O'God was just plain insane. Redeemer had a beautiful Southern melodic chaos to it, and the Anti-Mother showed the band experiment more with traditional song structures.
They have been able to put out 4 entirely unique, successful albums.

Pretty right on breakdown dude, now what about Meridional?
@hungrybatman Why are you worrying about how the crowd reacted to the song IF they are "giving praise to God". BTW the Devil loves this group for sure, hes a HUGE FAN.
i like this version better than the extra bonus version that came with the BestBuy copy, this ending has so much more feeling than the other one. in my personal opinion.
This isn't on the new album because they said it didn't fit, which is pretty true. They also said they were sick of playing it live. In that case, I wonder how they feel about Memphis???
@drfeelgood314 It's true that it won't be on the official retain version of the album, but if you look on Norma's myspace, you can see all the bonus tracks they are offering if you buy them from different places. "Kill More Presidents" is offered as a bonus track if you buy the album from Best Buy or Napster. This info is also on the wiki page of the album
i disagree, ive listened to the album a ton of times and i think it wouldve fit just fine. this song is too good not to have to listen to. i actually get annoyed when i put it on and i cant listen to this one.
@drfeelgood314 hey I know you're comment is 7 months old but I seen Norma Jean in December with Four Year strong, LA Dispute and Alexisonfire...and Norma Jean fucking blew the show away and actually end up playing memphis will be laid to waste, so they will still play old classics live which is awesome, and I got a Norma Jean shirt signed by them after their set
@Rawk4Life If I remember right, this was filmed by their fans- they had a contest and asked everyone to film them play it at concerts- then they compiled the shots into this video. Correct me if I'm wrong.
@ArsonIScool Metalcore? really? oh cool, is that like buttsexcore? or post-fagcore? That's a splitoff of I-Have-Herpes-Core right?
@0Kinshi0 it was mathcore, back when J Scogin & D Davison were actually making music. Don't get me wrong I am down with change, Oh God & Redeemer were still good, but in releasing Anti Mother and Meridonial NJ lost their unique voice.
@smyd23 yes metalcore, an ur a dumbass for goin on this vid an callin it emo shit, thats like goin to some vid of a death metal band sayin its like lady gaga, are u relly that stupid or u just want attention?
@ArsonIScool I don't see how I'm stupid when you're the one using made up genres that record labels make up to sell their shitty music
and seriously "u" and "relly" aren't words, if you're going to take the time to write a paragraph defending your "metalcore" boycrushes, please learn how to use the english language. oh well, have a nice life dude. I'm done with this.
@smyd23 how is it a made up genre? metalcore is a subgenre of heavy metal, an if u think this music is shitty y waste ur own time to go bribe about it? an look at u tryin to corretc me, wow ur cool, u should teach special ed english :) i think u would do great ;) an now ur gana pussy out of the argument, nice balls man
@Nocakescott just look on the wiki page for the album, its all there, along with the reason its not in there and the official track listing of the new album
Just because the song has more structure to it does not mean that they arnt adding in their ''chaotic'' factors to it, once you've done anything more then once what is left to do its experimental and it sounds amazing and if you want to know about their whole ''going back to their roots'' it's more of a cross of botch and converge or you can just pick up a guitar and try to write what they write. Other then that just listen to the music, and Corys vocals are amazing,
With that being said, I am still optimistic about this record, i just wish that he and fear is the driving force would put out an album, or maybe collaborate with josh scogin and make some sweet jams. Im pretty stoked, im going to see norma and etid this friday in little rock. Hopefully i get to hear more of what is to come. Fingers crossed.
Honestly, their new songs sound nothing like i was hoping. Cory kept telling myself and other friends that they were going back to their roots (o god, redeemer) But to me, it sounds nothing like those 2 albums. It is not as chaotic, and i understand that they lost their drummer to write those parts but still.. He told us that it was supposed to be like theyre earlier albums. He lives in the same town as I do, VB in Arkansas. Theyre sounding more and more like 30 secs to mars... not good.
well its hard to stay the same from BTM when they GOT A NEW LEAD SINGER so of course they sound diffrent thean their first album O'god and on is what Normajean acutully became only 2 members of the band are from the original Norma jean
Guys, calm down. Norma Jean is by far my favorite band, and yes their sound has changed. BTMKTC was one of the most influential records of all time, so if you are looking for them to replicate that again and again...it just doesn't work. O'God was just plain insane. Redeemer had a beautiful Southern melodic chaos to it, and the Anti-Mother showed the band experiment more with traditional song structures.
They have been able to put out 4 entirely unique, successful albums.
@TheSecondTimothy Kudos man, I just dont think that people appreciate any bands' right to evolve their music. So it sounds a little bit different than the last album; so what. Now we have something new to listen to that is going to take us all through new emotional turns and loops. I'm very much liking what I'm hearing so far.
@TheSecondTimothy Gotta agree with you there. I stopped listening to them after O' God just because I got tired of hardcore/metalcore altogether, but I still love BTMKTC. Its the only album I still listen to from my 16-18 year old music phase.
@TheSecondTimothy Very well said man. They are a band who has evolved beyond anything like I've ever heard. Not to stray from who they are. Every fan likes multiple albums. To make an album that fans like from when they first started and ended, just adds to their glory. Truly a unique band.
I like Norma Jean, don't get me wrong. But to say that BTMKTC is "one of the most influential albums of all time" shows you know little about hardcore. Look up a band called Botch. BTMKTC is pretty much like " We are the romans" 2.0....
I like Norma Jean's more recent stuff because they are trying to move away from their Botch tribute band phase.
When a band's song-writting ability matures, naturally their song will adapt with it. I was not a huge fan of "The Anti-Mother" but in no way did Norma Jean sell out. How about we all let the album drop before we make such ridiculous statements...
This song is damn good! LOL @ people saying they sold out. How can they be selling out when this isn't even weak enough to be played on the radio? I don't understand. They're playing music that THEY actually want to play mofo's. Supposedly this record is going to be heavy as O' God.
I'm not a huge fan of this band but it's not the point. The point is all of you people complaining don't seem to realize that bands change their sound all the time. It happens as they get older and develop more musical understanding etc. So saying they are sellout or they sound like something else? seriously theres nothing wrong with that. Get over it. It happens.
Loveee the new video! I was at the Chameleon Club for their show this past december and I sent in my video of this song to Norma Jean! I also met them after the show! :]
