  • I <3 your pants!

  • This was a lot better than any of the "professional" instructional videos that I've seen :3 We need more ordinary dancers making these!

  • you have great energy!..a sweet soul...and I think maybe a peaceful warrior! thank you for doing this for us!! i am a beginner at 48 years old and have been single for several years. Learning to belly dance is a way for me to fight depression! So, you are actually really helping me to heal, in many ways. And when I find a good man I'm sure he won't mind that I can belly dance for him too! You are a true Goddess angel....I hope you make some more videos! ..Michelle

  • im sry girl i started watching this for the instruction but i got distracted by your amazing figure, its sexy

  • Egyptian style ..........

  • WOW, thank you. I never stop watching these dumb videos, because I'm to cheap to take a class, and you are literally the first person to explain it well enough for me to understand, and you take it slow enough for my not to smart body. Haha, really, these are great! Thank you!!!!

  • Its beautiful all steps you teach very nicely friend, love to see you dancing.

  • u cute

  • You are a GREEEAAAT teacher!

  • You have such a gorgeous figure! Great video!

  • what is the name of the song in the background, well the instrumental?

  • You have a godess body and know how to use it.

Veena and Neena are great but intimidating.

I'll keep my eye out for more from you...

  • Hi Dani! You're a great dancer, and have a gorgeous figure. You go girl!

  • hey thanks its good to see other learners teaching others

  • perfect belly

  • This was really helpfull for belly dancing, i don't think you fat at all . . . anyway keep up the awesome work :)

  • to sugarbar79.. Her posture is correct to belly dance. If you are pulling your rump up it will cause pressure on your spine and grinding when you shimmy or do any belly dance moves. Also, if you do pull up on your rear that is just as bad if not worse than keeping it tucked. Your posture should be natural for your specific body but when dancing it must be correct. no slouch chest up shoulders back and down pelvis tucked and knees soft

  • Hey girl way to go, I teach a beginning and an intermediate class through my community college. Its so much fun you keep up the good work your doing great

  • tucking your hips in like you advise at the beginning of your video is actually what causes low back pain for most people because it flattens out the lumbar spine and puts a lot of pressure on that part of the spine ... that slight curve is supposed to be there ... Look up "flattened lumbar lordosis" ...

  • I luv ur vids...I'm gonna learn this way...thanks!

  • This is great! I am a beginning belly-dancer and your easy-to-understand breakdown of the basic hip drop was really helpful to me as I practice at home. I have my first formal class in two weeks! Wish me luck!

  • sexy and smooth !

  • you should wear a belt with medallions on it to give more illusion that ur hips are moving up and down. i know u probly do.

  • like the music what is it called...cool vid

  • i think ur cool, u remind me of myself in the mirror trying all of this stuff but ur better.lol. I wish ur pants were darker becz the color blends with the wall behing u. u have some good tips! thanks

  • Positively lovely~! I'm really glad that you posted this. I feel really comfortable watching such a lovely, kind person and I think this'll help me and my lack of ability to dance

  • you are very sexy I LOVE YOU.

  • You are beautiful!

  • just wanted to say... i love you! *hugs* your personality, your mannerisms, just, wow, i wish more people were as obviously kind-hearted and spirited as you are. thank you so much for making these videos! :)

  • i agree with triangle232... it is so obvious from your face, your way of talking and everything that you are such a good and kind person.. i want to be your friend, i really do.. i am also an amateur belly dancer.. i find your way of explaining the movements much more easier to understand than the way professional dancers do it.. thank you so much for your videos.. i really want to be your friend :-)

  • You look great, lovely belly, don't ever hide it :) Nice video too.

  • she has some detailed instructions so i dont think people should diss her i think she is good and she doesnt care what u say anyway am sure - KEEP THE VIDEOS COMING CHCK - FANTASTIC

  • so bad posture is better for you? whatttt?

true though, it does hurt your back standing up straight

  • In the belly dance world, it is not bad posture at all! It's actually the proper posture 9for that particular kind of dance), and any instructor worth their salt will tell you the same.

  • great lesson dani! i juz hope that you can show your leg movement too..keep dancing! n btw, is bellydancing able to reduce fat in our belly?

  • you are really pretty...just thought i should say :D

  • What is it that you said you had because you tuck your belly in?

I do that like everyday :|

  • first off thanks much i've wanted to go take class BUT I have a little bit of blubs so haha grace the gods to you :) One problem though i can't seem to isolate my hips to do the pop any suggestions??

  • Wow good! Its hard to say with out looking at how you are doing it but here are some pointers.

Make sure you are keeping your spine in a neutral position, stretch very well first, and practice because you need the muscles in your lower abs and lower back to be strengthened to initiate this move! Did this help?!

  • I want to say that I admire you for doing this and thank you for doing it - it helps me as an early beginner !

  • Right on!

  • love your soft plump belly dont change

  • LOL ok

  • pro.but sexy.congratulations

  • Thank you!

  • When you do the hip lifts, lift your hips from your obliques and only use the foot as balance.

    It will look more graceful.

  • Omg thank you so much, im 13 but im practicing still, i watch your video everyday =]

  • Awesome girl! Its such a good way to get into or stay in shape! It's fun and it really makes you feel good about your self doesn't it?!?!

