  • He was using his own branded storm spare ball

  • Anyone know what were the oil patterns on these lanes? Belmonte made it look extremely easy for sure...

  • why are they bowling on 32 and 33

  • Who ever thinks zzzzzzzz231 is an idiot give me a thumbs up.

  • Im a 2handed bowler, and i have been it whole my life, when i was around 9-10 years old, I wanted to learn to throw the ball with one arm. But then my coach told me about Jason Belmonté and Osku Palermaa. I want to thank My coach and Jason/osku, without them i would not be the bowler i am today (sry for my english) :)

  • That is where you are wrong. Bowling is not a SPORT!!!!!! It is a game.

  • @Superbowler08 It is mostly considered a sport since you use strength and exert your body, a game is something that doesn't requite physical exertion to any extreme.

  • Two handed bowling is for pussies and is a complete disgrace to the sport.

  • best two handed gripper(is that how you say it?)

  • a PBA bowler at a bowling alley? *gasp*

  • ive only being bowling 4 18 months and im a two handed bowler highest score 280

  • What patterns are they bowling?

  • i wonder if he needs finger holes?

  • @harrypter123

finger holes still needed to lift the ball

  • @sonadid thanks i was wondering that.

  • @sonadid And to add revolutions.

  • @sonadid They are not there to help him lift, they are there to make the ball legal. lol. lift is not necessary anymore in bowling, and has actually been labeled as bad. watch the way he lays the ball down. it lands like an airplane, smoothly. there is nothing in the air in bowling, so why would you want to lift the ball? thanks for the vid!

  • @harrypter123

He has finger holes he puts in his index and middle finger and leaves the thumb out

  • @harrypter123 he dont use the thumb hole :)

  • @harrypter123 he uses finger holes to get the revolutions he needs, but he has no thumb hole, his left arm is used like the thumb which gives him the support and accuracy he needs.

  • @harrypter123 your retarded!

  • @narCable I'm not a 2 handed bowler so...

  • @harrypter123 he does

  • @harrypter123

Hes def using using all but his thumb.

  • @harrypter123 As noted, finger holes needed to lift ball. As far as the bowl itself, Belmonte uses just two of the holes. His thumb is not in the thumb hole when he bowls.

  • @Faybio

Im almost certain he uses his thumb.

  • @necrocannibal

Nope, he isn't. This is not a mystery, Belmonte's style has been discussed and debated by many. Check around the web and you can verify. Even in this video, if you watch, you can clearly see his thumb flat against the ball upon windup and release.

  • @harrypter123 and put more spin

  • whats the name of the ball belmonte plays with?

  • He lost by 5 pins you stupid douche bags...Wow that is some hard core ownage... GFY one handers.

  • Look at all the advertising, its as bad as nascar !

  • I bowl with two hands and ive done it since i was 3 just came natural and I bowled my first 300 recently im only 17 still Lots of more room to improve.

  • the anouncers said cock like 30 times

  • @bowlingprodogy he must be dick ridin.

  • i just love the fact that ppl are talkin about two handed bowling and what not, do whatever's comfortable but all in all, this is a vid of belmo losing to a one handed bowler. one hand FTW!

  • he`s a retard.He`s throwing the ball with both hands,just like a baby.That`s stupid.

  • 2 hand bowling increases fun and laughter :D:D

  • 2 hands are actually better then 1 since you can throw faster with more rotation and with lots of practice comes accuracy. i raised my average 30 pins by bowling with 2 hands and not thinking about going back to 1h xD

  • and another thing if you notice he is only using his left hand to keep the ball from falling he basically bowls 1 handed he just keeps his hand there for support

  • i dont know who your usbc coach is but he obviousley wants you to throw your arm out and also to the people saying 2 hands are better than 1 no its not and you actually get better rotation on the ball using one hand not two

  • two hands work better but this big fat lady is keep saying to me you have to use three fingers im like shut up i hate bowling straight

  • its not recomended to even throw with two hands or two fingers i was told many times not to do it by my coachs dave husted and jeff combs yes one of my coaches was dave husted lol but yah they told me not to do it

  • my USBC coach told me to bowl like this and it has raised my average like 20 pins

  • Comment removed

  • yeah

  • @2mreatme

You don't have to, but it's recommended to do it, to get better rotation on the ball.

