  • @RipTheJackR Art Laffer is the guy who, when debating Bob Mcintyre, said in 2006 that bush tax cuts were beneficial to the economy and that it will lead to a boom market the like's of which have never been seen before.....then we had a economic collaspe....so?

  • Love Cenk, watch his show all the time....but when he starts talking about economics with a libertarian...he gets owned.

  • Hmm, I kind of like both guys here, both are smart guys, but Cenk clearly outplayed Laffer here. I think Laffer dropped the ball when he supported Harding and Coolidge. Umm, maybe we shouldn't bring up the two guys who paved the way for Hoover to lead us into the Great effing Depression?! He says Harding and Coolidge were good but Hoover was bad? That's an American History 101 fail, they were all three pretty much the same person in every political way.

  • good debate nice on both sides thats how you do it

  • Man I didnt find that Laffer guy that unintelligent. Capitalism is a game, and keynsian policies tend to make small enclaves(countries) perform better than supply side economics would allow them to, also making them more robust vs crisis. SupplySide often rewards capitalists and allows greater flow of capital. .So pick your poison, strong state or weak economy, capitalism will be the doom of us all ;)

  • Even if you have no clue as to which of these two is correct, is there anyone who honestly believes you get more growth and a more robust economy by taking more from the biggest producers and having that money distributed by the sticky fingered government bureaucrats?

  • Dang, this guy owned Cenk.

  • 1928? Oh, you meant Oct of 1929? Get the years right Cenk.

After Hoover was already in, the depression happend because of OVERSPECULATION and the cheap credit of the FEDERAL RESERVE. Please know WHY it happend.

  • @calimar28 I believe the words, "right before" might have some importance in understanding what Cenk said. Right before, lax regulation & low upper income taxes 1928 and 2007. After, crash of 1929 and 2008.

Comment on what people say, not what you think they said.

  • rate remained low until summer of 1930 when the smoot-hawley tarriff was passed. government policies turned that single crash into a complete disaster. at least laffer acknowledges members from both parties as good and bad, cenk just bashes republicans and worships democrats, using whatever numbers he can. the housing crisis built up from 1938 with the creation of fannie mae until 2008, again having nothing to do with the bush tax cuts. correlation does not imply causation.

  • this idiot doesn't understand what supply side economics is and he demonstrates that by saying that supply siders always argue that all that matters is cutting taxes. he has the most narrow analysis on the planet, only looking at tax rates and recessions. we had over 20 recessions during the 20th century, and plenty of them happened when tax rates were through the roof. he just chooses to pick out the depression which wasn't caused by tax rates or speculation at all. the unemployment

  • Minimal regulations brought us:

Poisonous chemicals in milk to make it look creamier.

Ammonia in McChicken nuggets to make it look like chicken breast

Granting mortgages to people with no proof of income

  • @neverfearchrisishere

Pretty sure CRA was a banking regulation that forced private banks to loan to poor people....

    better check your history

  • they should just lay out the charts plain & simple we'd say what's right.. These discussions are misleading because they involve so many specificities which furthermore never ran to their full extent throughout short term political history and you don't get a good view of what they finally resulted in. The global income chart (think it's in a U.N report somewhere) shows it all: the 1 to 2% richest ppl in the world saw their profits skyrocket in the last 30 years while the rest saw it plunge

  • @Vindician: That was Art Laffer you moron!. He's the father of supply side economics your side LOVES. See the "Laffer curve".

  • Haha...unemployment benefits has a good multiplier for the economy...blithering idiot.

There was spectacular growth under Clinton...right, there wasn't a a boom going on in the 1990s.

And Cenk, how about inviting Peter Schiff or Tom Woods. Do you have the guts to do that, you statist little slave?

  • The guy on your left is an economic dunce. Now he's on MSNBC. Surprise surprise.

  • @AynRandFanJG Keep watching Fox News good sir.

  • @RosechusPickle Oh you silly little thing. You assume I am a Repuke, don't you? You must be one of the millions of lemmings in this country who believes it is about left vs right, or Democrat vs Republican. You can't possibly imagine there being another option, liberty vs coercion, freedom vs slavery. MSNBC is as much of a joke as Fox and vice versa. The puppet masters are laughing their asses off as they layer us with debt while they walk away with cash.

