I am now determined to do this duet with someone at my school for the talent show... If only you could get Dave Powers to play it again, but with a camera above his hands, or sheet music in front of his face...
@mik4000123 There was no sheet music. Dave just figured his own arrangement by listening to the original recordings of the full orchestration. If you do it for the talent show make sure to report back :-)
@LieutenantTango I'm sorry to report that I doubt very much if it exists anywhere. I encourage you to try and learn it the way Dave did, by listening closely to recordings (or to this video) and figure out a close facsimile yourself. Best of luck, and have fun!
@pianoguytv It may not exist as a duo but evidently it does exist as a solo. In Youtube's search box enter "raymond scott's powerhouse" and "donnywest". During the first few seconds on this video you will see the sheet music (the cover, that is).
In general like like this video. Nice use of effects technology to have a man play a duet of a classic jazzy tune with himself. But... "the magic of television?" Really? That line? in the 21st century? I am so disapointed.
Funny, I always knew this guy was tallented. I went to school with him, my mom never liked him, bet she would have now huh? Way to go Dave, and Happy Birthday!

Announcer, just so that you know, this is not a "song," as you mistakenly made reference to. The word "song" implies to sing. As I recall, I didn't hear any words being sung from the pianist's mouth. This is a piece or a work. This is a common mistake, generally made by musically uneducated people. Hope this sheds some light for you.
Do some of you people have nothing better to do than troll the internet? Yes, there were a FEW mistakes, but sheesh, the guy's only human. Just sit back and listen to the great piano work.
I have the original piano score for this piece and its perfectly easy to play.. this is his crazy duet version which is nice, but you cant be the original!
I've watched enough cartoons to know that you don't need to duplicate the guy through the magic of television to play a complex piece. You just need to put a mouse inside the piano.
This usually only works for Franz Liszt tunes, so that may be why they needed the extra pianist.
Yup, I most certainly remember the mouse and Hungarian Rhapsody #6. Scott does an admirable job of meking me remember just how influential Warner Brother cartoons were in exposing young (and old) minds to ALL genres of music - from Boogie to Opera to mountain fiddle tunes for square dancing! And also the phrase "when I say whoa, I meenz WHOA! Great job Scott!
@Bob65001 haha, i know that XD, ive just noticed his epic headbanging towards the end lol, he also looks like hes gona piss himself laughing when he plays the main riff
I guess that's way to do it to get it right!!!
