  • Do you mean PvR?

  • Do u need a laptop? can u have a pc in another room and still have it working?

  • When i use the splitter i get no display on AverMedia? How do i solve this issue?

  • Comment removed

  • so if i dont have this software and I use a splitter can I still record ?

  • I dont have pcie x1 can it work for regular x16?

  • @iCypherZ dude no if that was the case then they wouldnt fucking make pcie the only ones that are the pcie slots are compatible...quit asking about it bro ur just gonna get told wrong...

  • @runedarkwarrior You dumbass its called pcie 2.0 x16 and yo get off my recent activity son.

  • @iCypherZ then y did u call it pcie1 and dumbass if u knew anything pcie1 exist and can be used with 2.0...ass

  • @runedarkwarrior i have fucking 2.0 and told u that multiple times and you was like no aj it aint gone work.i was never talking about regular pci slots.u wasnt listening

  • @iCypherZ look what the fuck u wrote down there and buddy ive been in your fucking computer before dick head i know what slots u have..get on skype lemme tell u somethin

  • @runedarkwarrior if u know i had the slot the whole time then would u say it wouldnt work.

  • can you use component in and hdmi out?

  • does this work with laptops?

  • And on PS3?

  • Does this work with Mac as well?

  • can it be used for console games?

  • I use this in PS3, I use FRAPS for the capturing of the screen and there is no lag whatsoever on audio or video. When you use FRAPS you also get past any HDCP protection that comes up when you use HDMI also.

  • does it work on ps3?

  • @WeGameHD ya

  • Hey how'd you update the Totalmedia extreme? my friend bought the hd dvr and has a 2009 version of it on the disc and needs to upade!

  • HUH, SO NO OTHER WIRES ARE REQUIRED, EXCEPT THE POWER CABLE AND USB? JUST TWO HDMI CABLES? PLEASE REPLY ASAP!

  • PCI E X1,X4 AND X16?

  • Your really good

  • what is the file size of a 20min game play

  • @B1ueStryk3r Depends on the quality you want. With my settings its about 5 GB for 20 minutes.

  • @B1ueStryk3r with my settings its about a gig

  • whats teh other hdmi for on the card?

  • ey bro dimentions of capture card pleasee

  • I cannot for the life of me figure out how to record audio. I'm recording with a 360. I've already got the splitter. Video is recording great, just no audio. Any ideas??

  • @rawrmazering This is usually an issue with the splitter. Well actually it's the xbox having an issue with splitter. There's generally two ways around this. 1: turn on your xbox with only one of the HDMI cables connected to the spliiter. After it's turned on plug the second cable in. 2: go to console settings, and under display turn off display discovery. Either of these should fix this issue.

  • @NMunro4 You sir are my hero I would have never figured that out :D thanks so much!!

  • when you want to capture on your desktop, instead of having it on hdmi. do u want it on composite? i am having trouble capturing my desktop/what im doing on it for streaming.

  • can this card record audio along with the video through hdmi?

  • can you play on the screen of your monitor in the small box, or do you reccomen playing on a tv

  • yo when i try to record i cant see nothing in my software and can only see in my tv so i cant record it, do u know what might be the problem???

  • can i play in 1080i?

  • @xTriiicKiProductions You could but your recordings will look blurry, and 1080i is actually lower quality than 720p.

  • @NMunro4 I've head that with a regular hdmi splitter the signal gets delayed therefore causing laggy movements/gameplay (but recording signal looks fine). Do you have this problem? Really don't want to drop the cash for a powered hdmi splitter right now

  • @NMunro4 No it isn't. 1080i is way better than 720p

  • @Primeee3 If you record with 1080i, its not as good as 720p

  • hey please respond quick i want a capture card but what other stuff do i need to buy? and how much?

  • @XxDarkHaloAssassinxX The card, 2 HDMI cables, a game console, an HDMI splitter, a TV with an HDMI input, a motherboard with an open PCI-e port.

  • @NMunro4 and how much does it cost?

  • @NMunro4 well all of it combined except the tv and game console

  • hey, So i need to buy the splitter, the capture card itself, and what else? .. Oh and will it work with a PC-monitor, or do i need a tv?

  • @Imoviefilm You'll also need 2 HDMI cables (don't pay more than $10 each, look online or at smaller computer stores). It will work with a monitor, I use a monitor. You just need to have an HDMI input, or alternatively you could buy a DVI to HDMI converter, and use the sound from your computer.

  • @NMunro4 Thank you! You are very helpful! And do you know if it works with a Mac Pro with Bootcamp (so, a Apple-computer with Microsoft software installed?) I really hope so :D

  • I heard somewhere that with a splitter the signal quality is halfed, is this true?

