@SpurioCarvilio Non sono d'accordo. Il brano non è strutturato in maniera articolata e complessa come quelli che definisci i veri Genesis. Questo lo condivido. Appartiene all'epoca pop-romantica dei Genesis. Pur tuttavia è dotata di una magica semplicità che le dona una incomparabile unicità e bellezza. Personalmente una delle più belle (anche grazie ai testi..) canzoni pop di sempre. Per comporre un brano così semplice e così bello, bisogna essere....Genesis. Non c'è altra possibilità.....

I remember at 5:30 in the morning I was waking up at watching Cold Case Files and this was playing at the end. The week before my grandfather (who outside of my gf and my parents have been the closest person in my life) was called by God and I broke down and cried because my grandfather was a close person to me and when my dad was hundreds of miles away my grandfather would pretty much play the father role in my life when my dad wasn't there. this invokes so many memories, I was in Northern Ireland in the 70's when this came out and was still grieving one of my colleagues had just been killed in a IRA ambush. It was about a week later I heard this coming out of shop we passed on patrol, I had been into Genesis since their beginning. It really hit me he wasn't coming back. such a terrible time, but time does really heal. Still brings a tear when I hear this

Wenn I write this I think at my only sister Veronique who died of cancer. Seeing her die in agony and not be able to help her. I would have given my life to help her. It are songs like this that let the sun shine. I imagine myself somewere in California on a hill at a campfire watching the sun go down in company of al my friends and loved ones.

@ShamrockFive my wife died of cancer too. I know exactly how you feel. her doctor's couldn't save her, but I bear the guilt that I couldn't save her.

Cancer is so horrible. besides the agony, it does horrible things to a person's appearance. My wife was absolutely stunning, but the disease ravaged her. I barely recognized her as she neared her end.

Let's pray someday cancer is conquered. Nobody should have to go through that, patient or the one's that love the patient.