  • @AynRandFanJG Conspirist, sorry.

  • @RosechusPickle Silly little thing. I think for myself. You can do it too.

  • Laffer thinks compliments and "liking people" are valid rebuttals to "facts"

    *sigh*

i guess when you are a supply-side economist, thats all you got.

  • he's a friendly fella - I'll give him that!

  • Both of these idiots should be named "laugher"

  • Compare how any civilized nation has treated their working class citizens with how American citizens are treated. We have no decent health care, we have zero guaranteed vacation time support by laws, we have no safety nets other than a very pathetic 26 week unemployment. No other civil country has treated their people as bad as this. But we give to the wealthy ...TARP, Farm Subsist., tax cuts. How do we get the "upper crust" to car. Proof is everywhere...they smack us down...America stinks

  • I don't like the idea of the health of the economy depending on money taken from the rich at gunpoint. Don't get me wrong, I don't like the government taking money from anyone at gunpoint, but when one particular class carries the rest, it has too much responsibility, and with great responsibility comes great power.

  • @PluralOfEverything it's not taken at gunpoint, most of them want higher taxes, because they see that it's ruining the economy, it's because several dozen of those rich (out of hundreds) are buying all our politicians because our broken system allows them to.

  • @lbss1238062 So if they don't pay it, armed men and women in blue outfits won't come to their house to throw them in a cage? If they resist, they won't be beaten or killed? Taxes are taken at gunpoint just as all laws are enforced with violence.

  • @PluralOfEverything well then by that definition society is taken at gunpoint, i resist going to jail after killing someone, then i've given up the right to murder. Be serious plural what your asking for is anarchy.

  • @lbss1238062 That's one interpretation. If anarchy is the only system that allows people to live together without forcing them to pay protection money to a giant mafia, then I guess that's what I'm advocating.

  • @PluralOfEverything I like you plural you're idealistic, but i'm nearly completely sure that that would end in disaster. Anarchy is not stable eventually a government will arise and chances are it will be an oppressive dictatorship. At least in the current system you have a say in the 'Giant Mafia', theoretically at least unless the republicans get their way. Then only the corporations would have a say

  • @lbss1238062 The disaster you're talking about is happening right now. Maybe as long as humanity exists, there will always be a struggle between those who want freedom, those who fear it, and those who want to take it away. If the only thing that can break the cycle is for everyone to resign themselves to slavery, then I choose to keep it going.

  • @PluralOfEverything No it hasn't, not quite, if it had then we wouldn't be able to have this conversation. and don't get me wrong i'm not saying resign yourself to the system, the fact you can change it is what makes it great.

  • @lbss1238062 What kind of change are you talking about? I hope you don't mean that the system can be changed by any mechanisms within the system. That's a myth.

  • @PluralOfEverything no of course not, it's the fact that the system doesn't oppress us enough to stop us from infecting it. changing it not through it's own mechanism, but ours.

  • @lbss1238062 Ah, good. We're pretty much on the same page then. The system doesn't overtly oppress us most of the time because most people are under the mistaken impression that the law exists for their benefit, so they equate paying taxes with not raping people. If it's the law, people think it's some kind of divine edict handed down by the founding fathers. Religion doesn't help, teaching adults to recognize, respect, and obey outside authorities, something they should have outgrown.

  • Laffer's stats are a little off. Kennedy wasn't able to lower taxes, Johnson did it with a new Congress, but the tax brackets under Nixon, Ford, and Carter were close to the same under Johnson, also the tax break Reagan gave still left the top bracket at 50%. When Clinton raised it after it went down for the last year Reagan was in office and GHW Bush's term when the economy was in the toilet again.

  • I think it's a bipartisan thing.

This guy must suck at poker. He grins like an idiot when he knows he's lying.

  • Guy sounded too smart to be republican, was he ?

  • @Jarmo187 He is like Milton Friedman and Thomas Sowell, they are all libertarian type people who believe in personal freedom in the economy and personal lives.

  • It's good that they got the only slightly rational person in the GOP was here to debate. Having wackos with their heads up their asses is the bare opposite of productive.

