  • Thats a hella solid groove ^^

  • that drummer is dangerous

  • Now this was another great time...I'll be breakfast was great too!!!

  • ohh what a pleasure to see cats enjoying and listening to each other that was soo tight it was sexy,,,,drummer & Lonnie damn the guitar cat took some tasty licks too..

  • the drumming is hypnotising, great!!

  • No Lonnie Smith is from Buffalo, NY

  • If Lonnie would ever need a doctor he should phone this drummer again.

Wow , this is some pure shit.

Wasn't Lonnie born also in Harlem?

  • @FenderRhodesService Dam straight man, Dr Smith don't need no doctor for his prescription to be filled.

  • I agree , that drumming is fantastic!!

  • Killer in the pocket drumming... ! ! !

  • Can you believe an old guy can play that fast and that good. Long live Lonnie!!!!

  • I agree he is an amazing musician, but shame on you for referring to him as "an old guy"! He can out play any 20 year old!!! I do agree...Long live Dr. Lonnie Smith!!!!

  • You are right ,guess I am the old guy. Started piano in 1939 ,organ 1980.

We have had Paige Cavenough 88 and his trio and Paul Smith 89 play for our keyboard club. That is old!

  • I meant no insult to anyone. It is wonderful how music keeps a person young and I believe that a musician should keep playing as long as they are able...if they can still play at 90 years old or 100 years old they should, they must...it keeps a person young!!!! You keep on playing!!! Great musicians like Dr. Smith only get better with age like fine wine!

  • Dr. Lonnie= King of funk organ !!!

wow, hes not wearing a turban !!! ;-)

  • wooooooow!!!!

  • It's on 132nd in between Douglass and Powell (7th & 8th Aves). The best night is Sundays for Seleno Clark's jam session, it's been going on for over 10 years!

  • here is ''American Legion Post'' in Harlem.

    here is like ordinal house.

i went to here 1 years ago to paticipate jam session.

  • who knows title of this tune??

    i wanna know that!

    good tune of rhythm change.

  • Surprising flat-fingered technique, a la Horowitz.

  • where is this place????? someone said it's located on 132nd. but what is the cross street?? is the organ part of the jazz club?? I'd love to go by there....

  • Kickn ass drummer 2!

  • This is sick!

  • where is this place located?? is there an organ there...I know harlem so where on 132nd is this place????? 132nd and what?

  • Indeed! The funkiest B3 burner on the planet!!!

  • kick ass!!

  • ♫♫♫♫♫

  • I have seen Dr. Lonnie Smith live many times in New York, and have even stood next to him on the subway (the #3 train). He is

fascinating to watch - it's almost like when he plays he goes into a transcendanal mode. He is the one of the few of the"ol' skool" greats that are still around. I caught him and Lou Donaldson at the Village Vanguard about five years ago. Fkn amazing!! This is music, as "A Tribe Called Quest" would say - that'll "make you rub your feet on the rhythm rug".

  • I meant transcendental. No spellcheck on YouTube!

  • Killer as always... Thanks for posting!

  • It's a funny rythm the drummer is playing, i found i pretty enjoying :)

  • Premium post. Gratitude.

  • Is Seleno sitting at the bar?

  • Are you the guy whose comments I read on Amazon - a B-3 player? Cuz if you know who Seleno is, you're the real deal. The organ Trio at Lenox Lounge on Wednesdays (Nate Lucas) is also extremely cool.

  • I've written loads of review on Amazon... Seleno, as far as I'm concerned is the patron saint of all Jazz organists... The baddest organist in Harlem, and a true mentor for all younger players... He gave me one of my first lessons on playing the blues... There are players who are technically way better than him, however, I can't think of any who match his energy and authenticity... and for the record he IS paying me to say this...

  • is there still organ playing going on at the lenox lounge?

  • amazing!!!

  • No comments? This is some serious sh*t! Give it up for the master!

  • jepp - the master and his friends

  • You have no idea of Jazz on the Hammond organ. He is the master! Excellent playing.
