This song was released on March 19 2003 - the day America dropped bombs on innocent Iraqis based on lies, lies and more lies. I will never forget the deep sense of shame I felt that day - and continue to feel because we, the outsiders, could not stop it from happening.

I had a female student (Grade 8, age 13) several yeas ago who had been sexually abused in her younger years.

She was rebellious, defiant and persistently obnoxious, all of which were perfectly understandable given what she had been through.

Toward the end of the year I played her this song and asked her to please consider the lines,

" ... Forgiveness take a back seat to revenge; There's a hurt down deep which has not been corrected; There's a voice in me which says you will not win."