  • @Luijeee It probably is. But what you have to consider is that the quality isn't halfed, the transmission speed is. So instead of 5-10 Gb/s (5 for older HDMI cables and 10 for newer ones), you get 2.5-5 Gb/s. An uncompressed video signal in HD is less than 1 Gb/s so it shouldn't make any difference.

  • @NMunro4 thanks for the quick reply. Also are there any requirements for like the space in my pc case? I don't want to it to clash and overheat with my 5770 which i've heard happens to ppl

  • @Luijeee It's pretty small, so as long as you have an open PCIe port it should work.

  • Please Answer.i need your help.can i record my gameplay without HDMI Splitter?

  • @Jigsaaw4QS Watch the video. That is clearly explained.

  • @NMunro4 yeah i watched it.but i cant understand : ( can you tell me if i can record my gaameplay with HDMI and AV Cable?

  • @Jigsaaw4QS You can record gameplay without an HDMI splitter, but you can't play and record at the same time, because there is around 500ms of lag.

  • @NMunro4 ok thanks : )

  • DUDE please answer this, i thought the card had a HDMI input, where you plug the xbox into and ALSO the HDMI output, so you can plug it back into your tv ? ??

  • @iiJaBeRz Nope. One digital input (HDMI) and one analog input (this is 480p for component, s-video, etc, and also looks like an HDMI).

  • @NMunro4 ahhryt ok. Also, can you plug in the TV signal thingy and use your PC monitor as a TV ?

  • @iiJaBeRz Yeah it'll work for TV and movies, but you'll get lag with games. If you want to play and record games, you need an HDMI splitter.

  • @NMunro4 ok cheers mate

  • @NMunro4 Hey, I have recently bought the C027. But in Aver Media Center the xbox gameplay has a green tint and hasn't got the colour red. I am australian so it may have something to do with pal. Please help. :)

  • Ok several questions 1st The site you put in the description does it ship to the U.S (the address of the site threw me off lol) and 2nd do you have to put it in your computer and what if you have a laptop?

  • i did the same thing you did and it only comes out as an audio file no video?

  • when i put it in mpeg-2 the vide is in like fast forward and audio is normal i use h.264 with no problem just been looking for the way to import it to sony vegas so theres no lag between the audio and video so this helped alot thanks!!!!

  • mine wont let me over 15,000 for video quality

  • I have a ps3 and the same setup but wen i get the game on my pc then plug it the hdmi from my tv in to the splitter it gos black): what do i do? plz help

  • Can i use a laptop with this plz respond back

  • @EchoUnitedHD Nah dude u shouldve told me that You cannot use this with a laptop because the card slides in the back of the computer.

To me you should stick with the HD PVR.

  • @TraXicSnipes There's a USB version of this that will work with a laptop, but costs almost twice the price.

  • @EchoUnitedHD no you cannot use a laptop, you need a pci-e slot

  • Warning any hdmi software does not work with ps3

  • @puran2397 really? :(

  • dude that isnt a mac!

  • @bauhausproductionz You're right! I was going to Hackintosh it, but I never got around to it.

  • "special metal peace" = Low profile bracket(=

  • Does it have high requirements cuz my Pc is terrible

  • @lmFuzed The card itself doesn't require a lot of resources, but editing HD video requires a lot of RAM and a powerful CPU.

  • @AGMCODSniper no laptops dont have pci e or pci unless installed and that means whole nw motherboard.

  • if i get splitters will i have to buy two hdmi cables!!!!????

  • @calltoduty5 Yes buy them online they're $10 each.

  • @NMunro4 $10 ONLY!!! I bought mine for $50??? WTF!!

  • @calltoduty5 Return it, go to ebay and buy one. The only difference is that they're a little less durable, but you could 5 before you actually lose out. Mine have never broken, like honesty how do you break a cable? Maybe if you yank it out of your TV 10 times a day. Cheap HDMI cables work fine.

  • @NMunro4 i dont trust ebay

  • @calltoduty5 HDMI 1.3 for $5 with free shipping and HDMI 1.4 for $10 with shipping. Go check ebay.

  • its important have 2 cabes of hdmi?

  • its better 720p because i want buy for my ps3 and the ps3 have 1080i or p so what is better?

  • @FLAMENGUISTA51

You can set your PS3 to output 720p as well... Which is the best option as you can't record in 1080p... Theres no difference whatsoever, as most 1080p/i games are upscaled and not native.

Just a heads up, you need a powered HDMI splitter if your recording your PS3... 30 bucks on ebay...

  • Mate, does this Capture Card have a low profile bracket?

  • @NMunro4 Cool! Thank you! :)

  • is it possible for me to use this device on my laptop?

  • @respect1515able No it won't.

  • @NMunro4 do you know of any usb friendly capture cards, besides dazzle or easycap?

