  • If you want to enable parking, just set the Value Max to something above 50 (Mine is 64 and 2 CPUs are parked

  • Killed my laptops battery. because when it goes to sleep it still runs all four and used my battery to death.

  • i have two parked cpus on my desktop. i tried doing what you said but nothing appears in the registry when i tried to search. are there any other ways?

  • what are the default values for ValueMax and ValueMin?

  • WHY would they park my quad core processor.

    WHY?!

    Thank you so much.

  • Upon searching for the code (I made sure I copied it perfect, even tried typing it out myself once) it says "finished searching" and gives me nothing in the side window

  • i only found 1 value min and value max all the rest were AC setting index and DC setting index

  • hey) i have intel core i3-2330m. it has only 2 cores: ark. intel. com/ products/53434/Intel-Core-i3-2330M-Processor-(3M-Cache-2_20-GHz). Resource monitor shows me that i have 2 working and 2 parked CPUs... is it possible? i don't understand :( thank's

  • @Mar4elush You have 2 cores, but you have 4 processors.

  • Keep up the good work!!!

  • my registry only has one copy with the value max/min, the rest only show: default, ac/dc settings. I did the set to 0 on the first copy but it still shows parked :(

  • @integraz2000 me too

  • wow, this really helped the performance in a few apps. I had no idea my computer was gimped my microsoft (well, beyond having to run windows...). Simple, easy...and it works. Now...how to balance the load over all 4 cores....that would be nice too.

  • I cannot seem to find the performance tab. i only see the processes. What should I do?

  • If the code supplied in the description box doesn't work for whatever reason, instead use " Core Parking " just without the spaces and " signs. Btw great video :)

  • Reg edit does not find the entries

  • Man thank you for this. I just want to say one thing: I found that when you change ValueMax to 0 only in one 0cc5b647-c1df-4637-891a-dec35c318583 entry under CurrentControlSet ignoring ControlSet001 and ControlSet002, Core Parking stop working (these are Power Profiles), so instead of entering 3 or more entries it is possible to disable it only by entering one. And I also have found that after reboot ControlSet001 and ControlSet002 sets to 0 value automatically.

  • what is disabling cpu parking for? what does it do? dont you trust windows default configuration?

  • @yoronihc Hell NO!

  • thanks for this, microsoft are assholes.

  • Does it cause any problems with gaming. I know that games have problems using multiple cores and this could be an issue

  • @a1rh3add If a game doesn't support multi core it's only supposed to access one, it shouldn't make a difference whether they are parked or not.

  • can u please help me ,i have hp pavillion laptop with amd phenom2 X3 , i had a lot of overheating problem with it so i sent it to hp service center when i got it back it had become really slow so i opened task manager and it was showing performance of just 1core (earlier it used to show all 3) , so i wanted to know is it that they must have disabled 2 of processors to prevent it frn heating up , if so how can i enable them back? thanks!

  • I was just wondering how much more battery life is shortened by and if this shortens the life of the processor, even slightly, like overclocking does. By the way, I found that there's an easier way to do this (by "easier" I mean you don't have to edit the registry). There's a link to that in the comments on this article's page on PCMichiana 's website.

  • the cpu load on my system is still pretty uneven after turning off parking. But no parked cores, so im assuming it worked. Will have to test later. thanks

  • i have a quad core and disabled 2 of them, but now i want to enable the 2 i shut down and i cant. please help

  • Alright, cool it worked, I had to adjust the values to 100 instead of 0, but i believe im seeing a diffference in processing speed already, loading this video in 720p didnt take long at all. Thanks, I have an Intel 380 processor

  • Your videos impressed me =) i subbed!

  • hey PCMichiana does disabling CPU Core parking overclock the processor or not?? Please reply please :)

  • This worked great! Thanks!!

  • ok i got it to work thank you. Could someone explain the value's in the registry what they represent 0-100? is this = cpu work load%

  • @chisel954 Typically represents workload, for some reason people need to specify 100 percent to unlock their other cores though... makes no sense really. It should be 0 if you want to unpark them all.

  • @PCMichiana im very confused it says i have 6 CORES AND 3 ARE PARKED

  • @PCMichiana sorry 7 processers i dont get how im on i7 2600

  • When a paste your string and select find it only shows the 5 HKEY folders nothing to the left like your video shows??--->> 0cc5b647-c1df-4637-891a-dec35c318583 is this code in a certain folder i need to search in or just select COMPUTER folder which i did.?

  • hey hey. i3 is dual core only. you slipped

  • I've done every step thanks to all your videos. BUT could you do a video on the OS download UBUNTU? it's freeware. My friend runs it in combination with windows 7 and it looks amazing and runs in my opinion better than windows 7 alone. only because I have a better operating system in both software and hardware and it seems his runs a lot better than mine. when using ubuntu.

  • Hey, I did this a few weeks back I noticed a huge slow down on my PC (laptop)... i have a Samsung QX480 with intel core i5 m460 @2.53ghz w/ 4GB of ram. win7 home 64bit.... how can i undo this?

  • @th3eagleproduxions i mean qx410***

  • Hey it's me again, I just wanted to ask you to PLEASE help me with a couple of questions. First of all, I heard that if you have a good graphics card (dedicated) that if you disable aero it will slow down computer because it will process through cpu instead of gpu adding extra load. Also, my second question is that if I disable aero and adjust for best performance, will it lower or affect my game graphics in any way or just desktop graphics? The reply would be greatly appreciated.

  • bro.

can u tell me how to update my graphic card correctly?

my graphic card is ati hd 5650.

  • one more thing,

if i play games its more smooth or this parking increase performance for laptop only?

  • @dedonAX91 It's just more common for laptops to have parked CPUs than desktops. This will help any computer that has parked CPUs

  • @PCMichiana aww i only got 2 ny tips 2 help make it faster?

  • thanks bro

    its really helpful :)

  • this make the laptop run more faster / smother?

  • @dedonAX91 Yes

  • I owe you one, I thank you very much. :D

  • Thanks a lot man! I didn't even know they did that on laptops. I've had my i5 laptop for 6 months now, and i didn't know that i had parked cpu cores. Thanks!

  • i dont like messing with my registry...

  • My computer is already set for that!! thats good, everything you did matched up on my notebook pc!

  • I did try It but only one value was found and then completely disappear, so I restart my computer I did check the cpu and there still 2 parked. Any solutions??

  • @gratica Someone said in oddball cases setting both values to 100 rather than 0 enabled all of their cores, you could try that.

  • @PCMichiana please replay thanks !, if i disable 2 cores do the other 2 cores than get stronger ? couse i got something and it needs 2Ghz and my processor(intel core i7) has 1.63Ghz. thanks for your time :)

  • Yay for more ! :D
