@mvvette97 You'd be picking up the bottom end of that LS1 all over the street. Every Vette we've built is great because it's LIGHT. Not because of the LS engine. Max horsepower race against the Ford motor isn't happening. Our Project GT (Ford GT) has a STOCK 5.4 ltr that's streetable and has been reliable at 1192 RWHP. Try that with any streetable pump gas LS Anything. Yes, I'm non-biased but seen what I've seen.
@mvvette97 Make almost 1200 HP on an LS whatever block & post the results! Make sure you clean off the oil from your hands after picking up pieces of crank off the street before ruining your keyboard : ) The best thing I LOVE about the Vette's is you don't NEED that much HP to run with a GT because you save pounds through the oval ducted, lightweight engine and overall design of that vehicle! All my Chevy only fellas will admit the HP war goes to Ford on stock production blocks. Just so heavy!

Well this is not true there is a full bolt-on mustang with cams (4.10 gears btw) pushing over 300 hp and tq at the wheels and running very low twelves...video is on here...and with head work or if trick flow ever comes out with their new heads and an intake the car should be into the mid 11 range when it's done. I understand it's easy to doubt an N/A stang but please do some research first.
I beg to differ there are quite a few n/a 2v in the 12's without being force fed gears suspension and weight reduction are the keys to doing it with standard bolt on goodies granted the 2v's do respond very well to boost as friends of mine are into the mid 11's with just a s/c and gears
N/A modular ford v8s suck ass. No amount of bolt-ons will get a non "force-fed" 4.6l stang into the 12's.
We are tuning a "street-legal" 2001 mustang GT at UTI right now. Even with full exhaust, intake, 24lbs injectors, high-flow cats, pulley and dyno-tuning through SCT software... the most we could muster was 264 hp at the tires on pump-gas.
I agree although mine was tuned with diablo sport at 267 rwhp and 370 on 100 shot of giggle juice. I found out later that I forgot to plug in my 02 sensors before the tune so the numbers might have been a little more. I have 3.73 fr gear, full bolt-on minus cams and still running with stock injectors. Now combine it with my full race suspension with 85 lbs lifted off the front end and it makes for an eve more exciting ride.
Well when trick flow releases their 2V heads a good head, cam, and intake combo from them should put that car close to 400 hp...oh and it would be "street-legal."
Trick Flow's new Twisted Wedge heads have the intake port moved to the other side of the head similar to the '05 3 valves. Doing this allows for the use of bigger valves, higher lift and longer duration cams, and improves piston to valve clearance taking away the need to fly cut pistons. Also look around on some forums and you'll find a flow chart that compares their new heads straight out of the box to SVO 4 valve heads...pretty interesting numbers.

True they are alot more expensive but you get more than just an engine. You pay for alot of technology. Rear mounted tranny to the weight perfect front to rear, dual fuel tanks one on each side to keep fuel lever and weight the same and fully adjustable 4 wheel independent suspension with big brakes for kick ass stopping power. The corvettes show their muscle when it comes to performance handling for sure. I can say I have never drivin anything that has the handling as the newer vettes do.
This was never in doubt. I'm a Mustang guy(and a Vette guy), but the Vette just has too much motor for a 2 valve Mustang. Adding those steep gears just took away even more of its top end.

@nbatchler1 I'm guessing the Vette would still own...even with a 100 shot you will only be close to the stock hp at the wheels as the Vette but still have much more weight...try again

@mvvette97 You'd be picking up the bottom end of that LS1 all over the street. Every Vette we've built is great because it's LIGHT. Not because of the LS engine. Max horsepower race against the Ford motor isn't happening. Our Project GT (Ford GT) has a STOCK 5.4 ltr that's streetable and has been reliable at 1192 RWHP. Try that with any streetable pump gas LS Anything. Yes, I'm non-biased but seen what I've seen.

@mvvette97 Make almost 1200 HP on an LS whatever block & post the results! Make sure you clean off the oil from your hands after picking up pieces of crank off the street before ruining your keyboard : ) The best thing I LOVE about the Vette's is you don't NEED that much HP to run with a GT because you save pounds through the oval ducted, lightweight engine and overall design of that vehicle! All my Chevy only fellas will admit the HP war goes to Ford on stock production blocks. Just so heavy!