  • Its not recommended..

  • better 2 hands then 1 xD

  • Is that a white team storm ball?

  • Yeah he is with storm now.

  • haha fuck off mate, if thats the truth tell me your name and i'll google it.

  • in league or practice?

  • last week i had a 257 game 2-handed style and i am only 13

  • @wwerulesj Not bad. I got my first ever 200 game when I was 9 but I haven't been able to get the 250. I can only seem to get the high 240's

  • Results are the only thing that matter. Don't care how you get that ball down the lane. Kick it if works for you

  • You are the most intelligent person I have met on Youtube yet.

    You are absolutely right.

  • How does anyone in their right mind think Belmonte is slop? Gimme a break, if you can bowl multiple 300's you are not slop.

  • just play on the way which we comfortable with it. what important is to get strike and legal. just like that

  • What's the point of having to share two ball returns here?

  • Wow.. Jason looks real young here :)

  • I've reached a 190-195 average and my younger brother bowls two-handed and I can tell you from my own experience with the style that it's definately not one to be underestimated. I can't get the hang of two handed bowling myself and if its so easy to get strikes with two hands then every bowler on the PBA would switch to a two-handed delivery the fact is you bowl however you feel comfortable bowling, there are people who bowl backwards for christ sakes that could out bowl most people commenting

  • i bowl two handed i am ok i bowl i 120 i have been bowling for about 3 week and i am hoping i will find my permenant mark when i get my own ball

  • that other guy i think is the one with the bad form. he drops the ball down on the third step

  • Myth: two-handed style has no future, requires no skill, is lousy

Fact: two-handed style has a larger margin of error on some lanes due to higher power and rev. However it has the cost of making the ball harder to control and throw consistently, while employing the entire body's muscles intead of just the arm.

  • while two handing uses all the body's muscle, it decreases longevity for the sport.

  • It means that a large amount of no-talents can successfully bowl, versus being failed single-handed bowlers.

  • @zzzzzzzz231 screw u man i would love to see you beat me and i roll two handed

  • @JEEPMAN1195 I'm with you man! I am not two-handed, but I have so much respect for the athleticism it takes to bowl with two hands, i've tried in practice for fun, and barely broke 150 lol

  • @wiiman0001 no one respected me when i first started two handed i told them to just let me bowl i pay my league fees and now im in 1st place and have held that for the last 12 weeks and they figured out that im right and their wrong my average went from 180 to a 208 in 3 weeks and they tell me its stupied

  • @JEEPMAN1195 see I have no problem with it, for me when conditions are dry, i move to the outside and throw it slow to give it enough time to hook, if its oily i stay in my normal spot and just throw it faster so my ball doesn't hook as much, we ALL do things to change our game to our advantage, and two handed bowling is exactly that, is a new form of bowling that has swept thru the bowling world. Sorry those one handers are jerks, we're not all like that. Congrats on your success! Keep it up!

  • @JEEPMAN1195 me too! but i still dont get much respect in my youth league even though im the top and a 200+ average bowler. just gotta prove them wrong on the score board i guess.

  • @zzzzzzzz231 requires no skill? Try bowling against Jason Belmonte or Osku Palermaa and see who beats who. I am not two-handed but have some respect for those who are excelling at this sport. Who is the number #1 bowler in the PBA right now???......Jason Belmonte is!

  • @zzzzzzzz231 just stop typing your a fucking moron...you probably suck at bowling a dont know shit about the sport

  • @jakeg111222333 Dude, you are fucking blind or suck at English too much to understand what "Myth" is. As are countless other posters on this video. I am merely debunking mistaken assumptions about two-handed bowling, being a two-handed bowler myself. Please read carefully ya fucking idiots. Apparently most posters can't differentiate between "Myth" and "Fact". Let me show you an example of a Myth: You have a six-inch dick. Let me show you an example of a Fact: You have a three-inch dick. _|_

  • Haha I couldn't get a strike two handed, but I agree, two handed style is probably not the future, but it does keep bowling a little bit more interesting, don't you think?

