I have to agree with this review. While they are both sweet mice, I have tried both (I actually used the cataclysm steelseries not this one) and I can say without doubt that the learning curve needed to use the naga is unnecessary compared to using the steelseries. The SS feels more natural, more accessible and more comfortable.
In all honesty, I don't "need" 14 extra buttons just 1 or 2, which is why I finally landed on the RAT7 after experiencing first hand, both of these rather bloated mice.
If I didn't use the razer naga, I would probably agree with you but after a while you actually get used to this mouse, I mean you can be more lazy you could bind all kinds of keys :P
The WoW mouse is better simply because the design is much more comfortable. Also, the naga's buttons are too easy to accidentally hit. But i prefer the [Legendary] WoW mouse because it fits perfectly in your hands and the buttons have a much better placement.

The naga is a better mouse for hard-core raiding and it is more numbers, and if you get the epic it's made for larger hands, i personally have used the newer steel series mouse, as well as the naga epic, the mamba, and i actually still like and use their keyboard the "Merc" for its mobility you get, and i use the headset that is used by most top guilds, the "Siberia V2" and i just dislike the "WoW" mouse, the Naga is a bit better for game play (on the epic) if you want to use it.
I agree what you said about the naga it's only ideal for ppl with small hands, and you know what they say about people with small hands they also have tiny brains.
I also have big hands and gladly sacrificed 2 buttons for an extra knuckles length and width (im using the WoW mmo gaming mouse (cataclysm version) and the thumb button on mine (or all buttons imo) are way better than the earlier version of the wow mouse!

Here are two mice. First - my old wow mouse, I have been using it for 100 years. Second - the new Naga which I didn't use at all. Obviously my old one rocks since I am a noob and can't learn anything new.
AW FFS, just use it for a month or two. Naga owns the fuck out of any other mouse. Just get used to it, it pays off with interest.
Yes the low buttons are not easy to reach without practice, just spend a week and you will be amazed how fast you will respond to situation with the right spell.

hehe, i ended up with steel series to be honest i like the steel series becasue its spread out and a larger mouse but naha is smaller but more buttons and more keybinds the thing i like with steel series is that the button place ment and the size of the buttons is awesome it makes it so much easier to hit but the button next to my little finger is hard to hit when i rotate my character with my mouse so thats a bit of a let down , but naga is awesome just i prefer the steel series :P

The naga is plainly a better mouse. The naga took me 2 hours to get used to, the buttons are kinda small i agree, but then you get used to them. The steelseries buttons feels loose, and doesnt always give proper to response to clicks all the time. Also the steelseries one isnt comfy for people with small hands. Naga does in all sizes. Also, steelseries mouse feels plasticy and cheap, naga feels premium and the paint doesnt scratch off. Ive got fairly big hands.

like a frost mage for the majority only uses 2 buttons to do damage, and dk only spam 4 buttons to kill someone.

@TheBloodyFloody nope. my first character was feral druid and i have a razer deathadder and i did not need to keybind that much. just bind mangle and shred to the side buttons and alt and shift bind everything else and there you go. warlock however has so many spell + so many macro combinations which makes it alot more reliant on many keybinds.
Actually, usable button wise, the naga wins hands down but I see what you mean when you say that it's quite small. The naga is very small but if you are to get the naga epic with the special grips, the palm grip actually makes the mouse quite bigger, I only have the molten so I can't do that and it is quite small for me but it's still quite easy to get use to.
WoW mouse is awesome in the way it works with the game. I find the buttons in a find placement, it makes my heals SO easy.
DOWNSIDE: Paint comes off within a few short months, which is now nasty/turning my hand green. I don't even want to touch it. :( SO I am seeking a new/better mouse that wont do that.

@wkiernan I use a UI addon called bartender4, in the options you can set certain bars to change action pages when holding each of the 3 modifier keys.