@thevettedude66 Well you obviously aren't aware of what the "stock" bottom end on a 2010 GT is... It isn't the same as the "Shelby" as it is believed to be.. There isn't a whole lot more you can really do to it.. There are several videos of the car on youtube. I won't hold your ignorance against you... How would you have known... Heck I didn't know about the specific abilities of the GT engine until Hendrick Motorsports filled us in! Calm down on the classy swear words chief... My nephew looks..

Stangs are geared so damn high its the only reason it can reach 60 like a chevy but still loses. At least chevy cares about racing to top speed unlike the people at ford who only care about a little drag race victory they win 1 out of 3 times.

@BimmerM5e39 The mustang is a "Pony Car" and a block in the wind... It was meant to rival Camaros and they have been back and forth for like 40 years.... A mustang shouldn't be able to hold a single gear against a Corvette- 350 Lbs less wieght, lower body, more HP from a larger engine, etc etc

Well this is not true there is a full bolt-on mustang with cams (4.10 gears btw) pushing over 300 hp and tq at the wheels and running very low twelves...video is on here...and with head work or if trick flow ever comes out with their new heads and an intake the car should be into the mid 11 range when it's done. I understand it's easy to doubt an N/A stang but please do some research first.

I beg to differ there are quite a few n/a 2v in the 12's without being force fed gears suspension and weight reduction are the keys to doing it with standard bolt on goodies granted the 2v's do respond very well to boost as friends of mine are into the mid 11's with just a s/c and gears

I just cant imagine one of those enemic 2-valve motors pulling a mustang through the1/4mile any faster than perhaps a low-14 or really high-13s.
They do not perform well at all N/A.

N/A modular ford v8s suck ass. No amount of bolt-ons will get a non "force-fed" 4.6l stang into the 12's.
We are tuning a "street-legal" 2001 mustang GT at UTI right now. Even with full exhaust, intake, 24lbs injectors, high-flow cats, pulley and dyno-tuning through SCT software... the most we could muster was 264 hp at the tires on pump-gas.
They perform well under boost though.

I agree although mine was tuned with diablo sport at 267 rwhp and 370 on 100 shot of giggle juice. I found out later that I forgot to plug in my 02 sensors before the tune so the numbers might have been a little more. I have 3.73 fr gear, full bolt-on minus cams and still running with stock injectors. Now combine it with my full race suspension with 85 lbs lifted off the front end and it makes for an eve more exciting ride.

Well when trick flow releases their 2V heads a good head, cam, and intake combo from them should put that car close to 400 hp...oh and it would be "street-legal."

Hmmmmm... Id have to see to believe it.
A stock 4.6l 2v with Ford PR heads starts choking at around 5500rpms from what Ive seen first hand on the dyno.
If Trick-flow has some kinda wonderous magic that can make these enemic motors breath better then Id love to see it in action.
Untill then, Ill remain skeptical.

Trick Flow's new Twisted Wedge heads have the intake port moved to the other side of the head similar to the '05 3 valves. Doing this allows for the use of bigger valves, higher lift and longer duration cams, and improves piston to valve clearance taking away the need to fly cut pistons. Also look around on some forums and you'll find a flow chart that compares their new heads straight out of the box to SVO 4 valve heads...pretty interesting numbers.

I didn't even care to race this guy but after months of him bad mouthing me and the vette I finally said fuck it. I'm not anti mustang at all, have had many mustangs in my life but I just had to shut this guys mouth. He started it so i finished it.

True they are alot more expensive but you get more than just an engine. You pay for alot of technology. Rear mounted tranny to the weight perfect front to rear, dual fuel tanks one on each side to keep fuel lever and weight the same and fully adjustable 4 wheel independent suspension with big brakes for kick ass stopping power. The corvettes show their muscle when it comes to performance handling for sure. I can say I have never drivin anything that has the handling as the newer vettes do.

This was never in doubt. I'm a Mustang guy(and a Vette guy), but the Vette just has too much motor for a 2 valve Mustang. Adding those steep gears just took away even more of its top end.
