  • Voss Died playing with His joy stick like all them tossers!

  • I love this movie. I sure wish it would come to Cable TV.

  • being praised by your enemies for your fighting spirit and qualitites must be one of the highest honors you can receive as a fighter pilot.

  • Voss should get a proper grave instead of being dumped on a muddy field outside Ieper (so should all other German ww1 soldiers)

  • omg i love voss

  • i bet now he changes he's plane red and cool go red baron

  • Taking on 7 planes, downing 2 of them and damaging every other... now THAT is flying! Even James McCudden, who was leading the Allied flight was full of praise for Voss.

  • @KrautGoesWild Actually he took on 6 planes and did not down any of them but did get shots on all 6.

  • @TheLloydA1 Really? I read about this in a book years ago and they said he shot down two planes...

I´ll kick in Wiki and Google about this.

    Have a nice day ;) !

  • @TheLloydA1 was six from the elite 56 squadron and 2 from 60 squardron.....the elite 56 includes McCudden and Rhys-Davis ....

  • Til Schweiger, who played Wernher Voss, is a talented German actor. He does a god job in lots of toles. He was in "Saving Private Ryan," "Der Rote Baron," and "Inlgourious Basterds."

  • This movie needs to be on HBO or Showtime. Soon please.

  • Voss was a great pilot and Jewish. He did take on seven planes alone and put up a brave and skilful fight.

  • Long live to Werner Voss! He had 48 victories and dies fighting alone with 7 enemies for 10 minutes.

    R.I.P

  • Does anyone know if this was true about the Bentley engine in Voss' DR1?

  • @DragwayRipper I have to correct my earlier post. Voss had a LeRhone fitted to his plane in the field, and that was the engine that was in his plane when he was shot down.

  • Richthofen vs Boelcke vs Voss who would win?

  • @xomanowar42

    Voss would

  • @MrAop2 Voss first? I'd say that if you're rating pilots by skill no score. Richthofen even said once taht Voss would most likely be the man who would pass him up in score, Voss just did not live long enough. Richthofen's brother was also a very good pilot Lother. Though he actually was out of action for so many months do to more than one injury and accidents, in fact for how little air time he had he actually was shooting down planes faster than his big brother.

  • this scene had me in such heart break. Richthofen once said if anyone could ever best his score and surpas him it would most likely be Voss, I do not think Richthofen was being modest about it either, he know him well as a friend.

  • At least Voss died doing what he loved most.

  • In terms of sheer piloting and skillful dogfighting, Werner Voss was the best pilot of WWI

  • I agree, and because he had to invent those moves himself, I consider him the best of all time.

  • @DonTheCritic You're probably right! Total kill tallies are not a very accurate measuring stick of a pilot's ability--Voss, unlike von Richtofen, was a natural flyer.
