  • how long did it take to make it

  • My dads brother left one very similar only heated with an electric coil- table mounted- now it's ours- used a little but still in the box. I'd like to know a little more about it but can't find much (except your video) on the internet.

Since we never had kids I'm probably interested in its value.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks

  • i have a smaller version, but just the boiler and outlets,i have all the nessesary fittings, but i want to build the same motion and flywheel assembly.I have the cylinders and all the rest excentrics flywheel etc.but is it all built on and aoutside frame and then connected up.Sorry its long winded. thanks

  • Thats a nice steam engine! where did you get it?

  • Great little steam engine. Where did you find it? I would be interested in getting one to set up here.

  • What does this put out, about 40 watts?

  • 40 watts, where do you see a generator, and if there was it would be more than 40 watts.

  • @DAKOTA56777, all I meant by my comment is I would be curious to know how much power this little engine develops at the output shaft.

  • That is a great little setup. What pressure are you running the boiler at? Model steam and loco boilers are hydraulic tested at one and a half times working pressure so you may be okay!

  • @0812201 Thats why I wouldnt want to hydraulically test it,the usual practice is 2times working pressure, but with old boiler,or as they age is to lower the working pressure by 20 psi or so every ten years, just to place the vessel under less stress, the boiler at the Blenheim Palace sawmill ended up running at 20psi before it was condemned!! shame, its a lovely cornish boiler, was one of the last working original boilers in its original instalation.

  • As long as the boiler was kept in good condition over the years and if a resto job was done (provided it was done right), there should be no problems with the boiler.

  • That's a very nice piece, and quite unusual to what I've seen. Where did you accuire this?
