  • Cory sucks at this song, compared to Chuck. He sounds like he's forcing it because he is!! I never did care for this stuck up creep. Chuck Negron IS TDN as far as I'm concerned. He helps out so many recovering addicts as well!!! Bless Chuck Negron..These guys here SUCK!!!

  • bring back floyd sneed the black dude a dam good drummer and the orignal.

  • Actually, Danny is my favorite. Cory, second. They can absolutely do it without Chuck. And from the looks of things, they are. Would love to see them. Wish they'd come to Louisville. And damn...they both still look good.

  • There never was a voice like Chuck's and he still has it ! He's clean and sober and sounds awesome !

  • No Chuck ..... no Dogs! I saw him in Burlington, Vermont about a month ago. He's still got it going! When I read he's lost his voice from drugs and alcohol......it's simply not true! He was awesome! As for the comment about his "garrage" band........I guess there's no point in elaborating! The spelling says it all!

  • @badb1rdie -don't be too quick to criticize people for their grammar or spelling ! Has it ever occurred to you that a lot of youtube people here - English is not their 1st , 2nd but maybe 3rd or 4th language ? If yours is so proper, shouldn't you have recognized the "foreign tone" in their writting..??

  • they did a great job for a bunch of geeaers to please a bunch of geezers

  • @ptorres109 a bunch of what..?

  • Cory should either sing this alone or not at all. Danny does not sound good on this.

  • Remember folks, these are men in their 60's. I find it an inspiration that they can still do it. Yes, chuck was the original but they do an amazing job.

  • THEY SOUND GREAT FOR 60 YR OLDS

  • @GIZOKS YEAH THEY SOUND GREAT FOR 61 YRS OLD §§§§

  • No, NorskeDrummer, Chuck still can do just fine. I've seen it on his home videos. The problem is, I think, that if you look at their concerts in the past when they were in their prime, they just put so much energy into their singing, and they just don't want to work that hard anymore. Maybe they can't, you know, Cory doesn't even sing quite the way he used to usually. They're just pushing 70 now, and maybe just don't have the oomph. But Chuck's tenor is still very much alive.

  • That being said, you are right in that this song really doesn't sound quite right. Something's wrong. Maybe they should hire a third dog to take Chuck's place if they are dead set on never having him back. Another tenor. One close to their age! Otherwise, maybe they should consider renaming themselves Two Dog Night.

But you gotta figure, they've achieved all this incredible music in their past and that's what counts.Give them credit for that. Just say, thanks for the memories, guys.

  • @66LifesMistress77 very true.. .and Cory really needs to lay of the plastic surgery. I used to see Cory and his group 'The Enenys' at the Haunted House in Hollywd. before he was in 3 Dog Nite...

  • @zbestwun2001 Wow! Plastic surgery, huh? I thought guys didn't have to do that! Guys just look like vintage stuff with all kinds of character in their faces when they age. Usually, its us poor women who feel we have to go under the knife. Hmm... That would explain the stiffness and lack of expression I see sometimes when I watch him perform now. Really??

  • @66LifesMistress77 yep... and I am friends with Chuck.. and all the haters really don't know Chuck's doing real well and seems very happy. Of course I know he has not to much love for this group anymore... but that's their business not ours really.

  • @zbestwun2001 Sad turn of events for us as fans, but, I agree. And I love Chuck's videos. His are the most consistant with what I like to see, of all the users' I've seen. Nice and short, too.

  • @66LifesMistress77 And I like them short because I can see something really quick and jump off in a hurry when I need to and not feel like I've been interrupted. He's really good at dropping in something funny or just fun to see when you need a quick lift.

  • You see what happens when I get interrupted?? = [

  • @zbestwun2001 - Where is that vicious rumor "plastic surgery" from ? I sat front table staring at Cory for 2 hours show OCT 2011, shook his hand and told him "he was the best"... He looked old , as his age = 69yrs ! No plastic surgery . So stop spreading that nonsense .

They still put on a great live show ,and I've been to 11 concerts this year so far . ok ?

  • Wow, Chuck is really missed!

  • Chuck doesn't have the voice any longer...drugs and booze claimed it.

  • @il4mygrdkds2

so what's the excuse for these two losing their voices. they sound a hot mess.

  • @il4mygrdkds2 LOL and you know this because????

