  • Never seen coquina before?

  • On virtually every fossil video you will find people struggling / talking about the whole science/ geology VS. biblical literalism. People need to realise in my country the USA about 95% are science illiterate and about 80% are religiously illiterate . Naturally people are struggling to wrap their heads around science answers . Some people integrate both science / religion or exclude the other completely .

  • @1Focke Wulf 1 Genesis and its "creation sequence" account is a plagiarism of the Babylonian creation myth Enuma Elish ,which the early Jews where exposed to. You can look it up if you'd like . John Romer explained it well in his Testament series on PBS . Religion is based upon assertion of truths without evidence or verification . It is interesting to understand and read up on creation myths and their origins . They differ markedly from science .

  • We are so spoiled! I live on the coast line of Florida and there isnt a place where you cant see someone fishing, or looking for shark teeth ect.

  • Very nice!

Looks like Ordovician stuff we get up here in Ontrio Canada.

  • There are a lot of Christians that are not followers of the Bible. The Earth in only about 6000 years old according to the Bible. That is what I believe because it is God's Word! He created the world, and He wrote about it (inspired men) to tell us of His love for us. This whole life -everything we do is for Him and Him alone. This world is going to end one day, and everyone arguing about how old it is isn't going to make a difference. The only thing that really matters is..

  • @chodges725 that we are all sinners. We are separated from God because of our sin. The only way we can be with God in Heaven one day is through trusting in Jesus, to forgive our sin. He died on a cross for those that would believe in Him.

May God Bless you.. and I hope you will think about Jesus - he is as real as it gets.

  • @chodges725 the earth being 6000yr old it is not gods word, for if you knew your bible you would know no where in it does it mention 6000yr, or any date for the age of the earth. Bleat for me.

  • On Genesis being poetical -do you mean that to say it is not true? Saying that God did not create the earth in 6 days? I would say that among Christians (followers of Jesus Christ) we do take the Bible literally, as we believe they are the inspired words of God.

  • @chodges725 You are aware that the bible is written in several writting stlyes , Genesis differs greatly from the others . Most fundamentalists are underinformed as to church history and the bibles developement . Its a huge subject , again most Christian denominations are not literalists / fundamentalists .

  • @chodges725 Their are entire books, websites and forums on this subject .Depending on what religious tradition you where born into determines most peoples outlook , few ever study /think independently / critically .It was arrogant of you to claim the fossils where not real to defend YEC.

  • @chodges725 The Earth and its evolved life is is billions of years old according to several branches of science .This is accepted by over 1 billion Christians individualy as well as their church leaders .How you chose to ignore or accept science is up to you .

  • @chodges725 since we can say, with absolute certainty that the earth and all it's marvels were NOT created in 6 days, but over billions of years, then why evolve in your thinking? the bible is a mythological interpretation of the world and universe rather than a literal one. now you can begin to understand the important meaning behind the words - which continues to have meaning for entire cultures and civilizations today - a real marvel!

  • I believe in a young earth, created by God Almighty. I don't believe that they are fossils from that long ago.

  • @chodges725 YEC is a religious tradition from prescientific times . YEC can only survive if children are raised with mistrust towards mainstream science and childhood indoctrination . My city rests on 700 feet / several thousand fossilized reef layers grown in place . These fossils alone verify an ancient Earth and evolution .Your faith has to shut its eyes to this ,sadly .

  • @flyingscience Well, I believe the Bible, the word of GOD.. not scientists. They have holes in their theories. I believe that the world was created in six days. Only after Adam & Eve sinned did death and decay enter the world. The flood changed the entire atmosphere of the earth. It was a lot different on the earth before then, who knows what the ground was like and how things decomposed. We won't know for sure until the end of time..which is coming soon! Blessings...

  • @chodges725 There are thouisands of Christian denominations , the minority are YEC .Most Christians accept mainstream science , biology , astronomy .The writting style of Genesis is poetical not a science substitute . Authortarian tradition of YEC insists Genesis is literal and shouldnt be thought of in any other way . Depending on what you are raised with affects your outllook .

  • its man made. They are on a lot of buildings here in FL.... not prehistoric. Nice try though! I have them in my driveway, and I watched them pour it.

  • @chodges725 They do indeed mix cement and modern day shells in the pavement in Floridia . These walls are real fossils however , simply rewatch the video and notice the closeups .The Crystals are from fossilization , there is no original shell left but the mineralized replacement . These are recent fossils only a few 10-20 million years old .Yery young compared to my Cincinnati world famous 440 MYO fossils .

  • I am from Iowa, and there was an ocean in the Midwest 400 million years ago. Probably older than this stuff. It's so common here you cna walk down any tracks and find tons of this stuff on the track rock.

  • It is called Limestone, millions of years old.

  • Are you a tourist? I live in orlando, fl and whenever we go camping, we find those old shells all over the ground and in rocks and... they're just all over the place. Another thing florida is known for is fossils. As specially fossilized shells. I find them in my backyard! That's because florida, at one point, was underwater. It's the newest land-mass on earth which makes it an excellent fossiling area.

  • Right, the Florida panhandle was a giant coral reef.

  • What a waste....... get it??? sad.

  • I've seen similar things in the Cumberland Gap Park of Virgina. Compressed with ferns and small ammonite shapes. I love things like this thanks for sharing.

  • thats pretty gnarly and to be honest its on the structures walls not the bathrooms walls. dunce.

  • The fossil rocks make up the walls of the bathroom inside and out . Why insult strangers over something so small .Your blocked .

  • Thats pretty cool, I wonder if they did that on purpose?

  • duh
