  • Anything that brings your little brother and his friend running at full speed to check out has to be good.

  • 'Big Balls Of Fire!!!' i said

  • i like how the kids run straight to the fire=]

  • little kids: cool!!!! fire!!!! lets touch it

Dad: nooo kids dont touch it! fire is dangerous. Put it out while i put this thing away

Little kids: lets use that stuff daddy used to soak the pumpkin before he shot it!!!

yeah! thats a great idea. ( the stuff is gasoline)

Dad: HOLY SHIT THE FIRE SPREAD AND KILLED THE KIDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Happy Halloween, lol :)

  • 2 words atracted me to this " Exploding Pumpkins"

  • nice! did that pumpkin get a little close to the power lines? that would be a fun one to explain to the power company had it taken them down.

  • what did you use for your counter weight? im building a treb about this size but i dont know what to use for the counter weight. also, did you use the 133 to 1 ratio( that is the weight if the counter weight is 133 times the weight of the projectile) for your counter weight?

  • @400person I just built a box and filled it with sand and some weights from a weight bench. I never measured the weight, so I don't know what the ratio is. Also, the projectiles we use vary a lot in weight.

If I had to guess I'd say the weight is 300 or 400 pounds, though.

  • have you tried launching fire pots out of that you can make them out of a clay pot and

tar and some magnessium with black powder i suggest roffing tar

  • @wolvenblacktalon1 No I haven't. That would be fun, but pumpkins and gas work good enough and don't cost too much.

  • oi i reckon u guys should make a hwacha

  • @MrLaurence007 Yes, I agree. Someday I would like to make one, but it will be expensive and time-consuming. It would be easy to make the hwacha itself, but making all the rocket-arrows would require a lot of black powder and a lot of time. Since I have a cannon, I usually do have a decent amount of black powder available, though.

  • if you like this sort of stuff you should really check out my video

     it got about twelve meters.

  • omg this is pro

  • lolz @ little kid running up to it afterwards 'daddy daddy look at the FIRE' 'SON! you forgot about the second pump...' BOOM! '...kin...'

  • Great!!!

  • that looks safe

  • that was amazing guys

  • The headless horseman would be jealous.

  • @eyetheskies The horseless headman too!

  • lol think what happends when your in your car and u look up, and see a huge fireball falling on top of it:P

  • sweet

  • MOLOTOV PUMPKIN

  • Awesome!!!

  • isn't that a least bit dangerous doing that in a field of grass

  • Not during the winter in Oregon. Plus gas tends to burn itself and not its surroundings if there's not much of it.

  • so your in Oregon, I live in Washington and made a trebuchet that through exploding tennis balls

  • It would only be dangerous if the grass was really dry. Fires in regular green grass will not spreak because of the amount of water inside the grass. When you burn youself, does your whole body burst into flames? I would sure hope not. Its the same concept.

  • that is cool!

i once saw on discovery channel a programme with guys that built a trebuchet but it wasnt even half as good as this one! very nice

  • trebuchets are awesome

  • hot and steamy treb action

  • thats it kids! go close to the grass fire!

  • The grass wasn't on fire. Green grass is extremely difficult to catch fire. and standing close to it is not really a problem...if you feel hot you can take a step away and your fine.

  • You laughed though Keith, you know it.

  • As Smokey Bear says, "Only YOU can prevent forest fires!"

    LOL

  • Surprisingly enough, we've never had any close calls with fire. (Except the time a gallon jug full of diesel and gas launched backward rather than forward. That was a memorable experience.) Fire isn't much to worry about in the Pacific Northwest during the winter.

  • Sounds fun. I'd absolutely love to see that video if you have it recorded somewhere. :)

  • Actually, I think I do have that somewhere. I'm glad you mentioned it because I forgot I had it. I'll post it if I get the time to find it.

  • I found the video of the trebuchet misfire and uploaded it, as well as a compilation of a bunch of trebuchet firings, as well as some night ones.

  • Cool ive always been interested in medevil things but never got around to making a decent 1

We often have alot of ship wrecks where I live in South Africa usually only carrying cargo like grain or mahogany logs

But every time a new ship runs aground I always think of building 1 of these things to throw fire balls at before the sea smashes it up

Sometimes unfortunately they 300 metres off shore so I gues id have to modfy it a bit to reach it

-might have to stick with my golf pratice lol

  • LOL! Very nice

  • rock and roll! looks like fun!

  • Haha, that's sick keith. I remember being there that one time when we did it at night. Good stuff, and then we eat your mom's dank mexican casserole. I love that stuff.

  • mine is a bit smaller and much less sturdy, how long does your trebuchet shoot?

  • About 90-115 yards.

  • Awesome.

  • loool how did you bild this kind of trebuchet?

  • LOl nice :D This is Greek Fire ?

  • I believe the exact recipe for Greek Fire has never been discovered. I wish it was Greek Fire. Anyhow, this is gasoline.

  • hmmm, yes you're right, but is nice ;))