  • Why can't Chuck and these guys get back together? They could tour and bring their music to my kids.

  • wow, how the years fly by...

  • This song is not even close without Chuck.

  • @honest4sure listen to how Chuck sings it now :( Not good!

  • 17 people find it easy to be hard :(

  • @DanaVanHeerden That'll show 'em won't it??

  • This song never gets old. Classic!

  • Welcome back Chuck! it's good to be awake right?

  • Sencillamente fantasticos. Me remonto a los años setenta. Que nostalgia y que alegria.....! tiempos que no volveran jam{as.....!

    COngratulations. you are wonderful.....!

  • Pros! These guys still bring it. Better than 40 yrs ago as a matter of fact. Flawless.

  • Really now!! Cory Wells looks so much like Alan Rickman! I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!

  • One of my very favorites!!! Still fantastic!!!!

  • I wouldn't step outside my back door to see these guys without Chuck Negron. It would be like watching CSN without Graham Nash.Sorry, but true.

  • I personally wouldn;t step out my back door to see these guys perform without Chuck Negron. It would be like watching CSN without Graham Nash.

  • Don't get hung up on the small stuff. listen to the words and feel the music. It was true then and is as true today. Thank you for the post

  • 3 Dog Night: an Australian reference to the number of dogs you need sleeping next to you at night in the outback to keep warm & comfy. For what it's worth.

  • JoeyFudd If people pay to see Chuck Negron they must have stopped listening to music news on the radio or in Rolling Stone and the like more than 30 years ago.

  • To all the haters, I'm a musician, and I've heard Chuck singing recently. He just doesn't have it anymore, and when he sings these songs they don't sound anything like Three Dog Night anymore. Sorry, but that's reality. Besides, Cory always was the face of the band and had the outstanding lead vocals.

  • @NorskeDrummer Schade. It's sad to see Negron has lost it all.

  • I see youtube downloads of Chuck from 2 years ago and he still sounded really good. 3DN is going to be better because they are more established and they are 2 to Chuck's 1. Both great shows and I am prepared to make a long trek to New York or some place to see them from New Brunswick Canada --- They still have it at their age -- saw Dylan last year and he is terrible now.

  • evereyone who knocks these two guys needs t remember Chuck is out of this band

because he sucked more coke up his nose than oxygen, its his fault he's no singing with these two great entertainers. I like His version of this song - but lats face it three dog night was comprised of three EQUALLY talented singers. I have most of their albums, and seen them live many times - the best band of all time

  • @kodiak7251 He should have had some humility. If he had wanted the band to himself, he should have hired his backup and went solo.

  • They should have let bygones be bygones and had Chuck back. Chuck Negron made this group! I have Chuck's own DVD where he does all these songs and he rocks just as good today as then!

  • Other than a couple of comments, the rest of you don't get it. I am not going to waste my time explaining details to those who have no appreciation for REAL music, regardless of who is/isn't present. One person does not make a group, and since this one person decided to frig up his life and let the music die, the others are supposed to as well? They are keeping the music of the group alive, sorry if you don't like it. I grew up with this stuff, have 2 albums (vinyl) by them and I love it.

  • gyönyörű szám

  • I feel bad for the fans who pay to see Chuck Negron on lead vocals then get ripped off in some bogus bait & switch con job.

  • Still, you really can't beat this, with an orchestra even! These were the songs my fiends and I listnened to on a cheap transitor radio at the park as we played baseball on a Saturday.

  • Just a fair tribute band without chuck.

  • damn .that dude looks like a walking corpse

  • I've been going to 3DN concerts for 35 years now, and I love this version. Not seeing why people have a problem with it. Things change. Things evolve. So do people. So do voices. The song and their voices have stood the test of time.

  • I'd rather need a friend :)

  • Chucks version is SO MUCH BETTER. Not even close here. Chucks band is so much better then this band.

Sorry Danny and Cory, I think Chuck is a better entertainer, has a better voice, and puts on a better concert in general. You 2 schmucks keep holding your grudge. Chuck is a born again Christian...he did some horrible things to the band in the past but the past is the past. Get over it and get back together you hard headed schmucks.

  • Nobody can sing this song like CHUCK!

  • Love this song, i was looking for it after listening a kid loco album(great artist too), this sound is my phone ringtone.

  • I miss hearing chuck on this one.

