" Taken from Nasa's site so according to that we still have a few hours left until it's at it's closest. I've tried to look for it as of 1:49am but it's too dark to see.
This is my theory... With FEMA performing the Tsunami Drill the day after YU55's closest approach to the Earth is because the following day, the 9th, is the asteroid's closest approach to the moon. Say this asteroid does impact the moon or has some kind of effect... wouldn't that affect our oceans? Just a thought people.

"Radar observations from the Arecibo Planetary Radar Facility in Puerto Rico will begin Nov. 8, the same day the asteroid will make its closest approach to Earth at 3:28 p.m. PST (6:28 p.m. EST/1128 UTC). " Taken from Nasa's site so according to that we still have a few hours left until it's at it's closest. I've tried to look for it as of 1:49am but it's too dark to see.

This is my theory... With FEMA performing the Tsunami Drill the day after YU55's closest approach to the Earth is because the following day, the 9th, is the asteroid's closest approach to the moon. Say this asteroid does impact the moon or has some kind of effect... wouldn't that affect our oceans? Just a thought people.

I doubt we will see any impact, infact i believe it's still going to be about 325,000km (202,000miles) away from earth, I'm not sure where you get 50,000 miles from. I suppose we will just have to wait but its very exciting, I found details here on yu55, spaceweatherblog.blogspot.com

Isn't Richard Hoagland the same imbecile who had undeniable proof of previous civilizations construction on the moon ? RH is a clown, he's a media whore who can't generate headlines due to his research, so he's become chicken little. YU-55 won't hit the Earth or Moon, but if it does hit the moon, it will become a nice new feature that will be the subject of real scientists and not some publicity hack like Hoagland.

Its funny to watch people hang themselves! The real jpl data was in videos all over the place back in September when people thought the sky was going to fall on 9/26-9/28 so people probably did not pay attention. Funny thing is I intentionally do not make videos and have the jpl model which according to the numbers will not be .8 ld from earth on 11/9! Again look at minutes 3:11-3:16...Where oh where did little November 9th go?

Look close when the video shows the actual jpl diagram... They skip the video from Nov 8 to the 11th but leave out Nov 9. It shows several shots which all go from Nov 8 to the 11th...Where is the data from 11/9-11/10? Minutes 3:11 - 3:18 in the video!!!

What makes Hoagland think that gathering all those leaders on Oahu is proof that nothing will happen? Think about it, what a wonderful opportunity it would be to wipe out all these world leaders in one fell swoop than to gather them all together in one spot! If YU-55 were to hit the ocean - BOOM - all gone with a tsunami. If YU-55 hits the moon - BOOM - all gone in a hail of moon chunks. There are some VERY bad people out there that would LOVE to see that happen.

In Hoagland's defense, he's giving the worse-case scenario, if JPL is not giving us accurate data. He said the President will come on the emergency warning network saying something has shifted the orbit so that now its going to hit the moon. If JPL did do this there will be a 'cry wolf' phenomenon in place for the next stellar emergency - and I don't think they would want this. They are just rebuilding their reputation after Elenin and Planet X. For better solar plots on both check out TBar1984

@JuliaLeigh7111 - distance from earth to moon is approximately 239,000 miles. Commercial aircraft may fly at about 30,000 FEET, which is less than 6 miles. So if this asteroid approaches as close to 50,000 MILES, (not feet), that is still pretty far away.
