Certifications such as the CPA and CFA are very important to separate yourself from peers, not to mention it will give you unbelievable insight in analyzing information which could lead to a promotion. But I must caution anyone who is watching this video and intrigued by the earning potential. You will work a lot of hours if you want to succeed, and you have to really enjoy what you do, or you will not be effective anymore than a temp hire. Do not pursue this career path for the money only.

I am a finance graduate, and I recommend studying for the CPA and CFA as you are learning the material in your senior year of your bachelors for exposure to financial scenarios. As a former executive of a large publicly traded company, I should inform you that communication and problem solving skills are vital to success especially in finance. If you are considering fields of entry, looking to the industry that you may want to work throughout your career and tailor your education around it.