  • @homeloansmd

TYT is Internet based and therefor they have to work differently than cable news.

Unlike cable news, TYT receives money each time you watch one of their videos.

The reason they split the show up into so many clips when uploading it to youtube is to maximize the views they get out of a single person.

This is probably why they post the whole show after they have uploaded all the mini clips of the most important stories.

    ... But I dunno... maybe you're just a troll...

  • @maccollo I dunno, maybe you cant admit that this is one of the only news journalists from a well known network, in this case MSNBC, that has to post mass segments in order to increase awareness.. if Im wrong name another.. if no one is watchin ya how low can you go? mass uploads to youtube is a desperation move, if it was not, other journalists would be doing it.

  • @maccollo

It also facilitates people sharing just the relevant portions on message boards.

  • @homeloansmd Posts are not just links, they are advertisements, the more there are, the more exposure. Starting businesses often have advertising budgets of 30-40%. If media rates drop, you don't decrease your budget, you leave it the same and enjoy the added exposure you receive at the old price weight. You NEVER decrease exposure. Maximizing uploads doesn't make people click, they only do that if they want to.

  • @frankyd2212 Because all minority people are "unqualified morons"...

  • @lockeXlll you're a fucking moron! you can make life fair for people by passing laws! that's total bullshit. are country legislated fairness by taking government out of the picture and letting people persue happiness. its when gov gets involvled when everything goes to shit.

  • @dakevins you think that the government is going to make life fair for everyone. which is insanity. life will never be fair. you can't legislate fairness into the world. you seem like a pretty level headed liberal but you should really do some studying because you've been fed shit for a long time.

  • @frankyd2212 We've been legislating fairness into our society since the beginning of this Nation; a fact which you deny, and then proceed to tell someone else to "do some studying"

    GTFO.

  • @dakevins plus the amount of money people have has nothing to do with the calapse of the economy. not in any recession ever. taxing the richest top percentage has a negative effect though. the more money people make the better the economy gets. government putting there hands in everything is what makes things go to hell. I don't hate liberals but I do hate liberalism and all the bullshit that comes with it.

  • @dakevins hahaha! man you are blind just like the rest of em buddy. econmist have different theories for sure. but no economist would say that its is good to over supplement the poor because it increase economic output. that's because that's total bullshit. that's called artificial inflation of the economy. if everyone had a job that's called real gdp. its hard to think cenk is educated at all because he only seems to repeat whatever is on mediamatters.

  • BYE BYE HOUSE!! HAHHAHAHH! BYE BYE SIXTY SEATS!! HAHAHAHAH!!

    So sorry!! BUUUBYE majority!! HAHAHAH!

  • @mgallant01 Yes now nothing is going to be done.

  • @teromi plus you'd have to be the dumb fuck here. you're fucking stupid enough to believe what a lying ass lawyer says. its pretty sad. plus an economist just burned him on the economy. but if you wanna believe a drop out lawyer over a successful economist on the economy (the thing economist study) its your right. but you are totally a stupid ass for doing so. you probably can't help it though, you're just another uneducated liberal dumbass.

  • @teromi hahahaha!!! oh man! what a dumbass remark. cenk educated at one of the best schools in the country? please that's a load of shit! obviously he didn't do well if he's running an internet show out of his parents basement. if he's a lawyer he didn't make bar. otherwise he would be successful instead of having a show noone watches and showing up on a net work noone watches.

  • @frankyd2212 The point is Cenk doesnt just make all of this up he researches, someeconomists have different theories. And you have to look at the facts, when the top 2% has most of the money they economy crashes, simple as that. Being Liberal has nothing to do with it. Cenk going to a good school or not is very well educated. Maybe if you spend less time hating on liberals you would see that. The young turks does nothing but fight for all of us, the least you could do is not flame the community.

  • @bear393 hahahaha selective hearing? cenks a fucking liberal dumbass who has no education. the other guy is an economist who studies what they are talking about for a living! you're a fucking moron if you think cenks right. check your spelling rite is spelled right.

  • @frankyd2212 Cenk is an attorney DUMBASS! he went to one of the best law schools. You're the uneducated FUCK here!