  • Honestly, one or two handed bowling doesnt matter. It's not any easier or any harder to bowl two handed. It is not hard to be consistent bowling two handed. People just don't try it because it "looks more professional one handed"

  • no its beacuase when they where young 2 handed bowlers keept playing with 3 hands becuase when the where like 3 the balls where too heavy

  • Jason is best. I've started to throw like him and my average has raised 7pins in a month.

  • kool

  • How desperate organized bowling has become to allow this two-handed travesty to exist..

  • youre just jealous

can you bowl with two hands

    i didnt think so

  • he's just a good player,,, he even won on the PBA tour,, bowling is a sport about knocking the pins down,, no mater how u do it..so get over it tata966

  • Well, with your logic then maybe people should start using a ball that detonates when it hits the pins.

  • hahaha r u serious? its a technique. by exaggerating it like that, its like your accusing ppl who use different techniques of cheating. take tennis for example. techniques and materials have changed over the years and made winning hits change from around 60 mph hits to 90 mph hits or higher. is it cheating and demeaning the sport? of course not. is it cheating to use 2 hands on a racket? of course not. ur thinking way too traditional and one dimensional.

  • Your analogies and examples are oversimplistic and erroneous. No insult, but I don't think you're capable of wrapping your mind around the essence of what I'm conveying to you.

  • exactly how r they oversimplistic? uve never provided any actual flaws in my arguement. your trying to say that skill and talent only comes from one handed bowling and its a travesty to bowl differently. ur not that hard to understand. traditional has its own merits but improving on it is just natural. and ur last comment doesnt counter anything. all uve basically sed is "ur rong, im rite. im rite cuz u dont understand my feelings" =P. seriously.cmon.u gotta do better than that

  • No sense in going back and forth like this. Just wait... time should prove my theory to be correct.

    Best Regards..

  • You're an idiot. Pointing out the flaws in your argument is pointless because there are so many -- two-handed bowling is essentially cheating because it is outside the scope of what bowling is intended to be.

  • and who are you to judge this "scope" of wut bowling is. did u create bowling? no u didnt. and im tired of idiots like you who say that ther r sooo many reasons im rong but point out no flaws. o i noe, its pointless well thats just like saying "your wrong, im rite, cuz i am". n that just makes you a 5 year old. such a freakin troll. =P

  • honestky it really doesnt matter dude, i completely agree with you but its not worth getting upset over because the fact is that two-handers are never going to go anywhere anyway

  • wow.. yall are really taking this subject serious... its just bowling... relax

  • I think they have to be extremely good two handers to bowl well on pba but i think they will continue to have success internationally

  • I understand that new ideas frighten most humans. The two handed style does require skill. While revs and speed do help, accuracy is what is most important in bowling. It is very difficult to be consistently accurate when using the two handed style. You obviously have limited to no experience with what you are talking about. That fact must be quite embarrassing in hindsight.

  • Keep your sweeping, base assumptions about the majority of individuals to yourself- It makes you look less than intelligent. You also are dead wrong when postulating that accuracy is high with this form of "bowling". The dynamics of hi-rev ball-spin bowling and resultant pin interaction makes it much easier to bowl high scores with less accuracy. Go educate yourself in simple physics as well as in extensive, long-term experience in bowling. Then feel your own hindsight embarrassment.

  • And, btw, If you want to talk about accuracy, go watch a number of Earl Anthony videos. He was the definition of an accuracy-based bowler- And he did it without utilizing auxiliary methods or equipment to improve his game.

  • If you read my comment instead of skimming, you would see that I didn't postulate high accuracy. I am a mechanical engineer, so I don't need any education in dynamics. You are wrong to assume that those factors make bowling easier overall. The two handed bowler can't just hit anywhere around the pocket and get a strike. The revs and speed make the ball harder to control and ultimately harder to stay consistent. So your theory that the style doesn't take skill is incorrect.

  • I'll tell you what is unintelligent. Making definitive convictions about something with which you have no experience. Saying such things as "The was bowling was intended to be". You know nothing about the true intentions of bowling, if there were any other than a ball being thrown down a lane by a person. Do you have a personal relationship with the creator? You sound like a senile old man, angry at the evolving world around him.