  • @respect1515able Black magic has one but it's close to $200 and requires USB 3.0

  • do you know how to livestream with the card? i dont want to screen capture.

  • @GunnarsGameplays Adobe FME won't detect the capture card, but you can use many cam. Justin.tv will detect the card, but unless you get a 3rd party program streaming quality sucks on JTV. I've done a few live streams but unfortunately my internet isn't fast enough.

  • For this do u need a HD TV or Not?

  • @ReziqnShift You could use the other cables, but the recording quality will also be lower.

  • Comment removed

  • @TF2Dude999 If your computer monitor has an HDMI. I use my monitor. Connect my monitor to the xbox through HDMI and connect to my computer through DVI.

  • Can the card fit on laptop?

  • im using sony vegas pro 10 to render.. any tips for rendering? what setting do u use? i renedered one vid using some other kids settings it came down from 1.5gb to 300mb feelsgoodman.jpeg, however, there is a slight sound delay..

  • @kevinis69 I use WMV 1280x720 at 6mbps for video and 48000hz 192kbps for audio. My template video shows my render settings. There's a link to it on the side of my channel. Check that out.

  • @kevinis69 The sound delay is because vegas wasn't designed for mpeg-2. Using any video converter to convert it to an mjpeg first.

  • @NMunro4 video quality went to shit.. it looks pixelated when i renedered mjpeg file.. what do u do? u seem to have great quality videos

  • hey thnx for taking the time to answer all my questions.. just one more lol.. i recorded a full 12 min match it takes about 1.5gb of space feelsbadman.jpg is this normal? seems a little too big.. also if thats normal how much does youtube downgrade it when i upload it? will the size be cut in half?

  • @kevinis69 I would recommend rendering it before upload. It should record 30-40 mbps. I render videos at 6mbps. So you probably want to render it first.

  • what do i do in the avermedia wizard screen? did u leave the HD Input source as default? NTSC_M? thanks.

  • @kevinis69 HD input if you use HDMI. NTSC is for North America.

  • why do u have the black borders in the video?

  • @kevinis69 It's just the preview. It doesn't record with any borders.

  • HELP! please, i get some crazy green bars and lines going through it, cant get it to stop?

  • Need some help anyone when i plug my ps3 or xbox into the HDMI slot on the dvr and load TV i get to see the screen for about 2 seconds then a message saying

fail to play this video your video card or connected monitor may bit support high bandwith digital content protection HDCP or dual screen use or change of resolution

( also tells me to use componant cables... HELP ANYONE)

little bit at the end of what it says was what i remembers but yeh icant even see the screen of ps3 or xbox for 5 sec

  • @fatslimjr ps3 hdmi is locked, use fraps to record fullscreen, or use s-video cables to record

  • what vid card you runnin man?

  • Very nice video thank you, might have made me choose this capture card, the quality actualy looks better than an hd pvr(correct me if I'm wrong) So according to your explanation the xbox doesn't encrypt gameplay with hdcp right? wasn't aware of that. Have you heard of any fixes for the splitter problem when booting the console?

    Thanks.

  • Could you just record with HDMI and play with AV? instead of buying the splitter, that is?

  • @MisterProdigy I don't think both cables will fit in at the same time. The splitter is only $5, its not a big deal. If you order it from the states it'll cost $10, but should ship within a week.

  • @NMunro4

I have both plugged in already. But thanks for the speedy reply! To be honest, however, I don't think I'm going to buy this, looks too hard to install.. I'm not too computer savvy.

    Thanks again! :)

  • Does it work for ps3

  • does this work on a laptop plz anybody ????

  • @colakungen1 no but the Avermedia AVerTV Usb HD Dvr

  • @halo360warrior2 yeah i know but its so expensive :(

  • @colakungen1 :C sorry

  • YOu dont need outports for this do you?

  • Wait, where did you order it from? I'm also from Canada, every website I look at ships to the states, and isn't between 70-80 bucks...

  • @leaf16nut I bought it from Canada Computers. It's on for $65 right now. Link in description.

  • @NMunro4

    Thanks alot...

    Just bought it!

  • @NMunro4 you must have some connections... that hd cap card is a 120 with tax and everything and a very cheap hdmi splitter 2x1 like the one in the video is around $30.. some of the decent ones go up to a $100 CDN

  • @kevinis69 Cap card is $65 + tax, splitter is $5 + tax, HDMI cables are $8 + tax. Dunno what you're talking about o_o

  • Comment removed

  • when i play back the clip it is in like hyper speed almost. least 2x the speed. what do i do

  • So when I try to record my PS3 I keep getting the error saying that the media is protected and can't be recorded.

  • @iMrBlankie PS3 has HDCP so you technically can't record. If you download Fraps or another 3rd party program then you can record.