@GladiatorsEPIC Well, you're forgetting the Razer Anasi keyboard! THat one has all the modifiers more easily available, about where the touchpad is on a laptop. So yes, I expect anyone to be able to press all those modifiers, and a button on the Naga at the same time.
@Nykore get a razer anasi and u can utalise your other tumb fully and also it lifts weight of lil and ring finger to push macro buttons on the keyboard :D
Naga = much worse sensor (philips twineye), problems with microswitchs, and finally absolutely not ergonomic placement of buttons. Even on Saitek Command unit sometimes i have problems with remembering buttons which i dont use often. On razer naga , where one finger (not so flexible) must use 12!! buttons i couldnt remember a thing. Not to mention that it was hard to reach quickly every single one without clicking the other For me Naga is another sh*tty shiny waste of money from Razer.
But I'll give my conclusion to what I just watched:
It's all personal feel. The only reason I've heard you not prefer the naga is you can't reach the buttons because your hand is too big.
I absolutely hate the steelseries. because the buttons are everywhere. I like to use my equipment to it's full potential, that means I'd use every button for something.. but when they're ALL over my mouse, my muscle memory is going to be a lot slower.
The Naga looks like a very nice mouse, but as a personal preference, I like my buttons spread out. And also, my hands are massive and I heard the Naga is pretty small. Not sure if I'd like it. Not saying it's a bad mouse, it's just a personal preference thing.

Naga is great BUT it's made for small hands, so uncomfortable at long gaming! I still use naga but I'm looking for a better mouse.

i know why he dont like naga over the WoW mouse. its because he played feral and feral only spam a few buttons so he doesnt need that many keybindings.
like a frost mage for the majority only uses 2 buttons to do damage, and dk only spam 4 buttons to kill someone.
but if you play something like a lock or a class that require alot of macro u would want a naga

@TheBloodyFloody nope. my first character was feral druid and i have a razer deathadder and i did not need to keybind that much. just bind mangle and shred to the side buttons and alt and shift bind everything else and there you go. warlock however has so many spell + so many macro combinations which makes it alot more reliant on many keybinds.

Actually, usable button wise, the naga wins hands down but I see what you mean when you say that it's quite small. The naga is very small but if you are to get the naga epic with the special grips, the palm grip actually makes the mouse quite bigger, I only have the molten so I can't do that and it is quite small for me but it's still quite easy to get use to.

WoW mouse is awesome in the way it works with the game. I find the buttons in a find placement, it makes my heals SO easy.
DOWNSIDE: Paint comes off within a few short months, which is now nasty/turning my hand green. I don't even want to touch it. :( SO I am seeking a new/better mouse that wont do that.

Lol I'm sorry but people care that much about a laser at the bottom all that should matter is does it click does it move your cursor and can you get used to it for me the steel series buttons are weird and pushing all over is not right but 1-12 on the naga and the 2 on the top left side is vent and focus

If your hand goes swet, you cant play with wow mouse. And wow mous goes to be awfull very soon, but naga no. Its unconfortable to use buttons near the weel.

The razer naga has to be the best mouse Ive ever used. When you use it in conjunction with shift, alt, and cntrl, you get a total of 42 hot keys.

no modifier, alt, shift, ctrl, alt+shift, alt+ctrl, shift+ctrl, alt+shift+ctrl = 12*8 = 96

@GladiatorsEPIC Well, you're forgetting the Razer Anasi keyboard! THat one has all the modifiers more easily available, about where the touchpad is on a laptop. So yes, I expect anyone to be able to press all those modifiers, and a button on the Naga at the same time.

Naga = much worse sensor (philips twineye), problems with microswitchs, and finally absolutely not ergonomic placement of buttons. Even on Saitek Command unit sometimes i have problems with remembering buttons which i dont use often. On razer naga , where one finger (not so flexible) must use 12!! buttons i couldnt remember a thing. Not to mention that it was hard to reach quickly every single one without clicking the other For me Naga is another sh*tty shiny waste of money from Razer.

I know all you're trying to do is help here.
But I'll give my conclusion to what I just watched:
It's all personal feel. The only reason I've heard you not prefer the naga is you can't reach the buttons because your hand is too big.
I absolutely hate the steelseries. because the buttons are everywhere. I like to use my equipment to it's full potential, that means I'd use every button for something.. but when they're ALL over my mouse, my muscle memory is going to be a lot slower.

The Naga looks like a very nice mouse, but as a personal preference, I like my buttons spread out. And also, my hands are massive and I heard the Naga is pretty small. Not sure if I'd like it. Not saying it's a bad mouse, it's just a personal preference thing.
