to see your strength test clips on the web.

    Until then:

Take care and have a nice day ;-))

  • @blacksilkblacksilk Your technique was fine it is just that that thing looks like it would get destroyed VERY quickly.

  • @gcollin75 Sadly that is true. Needs maintainance after every heavy duty abuse. Was a prototype for less the 70 bucks though. And all in all: sees the third season now. Working on my MARK III modell.

  • you can get skills using this dummy

  • Hahaha Its so cute your woodman :)

  • this is now a dummy.. this is an abortion...!!!

  • @div545 You know : POOR man`s wooden dummy. I am looking forwar to you presenting your own work. Until tehn. take care and have a nice day, Sir.

    silk

    ;-))

  • @blacksilkblacksilk nice answer! I already suffering from pricks of conscience for my critics ! But your creation is still an abortion! It rather be NOTHING than it be SOMEHOW..! Your piece of shit is exatly SOMEHOW..! You do not need to see my stuff! Go open any link to classic wooden dummy, which are plenty enough in here! If you poor enough- go find yourself some solid standing tree with some branch. It will be more efficient than your piece of nothing! Good luck!

  • @div545

when you try to meke a wooden dummy send us a message div545 to see your work... then we know! you have a knowledge about wooden dummy..so until then keep your profil low

    and be more respectful..;-)

  • Nice work! Improvisation!

  • @kristonren Thanks

You know how it is. Suddenly you decide that you MUST have it RIGHJT NOW !!! And then this is what comes out. You stick with it. You play around and you find out what works and what does not. in fact I am building my MARK III prototype right now.

You can see the mark II in "pimp my dummy"

    take care

  • @blacksilkblacksilk do you know anythign about kungfu and if yes whats your style :) have a ncie day great job with the dummy :)

  • @PkzMoonWalker I have received five years of intense tuition in Yang style tai Chi. That has nothing to do with the dummy but it did teach me a lot about body mechanics. I have also receivedn on and off Hung Gar and Choy Li Fat tuition, and equally on and off various Wing Chun styles. I have learned three dummy forms. One from a northern mantis style, one alleged Wing Chun dummy form 8althoug in hind sight I am not sure if it is authentic) and a Silat form.

    CONTINUED

  • @PkzMoonWalker ... CONTIUNATION:

The other arts I have dabbled in arew nit related to chinese boxing. Most important Southeastern Arts from the Filipines, Malaysia and Indonesia. A little bit ofd western Boxing and Wrestling and in my younger years ten years of Jiu Jitsu.

I practice my forms regularily on the dummy. I use Thai Boxing linniment against the bruises, and from time to time I develop on the spot drills I practice on the dummy.

    Hope that helps

take care and have a very nice day

  • Ha Ha, You look like the wooden dummy.

It's got more muscle than you! Ha Ha!!

  • @MrSilverfox333 Actually the dummy won the mister olympia contest and also kicks my ass whenever I do not look. Myself I am even skinnier the then I look on the clip. the camera was gentle to me. Also I look very much forward to see your posts on your training and the adorable results thereof. Until such times Sir take care and have a very nice day.

  • Uh the top two arms look like they're off angle...it'd be hard to kwan sao...

  • cool i have a home made dummy too but i didn't build it.

  • I really like the way you take your time and explain the details behind this type of training. Instead of jumping right into the iron arm exercise I've seen in other videos.

  • I have often thought of making one of those, though the tree I made for my cat gets used often those it is not very man like ;-)

  • @BrutusCass

Ah, it depends all on your imagination. However, from what I understand you live in Europe. So you have an intuitive grasp of the prices involved: The materials cost me 119 Euro. The build cost me an afternoon. If you put it on one of thos thick rubbermats usually found under heavy laundrymachines and put heavy sandbags on the stand you can also have it indoors without driving the neighbours crazy.

Good you are back man. Missed your wicked sense of humor.

    silk

  • SWEET! I haven't tried practicing w/ a wooden dummy, mainly because I don't know how to use it XD. W/ this kind of break down, I finally have the idea on how. Man, thanks for posting this vid =3.

  • @Loyal2law

I am glad that my vid did some good. Stay tuned. Right now I put the dummy through the grinder to see what tha lady can take. In part three I will speak a bit about my findings - and of cours show some more basics from which it might be possible to go on.

take care man and thanks for the kind words

    silk

  • TU! as always golden Silk! Awesome job on the construction and great exercises!

  • @wmpyr I chose th exercises to give maximum benefit for combat. The three starblocking can easily be expanded to a drill thta is almost identical to the heaven six, and the threading the neddle aka constant bridgepunhces from all angels are I think a great basis for most martil artists no matter what style. In fact your chainsaw could be easily praticed on this dummy as well.

    take care friend

    silk

    ;-))

  • @blacksilkblacksilk I can definitely see the chainsaw being naturally practiced here. and I can see how "the arms" provide great practice for bridgepunches too.

  • Really nice video, love the flow & seeing home made equipment. Great job all round friend.

  • @1pathseeker

I hope my homemade equipment is up to the task. Stay tuned for the third part. There I will discuss some of the pros and cons and dos and don`ts that I discovered around this specific design.

  • @blacksilkblacksilk Sounds good my friend, its all part of the learning experience.

  • an excellent video Silk showing your new wooden dummy. Good camera work and excellent instruction on the movements. 5 stars.

  • @DTGtaihojutsu Thank you. It`s just my two cents. I enjoy teaching very much, and I am thankfull that I can sharew with other martial artists, and give back what my teachers have so generously imparted on me.

take care & have a nice week