  • so I play on an HDTV, and on my Dazzle DVC 100 I can't record because it's an HDTV. Can I actually record while on an HDTV?

  • so wait, u can get lag while on the TV if u dont use splitters or something?

  • @NinjeticReflex it will lagg, if you don't split!

  • I JUST LOOKED AT HOW MUCH THAT DVR IS AND I WANT TO KILL MY SELF COZ I GOT AND ELGATO FOR 99 AND THE DVR IS 99 TO

  • @BQS3GAMEING I paid $75 for it new a year ago.

  • @NMunro4 wow im going to buy it now thnx

  • @NMunro4 have you try use it in msn or yahoo i want to use this to broad cast in hd

  • @BQS3GAMEING there is a few diffrent version of this card, they go from 70-99 dollars, the more expensive card got more features, but if you don't need them go for the cheaper card, quality is the same.

  • This is the only video that told me how to fix the bad fps and still using evertv media center. Thank you good sir

  • Does the card has Two HDMI ports? if it does, what it it for?!

  • Whick is better this one or a Hd PvR?

  • @NubeTuber09 Depends if u need HDMI capture card then this one is for u if u got that shity cable then PVR is for u. And HD DVR needs strong PC

  • i see that there are 2 hdmi ports on the card. is one of them in and one of them out? or is it completely necessary to buy a splitter

  • @terminator4880 One is digital in and one is component in that you use with the HDMI dongle adapter thingy. You definitely need an HDMI splitter. You can buy from eBay, it's $5 from China and $10 from the US, the only difference is the time it takes to ship. It takes about 3-4 weeks from China and 1-2 weeks from the US.

  • what are you computer specs?

  • @maTileRRR Asus P7H55-M motherboard, core i5 760, 8gb ddr3 ram, 60 gb ssd, 640gb wd black cavier hdd, nvidia gt 9800.

  • I dnt get any sound :/

  • how d uou chooses whaere to save the file?

  • My computer is across from my xbox and i had a usb running across it for the ghetto capture cards that dont even work but now i have u but hdmi extenders -_-

  • @NMunro4 Ok so I have the splitter and stuff, I get video in my other input source my HDMI 2. But when I got to AverMedia center and I got to HDMI I get the picture but there are green lines and it's like spazzing out all over the place. Can you help me with this?

  • @MidnightDubstep Try switching the input from HDMI to something else then back to HDMI.

  • @MidnightDubstep I had same problem (green lines) then I got to a point where I couldnt get any image at all. So i sent the splitter back thinking it was defective. One person mentioned splitters are mainly used at sports bars to split hdmi signals of two idential tvs (lcd screens etc). Another guy said you may need an hdmi splitter /amplifier to get it to work. I tweaked w/ Aver media settings , PS3 settings etc. nothing. so i bought a component setup instead and trying to get that to work now.

  • @Lonegraywolf75 Does it work when you plug your console directly into the capture card without using the splitter?

  • @NMunro4 yes it works when going directly from console to cap card. I cant exactly recall if there was issue w/ green lines (in that method or not but will try again tonight and give response.

  • @Lonegraywolf75 I have the same problem, Please help! There is no green lines when it is just the console directly into the cap card. but as soon as you plug the other cable in the image goes all fuzzy with green lines and spazzing everywhere. The image on the tv is fine though.

  • @Toppstaa I havent bothered with my capture card in a month ; have been building new pc, i bought a radio shack splitter amplifier everything is hooked up but cant test on my ps3 (dont have xbox) but waiting for psn to come back up, i'll be streaming in 720p instead of 1080p (using component cables.

  • if i use this capture card, does this mean my tv has to be literally next to my computer?

  • @Destruction2k9Gaming yea!! or have a big azzs hdmi!

  • 5:26

  • if i use this can i record my ps3 games on the same hd monitor that im playing the games on? is the hdmi splitter you mentioned to cut down on the lag so you only need one monitor? also, how do you record footage? is there a record button somewhere? i dont get how, if you have one screen dedicated to the game, you can access recording controls? if you could explain it to me id appreciate it thanks

  • Does anyone know if this still works? Please let me know. I would really appreciate it. I've heard rumors saying that it doesnt work anymore because of the new drivers. Please respond ASAP !

  • Does this device allow me to play in HDMI 1080p

  • @xCammeister95x You can play in 1080p, but it only records up to 1080i. If you have your xbox set to 1080p it will only let you record in 30 fps. It works best just to record in 720p.

  • @NMunro4 Okay, i will gladly drop my resolution just aslong as i can play using HDMI? Can i?

    Plus how?

  • Even when i used anyvideoconvertor i still got audio lag...How can i fix this?

  • @itsGriffoo Make sure you use all the same settings I did.
