Think about the poor men and women & children who slave for hours everyday in the heat mining and sifting through rocks and dirt for pennies a day to get this rock on a woman's finger. That's why they are called blood diamonds. A diamond doesn't mean anything.
I hate these commercials. A man has to go in debt by buying a fuckin' fossilized rock just for some bitch who will probably divorce his ass anyway.
Women prostitute themselves for goods. If they don't, they'll claim "sexism" and run to daddy government for special legislation to castrate their other half.
And that's especially true in the United States, where women cause a nearly %50 divorce rate by filing divorces %75 of the time.
And I'm supposed to buy a diamond? Fuck outta here.
what happened to the other version of this ad? Came out about five or six years ago. It used this very beautiful melody( It sounded Russian, but I could be wrong). The original melody fit so perfect for this ad. I'll have to look it up....
The same video in this commercial was coupled with a different melody, about the same time, maybe earlier. It was orchestral, lots of violins. Does anyone remember it? And, more importantly, can anyone tell me the name of the piece? While I still have some hair left. :-)
I found out the original with the different melody is from 2002(that was a while back, wow). Anyways, the original melody is a altered version of a song from a film called 'In The Mood For Love'. It's called Yumeji's Theme by Shigeru Umebayashi. It's a beautiful song. Which is why I like the original ad better.
lol a little personal note on this one , i first came across this commercial while watching my tv frying on acid, needless to say, it definitely left an impression
I love the guitar verson they used for the song and I love the meaning behind the video too, it's my favorite commercial ^_^. That actually happened to me once with my boyfriend; it was a sweet and heartwarming experience that I'll never forget.
While the previous version in 2002 had some kind of waltz-y tune, it reminded me more of a sad, kind of somber, funeral, kind of thing....
But this 2008 version is PERFECT. These two couples are out for a romantic, slow, relaxing stroll in the park. This song reminds me of exactly just that.

I can see why Paul McCartney invited Juber to play in his band Wings- his acoustic work is amazing- its all very creative!

I think it was Bach's Cello Suite No. 1?
williewily87 2 years ago
No, I don't think so. I've listened to several recordings of the Bach and I don't find a similarity.
Thanks, anyway.