  • Not to harp on the blame the equipment game, but two handed bowling seems like a logical extention of where bowling is going. The physical parameters of the lane have not changed, but the new gear has changed how the pins are knocked down. I, for one, am in favor of going back to single void pin; re:Bill Taylor. I'm fairly certain that ball/pocket placement would be more critical than a high rev shot getting a whiff of the pocket. A lot of high rev players would ping on pins that don't fly.

  • I like the idea of the detonating bowling ball. I bet that would make the number 1 slot on ESPN's top plays.

  • Can Lasse get any more sponsors on that shirt??? HOLY CRAP!!!

  • is jason belmonte italian?

  • no he is australian

  • W0W crazy curve

  • two handed..too goofy looking, it should be on a cartoon!

  • lol i play like him too

  • ive bowled a 795 1 hand a 786 2 handed and 2 300's 2 handed. Been bowling both ways since i was 9 and since i don't have all the money in the world sometimes i need the revs or a flatter shot for the conditions w/ 1 ball. It's bowling, not a beauty contest. Ten pins up, ten pins down. -peace

  • Amen!

  • i dont understand how that would be legal...

BUT, he is pretty damn good

  • when u release just with one hand, it still legal

  • That two handed stuff is candy ass...throw it like a man, not a little boy.

  • Like Jimmy Keeth.

  • We are talking about bowling... there are no lumberjacks here!

  • The bottom line is this, watch how the other guy (who WON) bowls. Everything he does is perfect, fundamentally sound and he was flush on every shot. If there is ANY style to emulate here, it's HIS, regardless of how tempting or enticing it might be to some here to bowl like a pansy.

  • You forgot that the single-handed bowler has a real SKILL and TALENT

  • the guy is going to make pro bowling bigger then ever. I don't see anybody else do it.

  • thats stupid. as ppl learn more and evolve, so too are the way we do things. take a look at any sport and compare it to its origin. it still takes skill and talent fool, its just different and modified to produce more results. i suggest you try not to be so conservative.

  • You're wrong. By using excessive methods that are physically outside the scope of what bowling was intended to be, you are creating an imbalance in the sport that will only degrade or cheapen it. It may take a certain amount of skill to bowl in the high 200's all day, utilizing the two-handed delivery with a juiced-up ball and other maximized factors, but there is no talent involved whatsoever. This will become evident when games in the upper 200's are commonplace and expected.

  • Do you seriously think 2handed bowling requires no talent? I feel sorry for you.

  • So if everyone is can become good at the game and enjoy it, it cheapens it? He's got a perfectly normal ball but just has a different delivery. I'm sure one handed bowlers can keep up with him. The two handed method is just a matter of preference. You know how long it took football players to start passing the ball forward? did that break the game? No it changed it for the better. What about a one timer in hockey. This two handed method is exactly like any other sport. It adds more depth.

  • That's what he gets for bowling like a girl. He gets his ass beat. Bowling like a girl on the professional level should be against the rules.

  • That's one of the most idiotic comments I've ever read.

  • How many titles has this guy won bowling like a girl? Two in eight years as a pro??? If he had learned how to bowl the RIGHT way, he would probably be more consistent and would win more.

  • So how many titles have you won? Have you been player of the year ANYWHERE? If you were any good, you would be supportive of other people. But you are obviously bitter about bowling.

  • Jason is the 2004 and 2008 World Bowler of the Year, not to mention the first person to shoot 2 300s on TV.

  • lol

  • Sounds like something a third-grader would say on the playground. How infantile.

  • Actually, when I was in third grade and I used go bowling, a lot of the other kids my age used to bowl like this because they weren't strong enough to roll with one hand.

  • All of you guys don't realize the athetic ability it takes to bowl it two handed. You think it is just hooking the ball but its far from that. Your accuracy and speed have to be perfect or you will leave split after split. My best friend bowls two handed and has 35 800's and 50 300's in the past 10 years with the style. Don't hate till you try and find out how much it takes to do it.

  • This two handed shit sucks...it looks stupid and it is stupid.cant bowl?..try two hands!

  • how this guy beat belmo is beyond me

  • bad for the sport..but he is very good, one of the best bowlers in the world..I just think it's bad to teach this style.