  • @gdwmontg10

I agree with you. THIS version here just flat out sucks.

  • WOW! This new incarnation of Three Dog Night is OUTSTANDING! All these old favorite songs sound freash & crisp & Danny & cory look & sound great

  • these guys sound great, and they each have their own signature song from when they were all singing their hits, this is Chucks.

  • It's to bad Chuck didn't stay with Danny and Cory, but hey they still sound great. I have been listening since the 60's as well. and I gotta tell ya for all the stuff they have gone through in their lives, I think they are doing pretty good!

  • this song is awesome on Zodiac!!!!

  • Super great music! Where is the equal to this now?

  • one of my fav song, unforntunatly, they don't understand the message, so simple...

  • I love these guys but this is Chuck's song just like Mama told me not to come is Corey's

  • Cory is a great singer and Danny used to be.....they shouldn't do this song. A sad version of Chuck's song.....

  • LET CHUCK BACK IN THE GROUP!!

  • What fools, these 2. Whatever $ they hog by splitting it 2 ways instead of 2, is dopey. Once Chuck left the band, they never recorded another album & became nostalgia act. If they reuinited they'd make a fortune. Cory's thrift is legendary. But for that reason, you'd think he'd man up & realize that a couple hundred thou divided by two, is a hundred thou each. Millions & millions & millions divided by 3 is MILLIONS for each. Chucks clean 19 years now. I think it's safe to reuinite, ye boobs!

  • no wonder j hudson sang this song for Idol...the timeless genius of 3 dog Night!

  • these guys are still awesome!!!

  • A gem of a song,..by a great band!

  • Sorry but Chuck's soaring tenor owns this song.

  • @behdoc listen to Chuck's recent shows ...:(

  • Comment removed

  • That's my uncle on the drums! Fantastic song!

  • @mindfreak990... what?! seriously? that is so cool..

  • @Starlitblond Yeah seriously! It's my dad's brother, Pat Bautz.

  • @mindfreak990 that's must be soooo cool. I love it! How did he get that gig?

  • @Starlitblond He auditioned. He knew some guys who were auditioning for the drummer position and went for it. He learned to drum when he was little from my dad and other uncle, and he and my dad taught me to drum. (Indirectly and directly at times)

  • Oh Yess! I loved this song when it came out! Just a beautiful song...

  • Cory and Danny are good...but not the same w/out Chuck! They will never get together again...very sad. I miss big Floyd!!! He was always great to watch.

  • @Watchinthefoolshere

Catch a Chuck Negron show and you'll see Floyd.

  • Better than ever!

  • All music had a message in it back in the day. The words meant so very, very much. Three Dog Night was one of those groups that had so much so much of everything that was going on back them

  • Chuck has the most soulful voice of the 3.

  • corey has always been the one with the best voice , looks and stage presence

  • caught the original group in 1968,powerful,fun...

  • Chuck Negron was the best singer of this song.

  • hehe he says who can people not how....first guy

  • 3 DOG 4 THE ROCK & ROLL HALL OF FAME

  • well,it ain't Chuck!

  • @garzaeduardo true but its Cory and Danny good stuff!

  • @65Colleen I wish the 3 would get together for the fans , life is too short , they will regret this someday

  • @gravano2 I agree, it would be a beautiful thing to see all three, it's time to work out old differences, I heard Danny (and don't get me wrong he's my fav) sing the lead for old fashion love song , it does't sound near the same.

  • @65Colleen Go see Chuck sing this song from last year , it sounds great

  • Comment removed

  • this should be a cialis commercial theme

  • It's a shame how age changes our physical

appearance. They're still great, however, with the

    same spirit.

  • Are you kidding me , these guys look great , remember their from the 60's

  • @gravano2 Amen! to that

  • no country for old men?

  • it is what it is... anyone who remembers the original band remembers Chuck sharing duties

and he had the higher and strongest voice. It

doesn't look like he will ever sing with the band again, and we all miss that. But the band sounds great.

  • tanto chuck como danny la cantan pefecto

  • Get over Chuck. He isnt with the band anymore. These guys sound great. Corey is a great singer, so is Danny. This sounds fantastic...

