The Terran race has the upper-hand. Protoss and Zerg struggle to counter even the most common Terran builds of MMM, and MMS, if ever a race was inbalanced I'd say from watching the ESL tourneys as well as Huskys vids that Terran are a bit op. Their basic builds counter almost every unit composition that Zerg/Protoss can throw. I'd say if they took off stimpack, that Terran would be very very equal throughout. Ofcourse thats just speculation. Cant argue with the balance "Blizzard" knows all :)

@HDCybersun I absolutely agree with you in protoss cases especially. Mules and Marauders and messed up imho. In the first game of this series, Demuslim had 1/2 the worker count, used Mules and won. Marauder slow is a cheap upgrade, and an INSANE upgrade against gateway units, considering terran can already kite the hell out of zealots, and zealot charge costs 200/200 AND is from a later tech structure that doesn't really fit in to early and early-mid game.

But at least Zerg has banelings.... :s

@brainstem46 MMM is one of the most effective armies possible. If you learn to micro well with it , you can be devastating. I saw a game the other day Catz vs Mihai , Mihai went straight up marines , vikings and a few tanks. He gave catz a run for his money. Marines are easily one of the most , if not the most , cost-effective unit in the game. I recommend watching MarineKingPrime games. He is called Marineking for a reason :P

I play as Terran almost all the time, and I've had my MMM's raped by chargelots, psi storms, collosi and force fields. But I gotta admit, I find collosi easy to counter simply becauss Vikings are dirt cheap, they have the range in air and can be produced 2 at a time per stargate.

Blizzard should do something to nerf MMM balls. I'm getting sick of them myself.

Running away with 4 or 5 zealots in the first battle vs. many marauders with concussive shells, only to turn around 3 seconds later was also a pretty bad decision. Zealots will never run away from MM-Units. Never ever - with Stim and Concussive, the chance is even smaller. Just leave them there and run away with the rest imho.

If terran doesn't do mm, he will lose almost every single time. Thors and tanks can't be used as the primary army because of immortals and you can't make and army of only air units. People need to wake up and realize that terrans pretty much has to go bio vs protoss.

Besides, i don't see demuslim just 1a through the protoss. He microes around a lot and kites the protoss. If he didn't do that he would not stand a chance.

Just understand that terran has to relie on tier 1 units against protoss.

I feel like LiquidTyler consistently went the wrong tech path -- I really would have liked to see him go to High Templar tech. Cannons + Feedback to protect against Medivac drops, Psionic Storm against bioballs/Vikings, I think Tyler would have been in much better shape. At the very least, he could have gone for Charge, if he was going to use as many Zealots as he did; legless Zealots (amputee Zealots?) were just useless against the Marauders w/slow.

deMuslim's lack of creativity aside, Tyler had every chance to win this, it's his fault for losing. He'd get the Robotics Bay far too late every game, and Immortals/Collossi are a lot better against Marine/Marauder balls than bloody Stargate units are. He never got Zealot Charge, he never got High Templar, and he never put down any good force fields. He pretty much neglected to use every single strategy good at countering mass Barracks units.

Marine/Marauder counters alot more stuff than other tier 1 units (Roach/Zergling? Zealot/Stalker?), but Tyler needed much better forcefield usage and high templar here. All zerg have against MMM is baneling/muta, which with proper marine micro and a few tanks is cake. At equivalent skill levels, the only slight imbalance in my opinion would be late-game TvZ, because ultras get owned so hard by marauders and broodlords get owned so hard by reactored vikings.