  • its not something you can really teach. i used to bowl like this when i first started up until i was like 10 or 12(now im one of those high backswing kinda crankers..) but its just something that has to come like natural to you. i find it useful and fun since i can pick up basically any ball and make it move. i never bowl like that in league or tournaments though

  • why is it bad for the sport I see it as the future and here is my reasoning balls are getting more aggressive oil is getting heavier so if guys want to play a ball that doesn't involve 2nd arrow they are gonna have to adapt im actually practicing this style be cause the amount of revs available give more room for error and pin action also i am a very low rev bowler low pin action meaning i have to shoot more perfect shots too try to keep up with high rev bowlers.

  • agreed. i think its stupid and all the weak kids start doing it without even trying real bowling. wouldnt be surprised if it become illegal in USBC and PBA play in the future cause its just stupid and not REAL bowling. i mean... common, when you go bowling you throw the ball with one hand NOT TWO!

  • this guy has like no revs...lol

  • wtf are you on??? he averages 570rpm

  • lol its joke !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Don't get me wrong, he's a great bowler. But when you start stereotyping... That irritates the hell out of me.

  • i might not stand where he does, but i throw the same line, same curve, and not as many revolutions as he does, he has 600ish. idk how many i have. i get the same pin action, i hold my ball b4 the approach where he does. he is an outstanding bowler. and i am improving since i switched. and im 18.

  • I don't mean to sound like an A-- Hole but it's true. This kind of mentality pisses me off more than ever. If you've got talent, you've got talent. By the way, out of curiosity - How many 2 handed professional bowlers have bowled a 300 game? Now I don't know the answer, but if 2 handed bowlers are better, I want some evidence. I'm not going to bother looking yet since you put this on yourself.

  • barton u robviously a noobish scrub cause its called hook not curve.

  • dude, its the same fuckin thing.

  • no... thats what people that know anything about bowling call it

  • a curve is baseball a hook is bowling...jackass

  • all u other guys need to shut up. ive been bowling for 6-7 years, and since ive changed to 2 hands cuz of a minor thumb injury, my scores went up dramatically. ive been bowling with 2 hands for 3 weeks now, and i already had my first 700 series with a 759. i would of never got that with my thumb, and yea i also use 2 fingers as well, my ring finger and my pinkey, cuz of a middle finger injury. and yea, 2 handed bowlers are better. i am more consistant, and i can pick up speed when i need to.

  • Bull, if you can bowl, you can bowl. Also if you're not a pro, then shut the F*** up, I don't wanna see you type you're wanna be PBA Championship Non-Sense. If you're not a pro, you deserve to keep your mouth shut. There are plenty of people out there only been bowling for 1 year with a 600+ Series.

  • we got a guy on our bowling team who bowls with ring pinky we call it pinky power he also caries the highest avg

  • there is no rule on how to throw a bowling ball. he can throw however he want. the only thing that counts is the score, baby ;)

  • screwing up the sport?? bull he could beat you anyday

  • i hate how he is fucjing up the sport

  • who the fuck is this gyt

  • no one cares pal, i used to give a damn about bowling and averaged 215 when i was 16-17 but its all in good fun and you dont here me bragging :p

  • bowling with 2 hands not so easy to consistant. must training a lot. but that's very unteresting to playing using 2 hands haha

  • ok give me 1 week and it will b up on youtube

  • dude i don't even care anymore. your obviously lying so i dont really give a squirrels patooty! or a rats ass.

  • im 14 and i bowled 16 300games and 2 900 series

  • Yea i can guarentee youre lying

  • wanna get on a lane with me then

  • yea i would love to. If you have actually done that then how come ive never heard of you. 2 900's from a 14 year old?? i can guarentee i would have heard of you if that was true.

  • because it's on a different website... and damn ur rude

  • ok i bet. i didn't even say anything rude, i just dont like liars.

  • ok well u dont kno the truth then

  • why haven't i heard of you?

  • maybe u dont pay attention to t.v

  • haha omg dude your ridiculous. where are you from?

  • las vegas were are u form

  • michigan and next year im bowling for national champion svsu. 2 years running.
