wow! hes a fittie in this! prefer his british accent this this is also fit1 ha i wear my watch like that :) i mean teh face facing inwards haha my mates think im weird for it =/
That's because foreign actors cost less to pay. In this his accent is fine but in movies where he is meant to be doing an American accent I often cringe but God love him he tries & does a good job with his acting so it usually covers for it. Once in a special features thing though he said he was meant to be doing a Californian accent for a particular movie & I've lived in Cali all my life... that was NO Cali accent. If he'd kept quiet about the State people would've assumed small town north.
@nellytheninkynonk ya I don't really like to judge myself, especially if the person has plenty else to compliment for the weaknesses, but since you asked I thought I'd let it be known. For some reason Scottish actors are a lot better at doing an American accent, like a west coast American accent. Not so much the English, have no idea why that is, they tend to try too hard. With this said, I can't seam to do very good English accents, but can do a nearly perfect Glaswegian accent. ?? dunno
@SaraESainsbury Ah, no I wasn't implying we had no right to judge I just meant I didn't becaue I'm not familiar enough with American accents. I mean I've lived in Manchester, England all my life and yet I can't do a Northern accent even. I just have a sort of no accent. It completely throws people.
I think English and American people find it hard to recreate each other's accents because they are almost too similar...?
@nellytheninkynonk don't worry I know you weren't implying it in a bad way :)
Sometimes when I hear an Irish accent I think that is very similar to an American the way we be sure to pronounce the 'R's ya know, but we suck at doing Irish accents. Whereas the English are really relaxed in pronouncing the R's. I think it's cos most of our original ancestors were from Ireland. But I know what ya mean, It doesn't even phase me when I hear an English person or Scottish for that matter....
...I used to live in Scotland and also San Diego, California, both places: full of British people. And I think of our accents as VERY similar. I can do a Glasweigian and some English accents better than I could EVER do a New York City accent
@SaraESainsbury Yeah, the best accent I can recreate is an Irish one because most of my family are Irish and when I was in a production of Grease, the voice coach told me to lean into my Irish accent because it lent itself to American more. Not that it helped much...
I adore Andrew in Heart of a Dragon...it seems as if he was told that if he said 'dude' a lot he'd sound American =P Still it's better than, say, his accent in Dead Fish. I don't even get why he had to be American in that?
@nellytheninkynonk lol that's funny about saying 'dude'. I think I say it a lot more than I realize. It's not really an American thing as much of a California thing, other states make fun of us from Cali for saying it so much. I've been told we have sort of our own language. ? I don't say it too excessively, but my SoCal bros do, they surf & skate; stoners. I've not seen Heart of a Dragon, don't think it's out here in the States. :( But ya, Dead Fish was the movie I was talking about before.
wow... ive just faved a commercial. i never thought THAT would happen. but then, how can you go wrong when it stars Andrew?
