Italians should be ashamed of themselves; this game was made by Japanese, not in Italy. I'm sorry but, this video game, by itself, is far better than all the Toga epics Hollywood ever made, and that includes "Gladiator." Japanese doing a better job in paying homage to Rome than Italians who don't even do it at all? Come on man.......

Not really Italians shouldnt be ashamed at all because the Italians historians and archeology has found and discover ancient Rome how they fought and live. Without them they wouldnt be a game in the first places. It is the historians and archeology made the Japanese fell in love with Rome history. You have to give some credit to the Italians.

They do a great job, recreating all Rome and the weapons, too goore.

This game and Spartan total warrior are the best ancient-fighting action game ever on ps2.

What needs to be emphasized is what they did RIGHT.

Frankly, I wish the empire had never fallen; I would probably have a respectable job living under Roman rule rather than the Germanic run American. Also, had Rome never fallen, the native americans of the americas may have even received better treatment, because human rights ideas might have developed sooner.

For the standards of the ancient world, all free subjects of the Roman empire in fact lived really well. A far cry from the social/racial injustice of the United States. Considering technological limits, also, outside of the slave class prosperity was more widespread; Rome was quite an achievement. There were slaves in ancient Rome, who, by the standards of those times, lived better than Mexican migrant farm workers of the U.S.

I can't stand northern european architecture, I can't stand gothic architecture; it is by far the ugliest, worst abomination I've ever fucking seen. Especially British Victorian era buildings; ugliest fucking things ever made. Roman architecture though, Greek architecture.... they understood beauty and function. Its possible for something to have both; beautiful women for instance, have both beauty AND function (giving birth). Germanic peoples are stupid; they think you can only have one.