  • It does, could you tell me what i could do with lyk my waist though, cuz lyk my waist is really tiny, i as luk pear shape but now its gone out again and i cant seem to fiind the rythem in my hips anymore and imr eally confused with my weight now but you have a lvoely fiigure but i dunno wat 2 do..

  • :D Thank you so much!! Its nice to finally watch someone with a real body belly dancing.. if you get me :$ Thanks again :)

  • I get you and Thank you!

  • awesome! thanks! i'm subbing.

  • Right on!!!! Thank you Lazygurl!!!!

  • You look natural and confident, I think that's the most important part of dancing, so just ignore those guys, haha

  • I do for the most part. Sometimes they get under my skin and I have at them but usually I keep my cool and ignore them. Comments like yours more than make up for it! Thank you!

  • Such a lovely belly. I want to lick it!

  • um i have a boyfriend....

  • great teacher, easy to follow

  • Thank vandenberg

  • your a good teach

    and thanx!lol

    peace

  • thanks you

  • I agree with DancingFae: I wouldn't have mentioned a "step" when explaining this movement. In fact I usually get people to try do it with all the weight on hte opposite and the foot lifted off the floor.

Apart from that this video is AWESOME!!! Great job!

    Keep spreading the love!!!!!!

  • Thank you!!!

  • The only thing I have to add is that this movement is called a hip lift, and its powered from the glutes and obliques (muscles that run along the sides of your abdomen)You aren't supposed to step during the movement, and don't twist your upper body so much, as it prevents layering of upper body movements with the hip lift. Otherwise nice job, very informative

  • Ive heard it called many things, thanks for the crit!!!

  • loved it!

  • im so glad!!!

  • good teacher

    very helpful

  • thank you hun

  • You're beautiful love :) And a great teacher too! (I'm a beginnner and I found this helped me out alot)

  • WOW that is one of the sweetest things i have ever heard. I hope you keep watching and posting cause that is the kind of thing i need to hear!

  • THIS IS BRILLLLLLLLLLLL

    thankyouuu

but when you are doing the pops do you lift your foot?

    thankkkkkyouu

  • Awesome, loved your barbie girl vid lol, smashing, when you do the pops your heel can come up a bit for emphasis, but you really want to get it down the normal way, with both feet fully planted, and then use lifting the heel for extra height. Does that help?

  • You know what? You ROCK! I respect your confidence and gusto...keep it up! Yeah!

  • Thank you laylay!!!

  • you are awesome.

  • Thank you sooooo much fogged!

  • I think you've done really well in explaining the movements and the importance of proper posture. I have a short vid on you tube belly dancing. I'm pretty new at it as well. Great job!

  • This is really wonderful! I've always wanted to learn how and you really make it seem easier than I make it out to be. I was dancing a long and it feels like it's also a great workout when you're not used to using those muscles in those ways. Thanks again!

  • Awesome!

  • really good instructional video, even though you say youre an amateur it is still good, and dont worry about your "gut", esp with belly dancing it is nice when you have a belly to shake

  • hey, girl, keep posting vids! like serenejen said "it's a really cool FREE way to learn"....keep the vids coming! thanks for posting

  • nice ass shakin..."yo"

  • If you are an amateur, why the "teaching" video? Why not just make a video of you dancing?

  • you are brave to put this on the internet and you...are...AWESOME! you obviously love bellydancing enough to offer help to other people despite being an amateur. you have great confidence and look very friendly. i take bellydancing every once in a while and this helps me a lot! you should become a teacher. i can tell you would have a GREAT time :)

  • You are very sweet but I dont know enough to be paid to do this. I mainly do this for myself and my peers.. thank you

  • Not bad, dahling! You're showcasing a "moving" hip pop up - which is why you use the step/touch method with your toes/feet. Basic hip pops need to be done in a totally neutral position, with no 'swinging' of the hips or body in either direction - just a hip up, which comes from the back of the foot, up through the knee, the gluts and into a sharp hip up. The hip twist forward is also supposed to be sharp & controlled. Keep dancing! You're on your way! :D

  • THANK YOU!

  • Thanks ^^ this video really great and helpful..its actually easy LOL the other tutorials make it look so much harder than it is..

  • You just have to break it down to the most basic steps. Then add them together for a layered effect. Like a figure eight, and a shimmy then shimmy with a figure 8 added. easy!

  • brilliant keep it up , ur very good and have a wonderful figure and move

  • Thank you stephy

  • thanks!very helpul!!!!! keep it up!!!

  • Thank you for watching it really keeps me going!

  • omg. Our bodies are, like, identical! O_O

  • REALLY!!!!?

  • Wow, this is a really cool idea. I've been interested in learning how, and it's so cool that you've done this because its a really cool free way to learn. I'm really glad to see that you've done a bunch more. I'm going to practice every day now that I found these videos... I know you're an amateur, but you are very thorough and I felt like this was easy to follow. A million thanks!!!

  • You rock. Thank you for posting such a sweet comment. What are the chances of you doing a video response to this? lol

  • Ha ha slim to none. Well maybe when I reach my goal weight. I'm using bellydance to lose weight now and your videos helped to inspired me... now I practice from these and I got a bellydance dvd from a friend and I've lost so much weight this summer because of it!

  • the step and press movement really in formed me on how big your arse is compared to the rest of the mess you would have to be a yank bible basher.

  • That's right I am a big arsed yank bible basher and proud of it!!!!