  • Why does no one seem to notice the facts say the facts? When tax rate significantly oppose the poor/middle class to the rich, an economic crash shortly follows? Lots of tangents by Laffer, but irrelevant to the point. A giant red herring.

  • LISTEN THE TRUTH IS THAT THE RICH DON'T WANT TO PROVIDE JOBS UNTIL THEY GET THERE TAX CUTS AND THATS THE GOD DAMN TRUTH

  • hahaha! cenk is such a dumbass!!!! whole shit it is funny to watch him try to spin his liberal bullshit when a guy who knows what the hell he's talking about throws facts right in his face!

  • @frankyd2212 ur an idiot. listen again. use your brain. dont selectively hear.

standard GOP selective hearing demonstrated by one prime idiot, rite here.

  • That was in 1928, and 2007. Proves nothing!

A professor and the class clown. Jimmy Hoffa lives on MSNBC!

  • What was Cenk trying to explain? Cenk is a partisan asshole who knows nothing about either good manners nor economics.

When you debate someone you should not talk over your guest and steal the last word when your guest cannot respond.

Just steal more money from "the rich" and you can have a good economy. Worked for Stalin, will work for the USA.

Economic crisis are caused by interest rates that are below inflation. This latest is no different.

  • Cenk? Thanks. Was going to say "Dumbass." Cenk is such a rude cunt; just HAD to have the last word even though the guy knows shit.

Professor Laffer was so polite and gracious, very good sport to be matched up with this Jimmy Hoffa type.

  • @ericclaptonismygod31 It's not remotely rude of him to explain something fundamental like that on his own show. How do you figure that to be rude? You're probably not a yard stick of courtesy since you call him a cunt and say he should have his head smashed on a curb. That's deranged.

  • Cent should have his head bashed in a little. How about a curb smile?

  • @ericclaptonismygod31 Cenk, not cent

  • He thinks Bill Clinton was a great president, but he also thinks Reagan was a great president, even though they're diametrically opposed on almost everything. Translation: This guy's an idiot. He doesn't understand cause and effect. He glances at a money chart and says "WHAT A GREAT PRESIDENT" or "WHAT A TERRIBLE PRESIDENT"

    Laughable ignorance.

  • @samOFblorx he s an kenesian economist... a cheerleader and he hasnt paid Peter Schiff yet

  • There was no Kennedy tax cut. Laffer is a joke

  • Moral of the story: Move to Hong Kong.

  • Cenk's sophomoric reasoning is how astrology got started.

  • This is like a high school student arguing with a college professor. Cenk talks like tax rates is the only thing that controls the economy. What a moron! I can't believe so may people actually listen to this desperate propagandist.

  • @rexriley Why who is not a propangadist, with an agenda. Give me a break.

  • Trickle Down tax cuts is and always will be the dumbest idea for economic growth ever.

  • @blkswimmer it was never really an idea. It was always just a scam.

  • Yep, people, things were good under Clinton and he even balanced the budget. Gotta love Repubi....wait, he was a democrat.

  • A chart showing the president in office and debt is kinda pointless. Congress holds the purse strings. It is good for pushing an agenda, but not a very accurate description. In the begining when it was fiercely debated if we even needed a senate or just a congress alone, it was made very clear that congress would be the department of money managment.

  • the whole "multiplier effect" on unemployment is a farce. Paul Ryan said it best, "if the multiplier was correct, then we should be going gangbusters on unemployment."

  • Ah smeck; still a complete fool.

All you leftards sound the same.

I have a big bowl of shit you can eat of after November

  • @poisonapple16 yeah and 2 years later, watch as rep have ZERO members in congress

  • @truepridejb Zero members of congress eh?

I'd take that bet if you had a job

  • @poisonapple16 you are just a corporate slave. It will not be you winning. You think you want reps to win, but you do not.

  • @MWcrazyhorse your a idiot troll

  • @MWcrazyhorse your just trying to get views for your pathetic channel leave my friends alone ..your hopless

  • @EvesUnderground I already told you: USE SPELL CHECK and pay attention to punctuation, you fucked up american idiot.

  • @MWcrazyhorse haha typical troll

  • @MWcrazyhorse This corporate slave was paid much better when the adults where in charge.

