  • I thought up a way to make a heat detector in science using one nxt kit. It dosent detect esact temp but hot and cold, put some black thermochromic paint on a peice of plastc and put the plastic in fron of the light sensor, if the plastic gets hot it the black will disapear and the light sensor will see that. ^_^ if it is cold the black will appaer again.

  • Indeed a very smart idea!! drakomytaka599

  • ^_^ being bored helped!

  • @drakomytaka599 That's a great idea, I wonder I accurate it would be?

  • With NXT-G 2.0

  • You are AWSOME! Your race is awsome! THe Avoider/james bond verision is AWSOME! But this is more AWSOME!!!!

  • Thank you okke1337!!! NeXTSTORM

  • where do you get that lego brick that rolls like a tank tread.

  • These are standard LEGO bricks (2x8) mounted on Technic treads with the use of common Technic pins. NeXTSTORM

  • Cool!

  • Thank you guitarkid2009!!! NeXTSTORM

  • try construction design instead of making it electronic like the sphinx just plain and simple

  • Genius!

  • How did you get the new sensor? And where can I get 1.26 firmware?

  • The new firmware is included in the LEGO MINDSTORMS Education NXT Software v2 (NXT-G 2.0). You can order both the sensor and the software from several online stores.

    NeXTSTORM

  • Haha! That is extremely impressive! I am part of the planet TR-57 crew so I can understand the time and passion it takes, very well done!

  • Thanks! I really enjoy building! I also enjoy more the process of motorizing my LEGO bricks (NXTfication). Then since everything is motorized, the rest is easy (filming and editing takes less than a day).

I admit that what you do (stop motion) needs even more passion and time (...I'll never be able to make something like this)!

  • maybe your next job is someone who invented new high tech mechanicals

  • LOL WTF !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • wooooaahhh i want 1!!!!!

  • great model and really well made video

  • LOL love the hot water part!! and the range is from -4 to 248 degrees farenheit??!!??!?!?!?!?! THATS CRAZY!

  • that is sweet just like all of your videos

  • wow that amazing!

  • I also want to program in NXT-G.

Where can i get it and how?

  • Another nice project. Well done. Nice video also.

So, do you have connections to get the new sensor before general release to the public?

How does NXT-G 2.0 compare to 1.1? (much improvement other than datalogging)

  • So far I didnt have much time to experiment with NXT-G2.0.

Thank you ronaldmcrae for your kind words.

First impression from NXT-G 2.0 is quite positive. Data logging seems very promising since it is a complete new module with many tools (analysis, graph, prediction etc.).

  • There are some new blocks, such as Bluetooth (on/off Bluetooth & initiate/terminate connection), Constant (define logic, txt and number constants), Temperature, Start and Stop Data Logging. Some new options, such as the Create Pack and Go (share My Blocks, Sound Block and Display Block, with other users), Download to Multiple NXTs (available only in the educational version). Firmware has been also updated to incorporate temp and data logging.

  • Of course, I have encounter some minor bugs (inability to save some instances and unreasonable values from temp sensor) which I believe will be solved soon if not yet.

  • 很棒的作品!温度计!你拿到了温度感应配件?

  • 谢谢! 编程是相当坚硬的(温度配件)。 但是它优良运作。

    NeXTSTORM

  • you speak chinese!?!?!?!?!!?!?!

i can too but i can't make the characters on the computer

  • wow!

    nice sound effects!

  • i would like to see the sensor in detail though...

  • hutadut, thanks for your comments. The sensor looks like the rest NXT sensors (touch, light etc.) but has two major differences: the very long tip (visible at the front of my construction) and the fixed cable at the back (see 1:20 for sensor body and cabling). You'll also find more details on the characteristics of this sensor at the "info" part of this video.