  • The bass player has a great voice too

  • I saw these guys in 1970 right before I went to Vietnam...All their songs played in country also. I would like to see them again. But can't find out where they are playing..MADDIN

  • yea id like to see them again to brother welcome home

  • jeez man that must have been bad, loadsa soldiers smoked the weed and stuff like that hope you did, peace

  • Do Chuck and DAnny still hold a grudge against Chuck? IF so they really need to bury the hatchet those guys had a sound that can't even be matched by ANY GROUP!!! I would hate to see pettiness come between them.

  • What a ridiculous screeching mess, that makes a mockery out of this great tune.

If you like this song, do yourself a favor and listen to the early Live at the Forum version of it (with Chuck on lead of course) if you haven't already - I guarantee you, you'll be glad you did. It's a masterpiece of a performance, unlike this silly crap.

That whole album is in fact fantastic.

  • I was their at the Forum and saw that show, you are right that they are a GREAT BAND. And would like to see them again...MADDIN

  • its never like the original negron yo the best 1970 oh what a year//generic is not always good.....

  • Yo. ...Negron sang backup on this bro. Yo dude....saw them live 1969 Danny had a sore throat he tried to sing opening line threw mike down and Cory took over. Yo .Dude. Chuck sang Lead on Dog Hits maybe three times. Yo. heroin is for losers. Dude.

  • Chuck does sing his song's. I live in Vegas and have seen his show twice. Hasn't kept his voice like Cory and Danny however, but still great. These guys sound better than ever.

  • Chuck willl always be my favorite of the group. This group would be better if they let Chuck sing his songs especially the ones we will always remember with his beautiful voice.

  • Danny was always, always my favorite. They sound wonderful even after all these years. Chuck isn't even missed as far as I'm concerned.

  • Cory is one STRANGE looking dude....looks like someone in a t.v show that lurks around school yards..and gets hauled in by the shows hero cop's...

  • he looks like mr bean.

  • Wow, they sound great.

  • egghead, NOT, Cory is singing lead now on Chucks leads on there records. Cory, however, was my favorite of the three.

  • No Chuck ,no easy to be hard.

  • Danny and Cory do "Crybaby"

  • "Hoe can people be so artless"???

  • they played at the Finger Lakes Racing track this summer in Upstate New York. They were very good...

  • Always good to hear them sing together..or even just Chuck by himself..I seen them more in concerts over the yrs..Blessings Annie

  • Feel good lyrics + strong vocals = GREAT music! Back when what you said in a song mattered! I was only a little kid when these guys were making hits on the charts, never did get to see them live but I loved 'em! Who could ever forget Joy to the World and Mama Told Me Not To Come and on and on and on! It's good to know they are still out there making good music! Thanks for posting this great video!

  • Chuck's version is much better. If they didn't sing any of Chuck's songs, their set list would be cut significantly. Bring Chuck and Floyd back.

  • Danny and Cory do "Crybaby" Chuck's renditions very well, and dont miss a beat. Too bad Chuckie still lives in the past, and doesnt seem to give a shit about his former bandmates or fans. SAD!

  • @retro152

Read his autobio. He didn't want to leave the band, he just wanted to do new material and the other two didn't. Chuck was unwilling to "live in the past," so went off on his own and is doing very well.

  • And Chuck Negron is all over Youtube singing songs that Cory Wells sang on the records. Let it go. Those records were 40 years ago. Today is today. What is it they say about people who live in glass houses? It's interesting to read posts by people who are fans of Chuck Negron. Instead of going and praising his videos, they spend time posting about the current band. It's like 7th grade. It's not like Chuck Negron works at a gas station and is being kept from having a career in music.

  • @egghd1

Chuck has as successful a music career as Two Dog Night.

  • I agree WTF life is shirt bring 'em back and go on tour they could clean up!

  • Clean up their shirt?

  • dry clean only

  • @PaBasser bullshit. Cory is great here, and although Chuck is "back"...he fucked away twenty years of his life. And that's bullshit, no matter how you measure it.

  • @PaBasser

This concert was incredible. I too would like to see Chuck come back but take it from someone who was at this performance...the Two Dogs still rock!!!

  • What is the vocal hall of fame?

  • They are in the Vocal Group Hall of Fame

and right fully so. Rock n Roll hall of fame is just a tad bit slow is all. Still a great band back then and still great now rock on TDN.

  • rock and roll hall of fame sucks no 3 dog night, no moody blues

  • @planetjanet2

No "YES," no "Emerson, Lake & Palmer," and on and on. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is as pointless as the Oscar Awards. It has nothing to do with fans; it's all business: get a show on the air for the sponsor money.