I DO want the reps in charge.

Anyone with an IQ above 10 wants the same.

  • @poisonapple16 ye there are actually studies were you can research the average I.Q's of states and look at how they voted. It is called science. 'Do you "believe" in it'?!

  • @MWcrazyhorse Science does not require belief.

The only proof I need of any indication of IQ is who voted for the last president.

It's too bad critical thinking isn't taught in schools anymore.

  • @poisonapple16 well, the research is out there. I won't give you links because you will suspect "liberal bias". With "the last president" you mean Bush, obviously? Yes that does give an indication agreed, but hardly scientific.

  • @MWcrazyhorse Um no. Discussing actually facts here would be pointless.

The only commentator dumber than ole smeck is ed shultz.

  • The timing of the numbers on the chart at 2:08 is pretty funny. Reagan and Bush had to deal a lot with the "great society" spending which they didn't have control over. Also, they had to make some painful economic decisions at the government level to combat inflation and the jab market. That number after Clinton was taken when the economy was at the height of a bubble that popped about 6 months later. And after Bush that number was taken in a recession.

  • Cenk... US already spends as much as Europe (in percentage) on healthcare and education and no one gets (almost) nothing in exchange!!! How bigger should our taxes be to have the same services? You have to admit that is something wrong with our Government!

  • @MilkDrinkerIntl WRONG-the taxes you spend go for WAR, not for healthcare and education.

  • Equating recessions/depressions to tax cuts is just ridiculous. The Great Depression and housing crash were directly associated with the FED's monetary policy. And he completely ignores the counter examples such as the recession of 1920 . In its initial stages it was worse than 1929 but the government's only actions were to cut taxes and spending and it was over so fast you've never even heard of it.

  • Obama is trash! I never thought that I would want to back my bags and move to another country. I am black and hate the fact that this is the only guy we could get to represent our race. Damn, leave it to the black man to drop the ball. PS...Obama, where did you purchase those teeth? The candy store?

  • Nov 2010 = BYE BYE BYE BYE DEMS!! HAHAHH! HUGE LOSSES ON THE WAY!!

  • Can someone please tell Cenk to enroll into an Econ 101 class? His financial conspiracy theories on tax cuts leading to depression and recession is something I would expect from Glenn Beck.

  • @bonfirejovi I keep waiting for someone to explain to him how taxes are not conducive to achieving pareto optimality and how taxes create dead weight loss to society.

  • Now this is how talk show debates are suppose to go. They were both very respectful of each other, laid out their points, agreed to disagree without resorting to name calling. You can tell the guest was pleased and felt that he had made his points and Cenk led the discussion but didn't really talk over him, giving me the listener time to absorb all the facts. I love ya Cenk. So proud of ya!

  • @regicide: Sure, but Rabbi said the president can't veto the budget. That's misleading because of course the president can't veto it - he submits it to congress. Rabbi intended to give the impression that the president can't veto the appropriations bill - which he can. The whole premise of Rabbi's post was that the budget deficits were completely out of the president's control but instead entirely to blame on congress. That's an intentional lie.

  • Comment removed

  • @Rabbi: Typical. So typical. And so very weak. Your misleading statement wipes out your credibility to NIL; the president submits the budget to congress and congress sends an appropriations bill to the president. The president CAN veto appropriations bills which are what authorizes the spending. Why do conservatives ALWAYS have to lie in order to make their point seem believable. You have to wonder.

  • @kbrizendine

that's not true. a president has to negotiate with the congress in order to pass the budget bill. both the president and the congress are responsible for the deficit. it's a bi-partisan effort.

  • @kbrizendine Fine - so let's assume this statement is correct. That makes our current president the worst at spending, for the budget quadrupled under his leadership.

Besides - just because the president says to spend does NOT mean that congress has to listen.

BTW - just love the typical liberal name-calling when they cannot base arguments on facts and data. Can you say "Alinskyite"?

  • @RackedRabbi you do realize it WAS numnuts bush that royally fucked everything up right>?

  • EVERYONE is ignoring the following fact - who was the controlling party in congress when Reagan was in office? Who was in control the last two years of GWB?

Yes, you guessed it - the Dems!

BTW - the President CANNOT veto a budget. What was spent was sent to the President by Congress.

We need to start holding those who are DIRECTLY responsible for skyrocketing government spending - CONGRESS!!

  • @RackedRabbi Nothing Congress does even matters if the President is vetoing their bills.

  • i think this was pretty even sided. They both made good points. i wish more interviews were conducted this way.

  • Cenk is just as bad as Glenn Beck. Both of them are fucking morons.

  • Cenk got destroyed. It's time to re-enroll in college, son.

  • Cenk, you looked like a idiot.

  • Glenn beck and truth can't exist in the same sentance. he's too ridiculous

  • gee, you thing Youtube and Google are in bed with the current administration? top 8 videos are the same crap with Cen k and tyt with their stupid degradation of americans to make George Soros look good. Beck still makes 100 times more than all of you and he does it by telling the truth instead of just kissing Obama's ass like all of the "Media". we know. we know... you will soon all be gone.

  • @tampabayproductions let me get something strait making more money makes you no better than another person. also beck dosent say the truth he states conspiracy if you think that he is telling the truth then your retarted.

  • @inlines8master "your opinion is...", "you're ignorant because..." See how I did that? "your" is possessive. "You're" is a contraction of "You" and "are". It's pretty ironic when you demonstrate your own lack of intelligence as you criticize someone else's. See how I did that? That's how you PWN someone. Keep trying though.

  • @ollietwistable you're right but its still stands that you are an idiot glenn beck has no credentials hes a dj who gets payed to spew crap he never went to college and studied politics hes just some guy on tv

  • @inlines8master I know who Glenn Beck is and I never said I supported him. It's pretty foolish (once again) to make wild assumptions. Now... with your supreme intelligence and since you insist everyone else is an idiot, please, by all means say something that doesn't make you look like someone who has a very limited understanding of the world.

  • @ollietwistable i thought you were tampabayproductions and dont get at me i made valid points

  • You are so stupid. If you do not have a left and a right, you can have no secret cabal ruling over even the elected officials. How they keep the right increasing and the left decreasing is to justify the tops wars and infrastructure spending. There is no difference between the two "parties"... There is only a difference because you have fallen for their division of the two groups. What has Obama and Bush done that was any different from each other? NOTHING you blind surf. WAKE UP AMERICA

  • When it comes to our national debt, the problem is both Republicans and Democrats, because they are all bought out by special interest and corporate welfare and imperialist nation building, and no one takes into consideration our fraudulent fractional reserve system which has devalued our dollar and helped to ruin the economy.

  • Bill didn;t need republican bvotes to pass the 218 is all they needed

  • Art Laffer is clearly not credible from his performance with Peter Schiff (youtube Peter Schiff was Right). Cenk is also an idiot. Trying to say that tax cuts make or break an economy? What an idiot. There are a million factors that go into it.

Also, how about throwing Obama into those charts?

  • two idiots. nuff said.

  • I'm just going to come out and say it

I'm pretty sure i lost them about halfway through this. Which i consider a good thing. Real experts talking and debating is what we need - not these other "experts" dumbing down the conversation to just ripping on each other to see if somebody can take the other person down.

  • @emorypaine oh yes, you are right. don't think. don't use your head. don't try to understand because you won't and shouldn't. you don't have the right to think. you are a dumb human being. the others will do the thinking for you and everything will be fine.

JESUS CHRIST, wake up and thinK for yourself!

  • @ronpaulkid

hey, I'm not saying i know nothing about economics. I'm just saying that, as a guy who has his own job and other things on his mind, I can't hold a candle to people who make it their living to know and debate about these things

  • Well, Obama failed...the negros failed first time at bat! What a laugh! We will never give them another shot. They can govren their own countries in Africa.

  • I love that they both actually know what they are talking about. At last, an informed debate on mainstream media!!

  • SEARCH "no plane theory"

  • Since Congress actually writes the budget bills for the President to sign, line up the years with the worst deficits with which parties controlled the Congress.