  • This is amazing. Three Dog Night has only become better with age.

  • Are these folks NOT in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame? And if so, why not???

  • ty 3dn. wooolf

  • Yeah!!!! I grew up on 3DN's stuff through my junior hs and hs years. I love this rendition and appreciate the orchestral arrangement. Cory and Danny made this rendition theirs, imho. Rock on guys, can't wait to see you at the Pacific Amphitheater!!!

  • I'd much rather hear Chuck sing it, however his voice sounds these days, than this version. The way Chuck sang this you felt it--he emotion into it. Cory looks like this is just painful for him to sing. And frankly, it's painful for me to watch these guys redo Chucks' songs. Bring Chuck back or just do the songs that he didn't sing lead vocals on. But their biggest hits were the ones Chuck sang, so I guess that's why they're doing his songs.

  • AND FLOYD SNEED ON DRUMS

  • Your right on rockmanlds, Danny and Cory have gotten better with age. Cory is amazing. Chuck has lost his edge as the best singer in the group. I would love to see all 3 guys together for a special night.

  • he's no chuck

  • and the drummer certainly ain't no Floyd .

  • And to most people, that's a good thing.

  • @jazzlady40 Wells and Hutton more than have Negron's ass covered here...Cory is incredible. Enuf said.

  • @jazzlady40 Chuck was too boozed and drugged up for 20 years.

  • @HattieLovesCattie But even in his "boozed and drugged up" state, Chuck STILL sang this song better that either of these fools-----and he still does!! Yes, Chuck made some bad choices, but he paid a very high price for those choices! Please have some compassion for a truly beautiful man who made it through the fire, and is once again entertaining his millions of fans, thanks to the grace of God!

  • @broncolady4ever Hey,I'm glad he is doing ok.I too wish he was with the group.Oh well.Danny was my favorite tho.I would love to see them all again. The last time I saw Danny and Cory was 12 years ago at my state fair.

  • @HattieLovesCattie I'd love to see the three of them back together again, too, but apparently there's some bad blood among them, so I doubt that will ever happen! BTW, Chuck was MY favorite, and I STILL love his voice! Praise God that he still has that beautiful voice and is finally clean and sober!

  • @broncolady4ever Better late than never.I was reading about Chuck online and that his Mother was English and his Dad P Rican. His daughters also sang with him in LA so the talent still runs in the family.Danny wanted him back in the group but Cory didn't so the bad blood must be with Cory.

  • @HattieLovesCattie It is! IMO, and pardon the expression, Cory is a PRICK (read Chuck's book; you'll understand why I say this)!! Also IMO, Cory sounds like CRAP singing this song!!

  • @broncolady4ever I agree ck out this link ! Corys a jerk, the hell with this "band: a joke ! Chuck was Three dog Night! God Bless the man!

  • @TheDavidbooth IMO, these two JERKS need to remove EVERY song on which Chuck originally sang the lead vocals from their repertoire, because neither Danny nor Cory can come CLOSE to matching Chuck's vocal ability, even NOW! Chuck has been recording some new, original music and his voice sounds better than ever! God bless him!

  • Smokin' shit these guys are Pros'

  • NONE of them is as good as ALL of them! They sing best together...

This is a delicate song..not for danny or corey and they should leave it alone..Just like Chuck leaves Try a Little Tenderness for only one man to sing...Corey

  • couldn't agree with you more....'nuff said!!

  • This is still very good , but I would love to see all 3 dogs , why are they so hard on Chuck , what happened to cause such hatred

  • @gravano2

Chuck burned these guys good and hard with his heroin addiction. I bet he'd be the first to admit it.

  • @arfalon Was it money ?

  • Man ya'll are smoking some bad crap. i've seen these guys 17 times (yeh, i know, get a life) from 1972 ti now, and I've seen negron a few times solo, and as much as i love chuck, the years have not been kind to the ol' vocal chords. Corey continues to amaze with his strong belting voice, and Danny does not miss a beat. They get better with age. I can't imagine what they do at their age. They are my favorite. Long live TDN.

  • Chuck doesn't do this song any better these days. If you want to compare 60 year old men to recordings of them in their 20's, Danny is the only one who still sings as well as he used to.