  • I want a response here from the Left or right that is comfortable with Obama and his Green Policies and moratorium on drilling when he and Soros have invested in Brazilian Oil company that is drilling in even deeper waters. You guys bitched forever about Bush and Haliburton so now Let's get the real shit that matters out front NOW! you can start replying NOW...

  • with over 400 billion left unspent of Obama's emergency stimulus funds after the monkeys on cocaine study why is pelosi asking for an additional 26 billion to be printed for teachers? Can't they use some of their Emergency Slush fund for that? Progressive Americans are the most stupid Duped people on earth.

  • Hey Stenk, this is the big story on Youtube politics when 10% of every American is out of a job and Iran is on the verge of having a Nuclear weapon? Please move me to another planet because all of you assholes deserve to die.

  • @tampabayproductions This is how stupid you conservative Americans are; You are actually worried about us having nukes that we couldn't possibly use against your soil by our amazingly incompetent government that has never achieved anything that they've planned, while progressive Marxist dressed as Neo-Keynesians are taking over your country and in many respects have already taken over, if I was an American I would only be worry about the latter. and for the record 17% are out of job not 10%

  • damn. i couldn't follow what they were talking about.

  • @kokofan50 lol, cenk only showed that he has no clue about the subject.

  • Palin 2012.......................NOT

  • It's stupid to say tax increases led to prosperity in the middle of the century and beyond. The economy just got out of a war and a depression, to say nothing of the accumulation of capital and technological advances made in those years. Stealing people's money and spending it on unproductive political projects does not lead to prosperity. If that was true the USSR would still be a roaring a economy.

  • Cenk must have forgot that there are other taxes besides the income tax.

  • lol Cenk said "shart" @ 2:02

  • You can't have it both ways. Bush cut taxes for the richest 2% BUT the dem's are only going to reinstate the the tax cuts for that 2%. The other 98% get's to keep there tax cuts. Let's fix the economy buy all of us quiting our job's. The government will pump more money into unemployment and that wil help stimulate the economy......Wait, who will be left to tax.....Oh who care's....Vote Dem and all your worries will be gone...Hope and change and all that great stuff.

  • @yrnmyhrt37

No, vote GOP and Sarah Palin and all of our worries will be gone. The DEMS FUCKED up our economy when they overthrew Congress. We NEED President Palin and the ALL WOMAN GOP government to completely save our economy.

  • @ecwaufisxtreme Vote GOP and all of your worries will be gone? How much crack do you smoke a day buddy?

  • What i don't understand is why all of you are defending the richest 2% of this country. This means it doesn't affect 98% of us yet it greatly benefits our economy as history, facts and evidence has shown. If taxes were 90% and i make 1 billion dollars, I make 100 million instead and schools are funded, fire, police, roads are made. how much goddamn money does a person need?

  • @obadhai03

Everybody deserves to keep ALL of their hard earned money. The current govt is the BIGGEST CROOK and THIEF in this world and we need President Palin to put a STOP to it!

  • @ecwaufisxtreme oh that's realistic. lets have NO taxes. i would venture that you have not a clue how that silly hypothetical dream world would turn out if applied to the real world. ohh yes, unregulated capitalism. *cough* great depression *cough*. dumb ass

  • @obadhai03 Some people defend them because they understand taxing them more is going to have consequences for the economy but my take is that you Americans are in debt up to your eyeballs so maybe it's not such a bad idea to raise their taxes to pay up some of the debt. It's not like your economy is going to recover anytime soon so taxing them will not stall the recovery since there really is no recovery in states.

  • If you factor in inflation the deficits across the board are not astounding

  • Cenk is good at debates but pretty shit at reading the prompter.

  • CENK, CENK, CENK, CENK... love from Turks!

  • I don't see how anyone can get all worked up over this. Both men came out of this discussion looking intelligent and informed.

  • Cenk is a new word for Douche

  • As usual in a partisan debate, both sides are full of misinformation to protect the fraudsters. I can prove it to you with one simple question, why does our govt borrow money from central banks at interest when it is capible of creating its' own interest free, and therefore debt free, money? There is no legitamate reason for our govt. to become indebted to a private corporation, such as a bank, for having created our currency from thin air. It is FRAUD, you partisans are idiots!

  • @dlucas90- Simple, it's called fear of assass
